  • What is a good way to render a site or portions of a site into a desktop gadget/widget?

    I guess a better way to ask this question (or an alternative to it, in my case) would be to first ask how to do this instead. Namely, I want to have a gadget on my desktop (not just in a browser window) with options such as overlaying on top of other windows, offline caching, etc. that is dedicated expressly to a given website (no browsing functions or menus). Be even more awesome if I could indicate a specific physical part of the website to show in the gadget.

  • Windows 7 on Laptop: Show 3 power Profiles instead of just 2

    The only thing I miss from Vista on W7 is that, you can click the batery icon and select one of three power profiles without having to open the Energy option Window. Can I archieve this on W7 Without having to install a third party tool? I have tried one, but with so many bugs and problems, but I guess there are maybe one tool out there that works fine. I'm Using W7 Professional x64 Thanks in advance

    I have a server, and windows vista, 64-bit, 4gb ram. Sometimes the server randomly drops into the page file, and disconnects everyone who was online. Only after I click the cmd.exe window does it comes back out. How do I mark a program as not eligible for the page file?   • Sending a Message in Outlook

    Is there any way to configure outlook to send messages without Outlook being open? We're currently using a system where the "Email Page" opens a outlook Sendto window. You can click "Send", but the message stays in the (Outbox) until you open Outlook. I'm trying to get around opening Outlook. Anyone have any ideas?

    I used to have both windows vista and ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop and i could choose which one to start at start up. But now I only have ubuntu 10,04 on my laptop and because there is only one operating system on my laptop the grub window doesn't show up. I need it because sometimes I need to start my ubuntu in recovery mode with no graphics, I checked and grub is already installed, how can I activate it at start up ?   • Create keyboard shortcuts to move/resize windows in Ubuntu

    On windows I have a few AutoHotkey scripts that let me hit various key combinations to resize windows to particular pre-defined sizes, or move them to certain areas of the screen (or both). I'm wondering how I would accomplish this in Ubuntu (gnome). Most of the searches I did for a linux version of autohotkey seemed to be centered around just setting up simple keyboard shortcuts (key combo X launches app Y, etc). I didn't see anything about scripting window size and placement beyond maximize/minimize.
