• Git is failing to push in puttycyg because of SSH error

  I've been using puttycyg as a Cygwin terminal for my rails development. I've set up a git repository on a project management website and now I want to push my code to it with the following command: git push origin master I'm getting the following error: error: cannot run ssh: No such file or directory fatal: unable to fork I know ssh is used for authentication but I don't know if I need to set anything up to use it.

In textmate, you have mate project_dir which opens the project in a side drawer, so my question is: Is there a similar feature in mvim? How can a complete project managed in traditionally in macvim? • What module(s) do I need to include to get 5.seconds to work in Ruby?

  Because apparently require 'date' doesn't include the method hours or seconds etc: undefined method `hours' for 5:Fixnum (NoMethodError) Am I missing something? Is 5.seconds only something you can do in Rails? If so, what is the require statement I need to get this to work in a ruby script?

  There are plenty of resources available to a Java developer for getting a jump-start into Ruby/Rails development. The reverse doesn't appear to be true. What resources would you suggest for getting up-to-date on the current state of java technologies? How about learning how to approach DRY (don't repeat yourself) without the use of metaprogramming? Or how to approach various scenarios where a ruby developer is used to passing in a function (proc/lambda/block) as an argument (callbacks, etc)?

• Hiding specific files in TextMate

  I do a lot of JRuby on Rails apps, and we have a fair amount of Java .jar dependencies. These become quite annoying in textmate as it really muddies up my lib directory, and I never (obviously) need to actually open these files. Can someone tell me how I might hide .jar files from my file listing in Textmate??

• In Sinatra - does anyone use test fixtures? how is your test suite set up?

• Syntax highlighting in gedit not working automatically

  Hi, I'm trying to use Ubuntu for Rails development and I'm liking gedit except the syntax highlighting does not seem to work with out me setting it for each file I open. Should it not recognize a .rb file a ruby file rather than me having to go into the menu and setting it as such? Have I missed a setting somewhere? Thanks

• Creating has_many relationships in ActiveRecord without :primary_key

  I'm working with an older version of Rails and ActiveRecord that does not have the :primary_key option in has_many relationships of more recent ActiveRecord versions and unfortunately I don't get to control when we upgrade.
