• AJAX binds jquery events multiple times

  Hi... I have a masterpage setup, with a pageLoad in the topmost masterpage, which calls pageLoad2 for nested masterpages which calls pageLoad3 for content pages. In my content page I have a jquery click event and in my nested masterpage I have a web user control. Whenever I use the user control in the nested masterpage, it rebinds the click event in the content page (undoubtedly because the pageLoad3 is called again), but this makes the click event fire twice on a single click. The problem gets worse the higher up masterpages you go (eg. fires 3 times if user control from topmost masterpage is called). Can anyone tell me how to make sure it only binds the jquery events once?

• QGraphicsView and eventFilter

  Hello everyone, This has been bugging me for more than two days now, so i thought i should ask. I am using Qt 4.5.3 (compiled with VC2008) on Win7. I have MyGraphicsView (inherits QGraphicsView) and MyFilter (inherits QObject) classes. When i install the MyFilter object as an event filter to MyGraphicsView, Mouse events are delivered to MyFilter after they are delivered to MyGraphicsView whereas Key events are delivered to MyFilter before they are delivered to MyGraphicsView. In the second case, i install the MyFilter object as an event filter to MyGraphicsView-viewport() (which is a standart QGLWidget), Mouse events are delivered to MyFilter before they are delivered to MyGraphicsView, whereas Key events are delivered to only MyGraphicsView. The events are supposed to be delivered to event filters before they are delivered to the actual object, so why is this happening? What should i do to ensure this order? Thanks in advance. • Why Does .Hide()ing and .Show()ing Panels in wxPython Result in the Sizer Changing the Layout?

  As referenced in my previous question, I am trying to make something slightly wizard-like in function. I have settled on a single frame with a sizer added to it. I build panels for each of the screens I would like users to see, add them to the frame's sizer, then switch between panels by .Hide()ing one panel, then calling a custom .ShowYourself() on the next panel. Obviously, I would like the buttons to remain in the same place as the user progresses through the process. I have linked together two panels in an infinite loop by their "Back" and "Next" buttons so you can see what is going on. The first panel looks great; tom10's code worked on that level, as it eschewed my initial, over-fancy attempt with borders flying every which way. And then the second panel seems to have shrunk down to the bare minimum. As we return to the first panel, the shrinkage has occurred here as well. Why does it look fine on the first panel, but not after I return there? Why is calling .Fit() necessary if I do not want a 10 pixel by 10 pixel wad of grey? And if it is necessary, why does .Fit() give inconsistent results? This infinite loop seems to characterize my experience with this: I fix the layout on a panel, only to find that switching ruins the layout for other panels. I fix that problem, by using sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 0) instead of sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 1, wx.EXPAND), and now my layouts are off again. So far, my "solution" is to add a mastersizer.SetMinSize((475, 592)) to each panel's master sizer (commented out in the code below). This is a cruddy solution because 1) I have had to find the numbers that work by trial and error (-5 pixels for the width, -28 pixels for the height). 2) I don't understand why the underlying issue still happens. What's the correct, non-ugly solution? Instead of adding all of the panels to the frame's sizer at once, should switching panels involve .Detach()ing that panel from the frame's sizer and then .Add()ing the next panel to the frame's sizer? Is there a .JustMakeThisFillThePanel() method hiding somewhere I have missed in both the wxWidgets and the wxPython documents online? I'm obviously missing something in my mental model of layout. I have output the values of all the properties BoxComponentEvent exposes; and all of them (with the exception of the coordinates at which the event took place) stay the same regardless. • Grouping problem with postback in SPGridview

  I have a SPGridView with a custom CheckBox Template in it. To access the value of the checkbox I have created the SPGridView in Page_Init method. It was working fine. I also have grouping in the grid. It was working fine till I made any postback in the page. To overcome that I created my own custom GridView and overrided the LoadControlState event. Now the problem is when I use this Custom Grid in my page the LoadControlState event occurs after the Init event and hence the grid doesnt render on the page. When i keep it in Page_Load it works fine but my custom checkbox template creates a problem then. How do I get both the custom Checkbox Template and grouping with postback in the SPGridview working properly??? Please help as this is really getting me stuck.........

  I have a custom control which extends from TextBox. In the KeyDown event of the control I have access to the KeyCode property of keyEventArgs If the text in the textbox is selected and some other text is typed on top of it, the keyCodes that I am getting in the KeyDown event are different each time and in the KeyPress event I get the actual value. For ex: If the textbox has value 1234 and now I select 1234 and type 5 on top of it, I want to to be able to know in any of the events by some key combination that the old value 1234 is gone and the new value of the textbox is 5.

  I have seen hooks in Kohana PHP framework, and they work as some sort of a callback function triggered by a certain event (Kohana's events that is, some sort of method overloading). I have seen hooks in Wordpress, and I don't know what they are or how to use them (just saw them yesterday). I'm looking for events in "non-frameworked" php, I cannot find ones. Do hooks work only in an "event-based" environment? What are they anyway (in general, not just in PHP)? What are they good for if not in an "event-based" environment.

