  • Is there a JQuery DOM manipulator/CSS selector equivalent class in PHP?

    - by DKinzer
    I know that I can use DOMDocument and DOMXPath to manipulate XML files. But, I really love JQuery, and it would be great if there was something more like JQuery in the PHP world that I could use for sever side DOM manipulation. NOTE: I'm only interested here in how JQuery Selects and Manipulates the DOM, not all the other parts of JQuerry (I guess you can say just the Pop and the Sizzle parts).

  • jQuery: Trouble inserting DOM elements

    - by Rosarch
    I want to add a set of lists to the children of another DOM element: var req_subsets = $("#req_subsets"); $.each(subsets, function(index, subset) { var subset_list = $("<ul></ul>"); // add DOM elements to subset_list req_subsets.append(subset_list); }); However, only one DOM element is ever added. This makes me suspect that when I assign a new value to subset_list, the old one is overwritten. If that is the problem, how do I avoid it? If not, what else am I doing wrong? UPDATE: I changed something else, and I'm almost entirely certain that this is fixed.

  • Using jQuery to create a video switcher

    - by techcastoni
    I've got a design for a video page which has a main video panel which will load the FLV file into JWPlayer when a thumbnail image is clicked. I think what I'm looking for is a partial page refresh? What is the best way to achieve this effect? This is the script I am using to display the video panel: var s1 = new SWFObject('player.swf','player','682','407','9'); s1.addParam('allowfullscreen','true'); s1.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always'); s1.addParam('flashvars','file=Welcome.f4v'); s1.write('preview');

  • jquery thickbox height problem

    - by Swami
    My thickbox renders correctly in my dev environment, but in prod, the default height kicks in even though I'm supplying width and height params. TB_WIDTH = (params['width']*1) + 30 || 630; //defaults to 630 if no paramaters were added to URL TB_HEIGHT = (params['height']*1) + 40 || 440; //defaults to 440 if no paramaters were added to URL ajaxContentW = TB_WIDTH - 30; ajaxContentH = TB_HEIGHT - 45; Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

  • jQuery image gallery preview image popup

    - by JV10
    I've created an image gallery with the preview image popup on hover. http://jsfiddle.net/WSfka/ Hover over the thumbnail images and the larger image preview displays. I'm not happy with the way preview images can flash between moving around the thumbnail images. How can I simplify the script and improve the preview image popup? $(document).ready(function() { $('.imageGalleryAlbum li a img').mouseenter(function() { $(this).closest('li').find('.preview').delay(500).fadeIn(1); $(this).closest('li').siblings().find('.preview').fadeOut(1); return; }); $('.imageGalleryAlbum li .preview').hover(function() { $(this).closest('li').siblings().find('.preview').fadeOut(1); return; }); $('.imageGalleryAlbum li .preview').mouseleave(function() { $(this).closest('li').find('.preview').fadeOut(1); $(this).closest('li').siblings().find('.preview').fadeOut(1); return; }); $('.imageGalleryAlbum li .preview').click(function() { $(this).closest('li').find('.preview').fadeOut(1); $(this).closest('li').siblings().find('.preview').fadeOut(1); return; }); }); $(document).mouseup(function(e) { var container = $(".preview"); if (container.has(e.target).length === 0) { container.fadeOut(1); } });

  • Selecting pictures with Jquery and Javascript

    - by Axschech
    I'm testing out a layout on a website using 3 pictures here: Schechterbusiness.info the left button works, making it go through the pictures. But I can't figure out how to get the right button to work, which is supposed to scroll through the other way. I know there's probably a way to do it with arrays but I can't wrap my brain around it. Halp! Code to scroll through pictures: $('#fryLink').click(function() { $('#hide').hide(); $('#img').hide(); count++; if(count == 1) { $('#img').attr("src","images/fry.png"); } else if(count == 2) { $('#img').attr("src","images/bender.png"); } else if(count == 3) { $('#img').attr("src","images/zoidberg.png"); } $('#img').show("fade"); if(count > 2) { count = 0; }

  • jquery clone only once

    - by tsiger
    I have a series of divs like this: <div id="available-posts"> <div class="post" id="unique_id"> <a href="#" class="addme">Add</a> Some text </div> <div class="post" id="unique_id"> <a href="#" class="addme">Add</a> Some text </div> </div> The unique_id is a different number for each of the divs. Now i have a new empty div like this <div class="related-posts"></div> And i clone items in there. The thing is that i want to check if an item is already cloned. If it is i want to stop it from being cloned again. This is how i clone items: // clone it $('.addme').live('click', function() { $(this).parents('div.thepost').clone().fadeIn('normal').appendTo('#related-posts').find('a.addme').html('Remove').removeClass('addme').addClass('removeme'); return false; }); // remove it $('.removeme').live('click', function() { $(this).parents('div.thepost').fadeOut('normal', function() {$(this).remove(); }); return false; }); In other words i want the cloned list to contain only unique items. Not for example 2 clones of the same post. *edit: i am using live coz the first list (available posts) is populated through an AJAX call.

