  • Accessing controls of .aspx file in .aspx.cs without any declaration.!!??

    I am able to access the controls of ".aspx" file in ".aspx.cs" directly without any declaration in ".aspx.cs" or in designer.cs. How is this possible? This is happeing only if I open website as using File System. Create a new ASP.NET web site application with Visual Studio 2008. So following three files will be created automatically              "Default.aspx",              "Default.aspx.cs"              "Default.designer.cs" Now Delete "Default.designer.cs" perminently. Just create a button in Default.aspx file    <asp:Button runat="server" Text="Save Plan" ID="btnSave" />   Close the Solution and open the website as File System.               File -> Open Web Site -> File System -> Select Web Site Folder and Open the project.                   Now btnSave is automatically recognized in Default.aspx.cs without any declaration in Default.aspx.cs as bellow                            System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button btnSave; How btnSave is being recognized by .cs file without defining it anywhere as an object of System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button? Assuming that there are also other keys existing without this keyword.     I am trying to create a site that will allow you to type a sentence or passage of text, then click on words to bring up a list of synonyms (from an online API) and possibly authorized abbreviations from a list that I provide, then once clicked on it would replace that word with the word that was clicked on. It would function kind of like After the Deadline or a Javascript based spell checker. Are there any libraries set up to make something like this easy, or what kind of Javascript do I need to be looking at? Are there any tutorials or examples for this kind of thing? I am aware that the source code for After the Deadline is available, but I only need a small portion of their technology, not all of the actual grammar and spelling check technology.

  • Finding "Stuff" In OUM

    One of the first questions people asked when they start using the Oracle Unified Method (OUM) is “how do I find X ?” Well of course no one is really looking for “X”!! but typically an OUM user might know the Task ID, or part of the Task Name, or maybe they just want to find out if there is any content within OUM that is related to a couple of keys words they have in their mind. Here are three quick tips I give people: 1. Open up one of the OUM Views, then click “Expand All”, and then use your Browser’s search function to locate a key Word. For example, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer: <CTRL> F, then type in a key Word, i.e. Architecture This is fast and easy option to use, but it only searches the current OUM page 2. Use the PDF view of OUM Open up one of the OUM Views, and then click the PDF View button located at the top of the View. Depending on your Browser’s settings, the PDF file will either open up in a new Window, or be saved to your local machine. In either case, once the PDF file is open, you can use the built in PDF search commands to search for key words across a large portion of the OUM Method Pack. This is great option for searching the entire Full Method View of OUM, including linked HTML pages, however the search will not included linked Documents, i.e. Word, Excel. 3. Use your operating systems file index to search for key words This is my favorite option, and one I use virtually every day. I happen to use Windows Search, but you could also use Google Desktop Search, of Finder on a MAC. All you need to do (on a Windows machine) is to make sure your local OUM folder structure is included in the Windows Index. Go to Control Panel, select Indexing Options, and ensure your OUM folder is included in the Index, i.e. C:/METHOD/OM40/OUM_5.6 Once your OUM folders are indexed, just open up Windows Search (or Google Desktop Search) and type in your key worlds, i.e. Unit Testing The reason I use this option the most is because the Search will take place across the entire content of the Indexed folders, included linked files.   • Long lines of text in source code [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: Is the 80 character limit still relevant in times of widescreen monitors? I used to set a vertical line set at 80 characters in my text editor and then I added carriage returns if the lines got too long. I later increased the value to 135 characters. I started using word wrap and not giving myself a limit but tried to keep lines short if I could because it took a lot of time shortening my lines. People at work use word wrap and don't give themselves a limit.. is this the correct way? What are you meant to do ? Many thanks.

Also I want it to print it out for every hour of the day. So like if the word dog appeared 4 times during the first hour of today, it says Hour one, dog 4. Finally at the end of the script I want it to print out how many times those words appeared all day.   • Unable to Connect to Management Studio Server

    I have a nasty situation. I am using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express edition locally on my pc for testing, and once tested I upload database changes to a remote server. I have a situation where I deleted the Default Database on my local machine, and instead of searching hard enough to find an answer to that problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled Management Studio. Since then Management Studio has not been able to connect to the server. Is there any help (or hope for me for that matter), out there????? The following is the detailed error message: =================================== Cannot connect to LENOVO-E7A54767\SQLEXPRESS. =================================== A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.     I was reading the comments and answers to this question, and among them I found this: "And Java never was cool, simply because it threw the hacking part out of programming" and this: "And javascript is very hackerish language so after developing your frontend you feel very constraint when you return to java." What's the "hacking part" in programming, and what makes a language "hackerish"? What are some good examples of languages and features in languages that you would call "hackerish"? (Someone might say that I shouldn't be confused by the word "hackerish", that's it's not really a "proper" English word or something like that, but that's besides the point)

  • Accessing controls of .aspx file in .aspx.cs without any declaration.!!??

    I am able to access the controls of ".aspx" file in ".aspx.cs" directly without any declaration in ".aspx.cs" or in designer.cs. How is this possible? This is happeing only if I open website as using File System. Create a new ASP.NET web site application with Visual Studio 2008. So following three files will be created automatically              "Default.aspx",              "Default.aspx.cs"              "Default.designer.cs" Now Delete "Default.designer.cs" perminently. Just create a button in Default.aspx file    <asp:Button runat="server" Text="Save Plan" ID="btnSave" />   Close the Solution and open the website as File System.               File -> Open Web Site -> File System -> Select Web Site Folder and Open the project.                   Now btnSave is automatically recognized in Default.aspx.cs without any declaration in Default.aspx.cs as bellow                            System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button btnSave; How btnSave is being recognized by .cs file without defining it anywhere as an object of System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button?
