  • How to use or get working: Reporting services report viewer component in VS.NET

    I am trying to write a simple web app (C# or VB.NET) to display a set of reports/subreports, but I can't seem to get access to the ReportViewer control. I am using VS.NET express (2005 and 2010) and I know I need the reportviewer pluglin. but I have installed it but I can't seem to get it to appear in the toolbox. I have tried to add a reference but VS does not like the DLL :P Please guide me through a walk through! Thanks. M

  • Getting wrong serial-port names from bluetoothdevice (c#)

    To get all avaliable Serialports from the system i use the following command. SerialPort.GetPortNames It works fine for the mainboard serial port, but with the bluetooth device i get the wrong portnames. For Example: Instead of COM7 i get sometimes COM70 or COM7ö. Its always 1 letter to much. any suggestens? PS: I am using newest Visual Studio Express in Windows 7 PPS: The dirty hack to cut the last letter didn't work because i don't know which one is the bluetooth serial port (with various bluetoothstick or devices it changes the number of the comport) and after trying various sticks i reached COM10, ergo COM100 or COM10f

I renewed it on Team section, then renew provisioning profile, and reinstall them on my keychain and xcode, and then I get this error : Code Sign error: The identity 'iPhone Developer' doesn't match any valid certificate/private key pair in the login keychain What should I do ?   • Rails migrations: Undo default setting for a column

    Hi Stack Overflow Community! I have the problem, that I have an migration in Rails that sets up a default setting for a column, like this example: def self.up add_column :column_name, :bought_at, :datetime, :default => Time.now end Suppose, I like to drop that default settings in a later migration, how do I do that with using rails migrations? My current workaround is the execution of a custom sql command in the rails migration, like this: def self.up execute 'alter table column_name alter bought_at drop default' end But I don't like this approach, because I am now dependent on how the underlying database is interpreting this command. In case of a change of the database this query perhaps might not work anymore and the migration would be broken. So, is there a way to express the undo of a default setting for a column in rails?     Is it possible to compile some code-behind (.cs) files (eg. all .cs file under a particular folder) into one DLL, and the rest into another DLL? We have some common codes and pages (aspx + cs files) that we want to use across many websites. We want this to compile into a DLL (eg. Common.dll). The rest of the files will be website-specific, unique to each website and should compile into another DLL (eg. Website3.dll) This is so that if we make changes to a common code-behind, we can just publish Common.dll onto all our websites. Is that possible using VS Web Developer Express 2008? Thanks in advance. EDIT: We are already using a class library, but not for pages (aspx+cs)

  • Visual C++ 2010 solution-wide macros with parameters

    I'm trying to compile some source code with Visual C++ 2010 Express. The code was written for GCC, and contains attributes like this: struct something { ... } __attribute__((packed)); Since this is not standard C++ syntax, Visual C++ doesn't recognize it. With this macro prior to the struct declaration, it works fine: #define __attribute__(p) But I don't want to alter the files. I created a new property sheet (GccCompat), and went to Preprocessor Definitions, and added the macro, like this: __attribute__(p) or like this: __attribute__(p)= But it doesn't work. It's simply not called. If I define just __attribute__ (without parameters) in the same location, the macro is correctly defined. Note that the command line that is generated looks fine (the macros with parameters are passed exactly the same as the ones without), but the compiler seems to ignore it. So, how can I globally define my macro with a parameter?

    Hi, I have a Microsoft LifeCam HD-5000 webcams. According to AMCap, the camera outputs a MJPEG stream at 30fps at 720p. I want to capture each JPEG frame in a small application without doing any preview or decompression/transcoding to minimize CPU utilization to the minimum possible. I'm a C# developer, but I'm new to DirectShow. Is there a simple way to capture the MJPEG stream frame by frame as its output from the camera in C#/.NET without decompressing it?

    scenerio:- a database server running sql server 2005 and sql server management studio 2005 express editions a web server running IIS 5.0v using windows xp pro. two other computer having windows xp and windows 98 i have a linksys router which i use to access point for wireless (laptop) there are 5 sockets behind it four for clients and one for internet. i would like to setup a LAN- something like a private hosting area with two clients. would should i do? where to connect what and what would the changes in settnigs be. right now it uses dhcp or something to assign ips. where will the webserver be attached to the internet socket? where will the db server be attached? any guide, links, help thank you

  • NHibernate very slow during debugging

    Have anyone stumbled upon a problem where NHibernate is extremely slow in Visual Studio while debugging, but behaves normally when run separately? Logging is disabled and the time lost seems to be when the actual queries are executed, NHProfiler shows that queries were executed very quickly (on SQL side I presume), but each session with 10 queries takes about 4 seconds. I am using SQL Express Server. As I said, even if I turn on full logging and run my application without Visual Studio it is a magnitude faster. Update. After hours and hours of work towards the issue I was able to fix it by simply switching project type from Windows Application to Console Application (although in reality it's a Windows Service, but it always worked before with Windows Application project type). What could possibly be the difference to bring NHibernate to a halt in debugging mode?