  • Jquery: change event to input file on IE

    - by cmedeiros

On FF/Chrome it goes weel, and submit the form after file selection, but I can't do this on ie. Already tried with click/propertychange but nothing happens. Some code I already tried: $("#attach").attr("onChange", "alert('I changed')"); $("#attach").live($.browser.msie? 'propertychange': 'change', function(e) { ... }); Any sugestions to I try? Thanks for any help Edit1: I think there's a important information, this input file, is created on the fly, because of it I use .live() to bind the event

  • jQuery Swapping Elements

    - by zuk1
    Ok let me make an example: <head> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#options_2").hide(); $("#options_3").hide(); }); </script> </head> <body> <div id="options_1">option 1</div> <div id="options_2">option 2</div> <div id="options_3">option 3</div> <a href="" class="selected">choose option 1</a> <a href="">choose option 2</a> <a href="">choose option 3</a> </body> As you can see only option 1 is visible by default, and the link you click to show option 1 has the class="selected" by default, showing the user that that option is currently selected. I basically want it so that when they click "choose option 2" the options 1 div hides itself and the options 2 div shows itself, and then gives the second link the selected class and removes the class from the image link. It basically just tabs using links and divs but due to the format I have to display it in I cannot use any of the tabs plugins I have found online.

  • jQuery appendTo (switching back and forth)

    - by Starboy
    So what I'm trying to accomplish is a simple appendTo a certain element. The issue I'm having is after execute is run, it appends to the location but then proceed to go back to the ul it resides in. <script type="text/javascript"> function execute() { $('#desCopy').appendTo('#description') $('#imgPlace').appendTo('#IMGbox') } </script> <div id="content" style="background:#000; width:989px;"> <div style="float:left; left:18px; margin:0; width:337px; position:relative; padding:15px 0 0 0; color:#FFF;"> <div id="description"> </div> </div> <div id="IMGbox" style="float:left; position:relative; display:block; background:#F00; width:652px; height:258px; background:#0FF; overflow:hidden;"> </div> <div style="float:right; background:#CCC; height:25px; width:652px;"> <ul> <li><a href="" onclick="execute()">Slide 1</a> <ul style=""> <li><span id="desCopy">Test description, Test description</span></li> <li><img src="images/test.jpg" id="imgPlace"></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> </div>

  • jquery image fading with tabs

    - by StealthRT
    Hey all, i am trying my best to figure out how to go about doing this: I have 2 tabs. When the page loads tab1 is selected automatically. This shows the tab as 1.0 transparency while tab2 stays at 0.7. Once the user clicks on tab2, tab1 goes to 0.7 transparency and tab2 goes to 1.0. However, i can not seem to get it to do that! Here is my code: <script type="text/javascript"> function checkTab(theTab) { $('#tab1').fadeTo(250, 0.70); $('#tab2').fadeTo(250, 0.70); if ($("#tabActive").val() == theTab) { $(theTab).fadeTo(250, 1); } } $(document).ready(function() { $('#tab1').hover(function() {$(this).fadeTo(250, 1)}, function() {checkTab('#tab1')}); $('#tab2').hover(function() {$(this).fadeTo(250, 1)}, function() {checkTab('#tab2')}); $('#tab2').fadeTo(250, 0.70); $('#tabActive').val('tab1'); }); </script> <li class="stats"><img src="images/Stats.png" name="nav1" width="70" height="52" id="tab1" onclick="$('#tabActive').val('tab1');" /></li> <li class="cal"><img src="images/cal.png" name="nav1" width="70" height="52" id="tab2" onclick="$('#tabActive').val('tab2');" /></li> <input name="tabActive" id="tabActive" type="text" /> Any help would be great! :) David

  • jQuery UI Rang Slider show divs based on selected range

    - by andi_sf
    I have set up a range slider that should show/hide divs based on their range values - meaning if the range of the one specifies in the div falls into the selected range in the slider it should show - the others hide. Somehow it does not work correctly - if anybody could help that would be greatly appreciated. My code so far: $("#slider").slider({ range: true, min: 150, max: 280, step: 5, values: [150, 280], slide: function(event, ui) { $("#amount").val('Min. Value' + ui.values[0] + ' - Max. Value' + ui.values[1]); }, change: function(event, ui) { $('#col-2 div').each(function(){ var valueS = parseInt($(this).attr("class")); var valueX = parseInt($(this).attr("title")); if (valueS < ui.values[0] && valueX <= ui.values[1] || valueS ui.values[0] && valueX = ui.values[1] ) { $(this).stop().animate({opacity: 0.25}, 500) } else { $(this).stop().animate({opacity: 1.0}, 500) $("#amount").val('Min. Value' + ui.values[0] + ' - Max. Value' + ui.values[1]); } }); } }); $("#amount").val('Min. Value' + $("#slider").slider("values", 0) + ' - Max. Value' + $("#slider").slider("values", 1)); }); I have also posted a sample at: http://www.webdesigneroakland.com/slider/444range_slider.html
