  hi,.. Can somebody help in understanding how Lun Provisioning is done in clariion based on client requirement. Say, a client needs one 50 GB space on the host( for application) ,two -350 GBs ( for DB and stuff) on the same host and i have 4 raid groups with space of 200 GB in one 50 GB in second and 400 GB and 400GB in rest two all having 5 disks. And , I 'm using Raid 5 only. How do i provision keeping performance in mind( so that performance hit is not there)?..And i need to understand the concept of meta head as well. Please help me by elaborating the above scenario..I am learning to provision storage in non productive environment( b'fore going ahead and working on client prod server) and i have been learning a lot from SF ...I request the seniors here to help me understand it better. • Good hosted sites to manage quality testing?

  Basically, I would like to manage quality testing with an issue management system focused on quality testing? I can't use the typical issue management system such as Lighthouse, FogBugz because each test is written as a ticket and 20 to 30 tickets need to be duplicated (w/ no history) every time we start a quality cycle. Do any (hosted) sites exist? We're currently using a Google Spreadsheet so it can be collaboratively edited.

• Where are SSIS Packages Saved?

  I right clicked on a Database in the object explorer of SQL Server 2008 Management Studio. I went to Tasks Import Data, and imported some data from a flat text file, opting to save the package on the server. Now how the heck do I get to the package to edit or run it again? Where in SQL Server Management Studio do I go? I've expanded everything and I can't find it. It's driving me nuts.

But now with ARC this memory management is no longer an issue, so does the reason for using properties evaporate? is there still any good reason (obviously other than providing public access to instance variables) to use properties anymore?

  I'm learning about UTF-8 standards and this is what I'm learning : Definition and bytes used UTF-8 binary representation Meaning 0xxxxxxx 1 byte for 1 à 7 bits chars 110xxxxx 10xxxxxx 2 bytes for 8 à 11 bits chars 1110xxxx 10xxxxxx 10xxxxxx 3 bytes for 12 à 16 bits chars 11110xxx 10xxxxxx 10xxxxxx 10xxxxxx 4 bytes for 17 à 21 bits chars And I'm wondering, why 2 bytes UTF-8 code is not 10xxxxxx instead, thus gaining 1 bit all the way up to 22 bits with a 4 bytes UTF-8 code? The way it is right now, 64 possible values are lost (from 1000000 to 10111111). When getting into the command prompt (DOS) already in the directory, I type this javac HelloWorld.java And then this java HelloWorld And the output reads Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld <wrong name:learning/HelloWorld> With a whole lot more errors, learning being the name of my general package. What's wrong? I have installed Eclipse x86 SDK 4.2.0 together bit with the latest JRE and JDK both in 64 bit as well.

• Please guide this self-taught Web Developer.

  One of the major regrets in life is that I didn't do something with my introversion. I didn't manage to get past the first year of college because of that. I have chosen the path where there are no video games and other time sinks, all I have is the internet to quench my thirst of learning the ins and outs of the field of Web Developing/Designing. Though currently, I'm taking a Web Design Associate course at one of the best Computer Arts and this is the last month of the class. Even though I'm still a sapling, I love this field so much. So basically, At school I'm learning web design while at home I'm teaching myself web-developing. First thing first, returning to college seems impossible at the moment because of some financial problems. I'm pretty comfortable with CSS and HTML and I'm into PHP/MySQL at the moment. Could you please provide me a web-development Curriculum to follow. And do I need to learn about the theories behind? And I think I'm still young(I'm 18 at the time of writing). Is it a good thing or bad thing for choosing this path? I'm glad with my decision but in all honesty, I'm worrying about my future and employment because I'm an undergrad, coming from a country where companies are degree b!tches, it saddens me so. • Objective-C As A First OOP Language?

  I am just finishing the second semester of my CS degree. So far I learned C, all the fundamental algorithms and data structures (e.g., searching, sorting, linked lists, heaps, hash tables, trees, graphs, etc). Next year we'll start with OOP, using either Java or C++. Recently I got some ideas for some iPhone apps and got itchy to start working on them. However I heard some bad things about Objectice-C in the past, so I am wondering if learning it as my first OOP language could be a problem. Not to mention that I think it will be hard to find books/online courses that teach basic OOP concepts using Objective-C to illustrate the concepts (as opposed to books using Java or C++, which are plenty), so this could be another problem. In summary: should I start learning Objective-C and OOP concepts right now by my own, or wait one more semester until I learn Java/C++ at university and then jump into Objective-C? • Python vs. Perl in ten years time

  If you were starting learning a new language today, for scripting and doing "various stuff" with it (from making useful programs to it being glue to several command line programs), would you go with Python or Perl (or some third option, although the battle usually comes to these two)? I've never much used dynamic languages at all, having been able to do everything I needed in traditional static ones. Did some scripting in Perl a couple of years ago, but that was more of a momentary fling, than an attempt to learn it well. Now I've some free time, and have decided to go along with one of these two, and play a little with them. I like Perl's syntax, but Python does seem to be taking rather big steps on overtaking that area. What do you think, which one is more worth learning and why? Also, what do you think, what will be Python's future in about 10 years ... will it overtake Perl and other scripting languages's as a dominant tool for that kind of work (I more often than not find it being implemented in various applications I'm using - for internal scripting and automating loading of data and similar operations), or will it find a balance and coexist along others (Perl)? What is its current "momentum" - does it comes by default with Linux distributions, as Perl does, or does it needs to be installed separately every time? Is it a language which can be expected "to just be there"?

Is Perl still used with frequency? Is it still popular? Or is Perl dying out compared to languages like Python, Ruby, PHP, ASP, .NET, etc.? Basically it boils down to this: Is it still used/is it still used frequently? If yes, is it dying? If no, will it make a come back? Is it something that would be worth learning? How does it compare in demand to languages like Python in both popularity and usability/viability? Could languages like Python or Ruby be considered replacements for Perl? Also, will newer versions of Perl really bring a large improvement to the Perl community, and perhaps bring Perl back to centerstage compared to other languages? EDIT: Okay, I suppose here's a better, reworded question: Is Perl still growing, or is it "dying"? Is it still a language worth learning and using? What projects does it really "shine" in compared to other languages? What makes Perl a language to choose? Essentially: is Perl growing obsolete compared to other languages, and if so, do you expect that to change, or to continue?