• Accessing a VSTO application-addin types from VBA (Excel)

  We have a VSTO application-addin (not a document-addin) for Excel, and we want to expose an event to VBA code so that the VBA macro can do some action when this event fires in the addin. How can I get the VBA code to be able to subscribe to an event defined in the VSTO application-addin? I'd think that since the addin is loaded in the Excel process, this shouldn't be too tricky, but haven't found a way yet. BTW, using VS 2008 and Excel 2007. Thanks!

• Preventing mouse emulation events (ie click) from touch events in Mobile Safari / iPhone using Javas

  In doing a single page Javascript app with interactive DOM elements I've found that the "mouseover-mousemove-mousedown-mouseup-click" sequence happens all in a bunch after the "touchstart-touchmove-touchend" sequence of events. I've also found that it is possible to prevent the "mouse*-click" events from happening by doing an "event.preventDefault()" during the touchstart event, but only then, and not during the touchmove and touchend. This is a strange design, because because it is not possible to know during the touchstart yet whether the user intents to drag or swipe or just tap/click on the item. I ended up setting up a "ignore_next_click" flag somewhere tied to a timestamp, but this is obviously not very clean. Does anybody know of a better way of doing this, or are we missing something? Note that while a "click" can be recognized as a "touchstart-touchend" sequence (ie no "touchmove"), there are certain things, such as keyboard input focus, that can only happen during a proper click event.

• How to determine direction of navigation from IE WebBrowser (IHtmlWindow2 or Javascript)

  I'm uisng the WPF Web Browser control and when it fires the Navigating event, the event args always contain NavigationMode.New. It should be set to NavigationMode.Back if the user chooses to 'Go Back' from the web control. So its off to the COM ActiveX control underneath to determine the direction of navigation. I've been looking at IHtmlWindow2 and IHtmlDocument2 and IOmHistory, but don't see anything that happens on navigation to tell me if the navigation is caused by going back, forward, a new address, or a refresh. Since IHtmlWindow and Javascript have the same DOM, maybe someone knows how from Javascript. I've also been looking at the IWebBrowser2 interface, but can't find anything there either. Is there an event or property I need to inspect?

• Incorrect value for sum of two NSIntegers

  Hi everybody: I'm sure I'm missing something and the answer is very simple, but I can't seem to understand why this is happening. I'm trying to make an average of dates: NSInteger runningSum =0; NSInteger count=0; for (EventoData *event in self.events) { NSDate *dateFromString = [[NSDate alloc] init]; if (event.date != nil) { dateFromString = [dateFormatter dateFromString:event.date]; runningSum += (NSInteger)[dateFromString timeIntervalSince1970]; count += 1; } } if (count>0) { NSLog(@"average is: %@",[NSDate dateWithTimeIntervalSince1970:(NSInteger)((CGFloat)runningAverage/count)]); } Everything seems to work OK, except for runningSum += (NSInteger)[dateFromString timeIntervalSince1970], which gives an incorrect result. If I put a breakpoint when taking the average of two equal dates (2009-10-10, for example, which is a timeInterval of 1255125600), runningSum is -1784716096, instead of the expected 2510251200. I've tried using NSNumber and I get the same result. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks! Antonio

• Google Chrome - NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED - pages only partially load

  Hi Google Chrome version (8.0.552.224 (Official Build 68599)) I have developed a web site using asp.net mvc and jquery. it uses a lot of ajax. I noticed that occasionally a web page does not complete loading all files from the server. Browsing through forums It seems that this also happens to other people. Looking in to the Chromium Net-Internals ( type: chrome://net-internals/ as a url in the chrome browser ) I noticed that the pages do not complete loading if a NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED event occurred. Any files that were not fetched from the server before the time of the NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED event failed to arrive with error (-3) Do you know why the NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED event occurs? Is there a way to stop it from happening? Thanks and be happy, Julian

• Question about WinForms TrackBar control in .Net

  Does anyone know the millisecond interval, used by the framework trackbar, between calling the ValueChanged event when moving the grip with a mouse? I've implemented my own trackbar and I'd like the behaviour to be consistent with what the user expects. I've had a look in reflector but it's one of those controls where most of the implementation is not viewable. ETA: Actually, thinking about it, it's not as simple as that. For small changes, the TrackBar is raising the event for every change. However, if you make a large fast change with the grip, it will not raise the event for every step. Just wondering exactly how the framework does this? Thanks

• ComboBox.SelectionChanged doesn't catch the first selection

  I need to fill textboxes depending on the item selected in a combobox. I fill combo async and in Completed event I have the following code combo.ItemsSource = e.Result; combo.DisplayMemberPath = "Name"; combo.SelectedIndex = -1; Then in the SelectionChanged event of the combo, I catch the selected object MyClass mc= ((ComboBox)sender).SelectedItem as MyClass; tbxName.Text = mc.Name; ... However, when I load the project and select any event for the 1st time, NOTHING happens. Every other time (2nd, 3rd, nth) the data is correctly caught and displayed. So I need to know why the combo doesn't catch the first selection? That's the reason I have the code combo.SelectedIndex = -1 (when the app loads, combo is empty - selection -1 works).
