    I need to upgrade my existing wireless infrastructure and this time I want 2 access points to cover my house, since I get blind spots no matter what with a single AP. I have physical cabling to my central network available for both access points. I would really like these two to interoperate seamlessly as a single SSID. How do I do this? What are the features that the new access points I'm buying would need to support?

  • Distro List - can a member be blind copied?

    Is it possible to set up a distro list on an exchange server to send a blind copy to one of the recipients? For example: I'd like to have a distro go to Help, Support, and IT. However, I don't want the sender to know it goes to Help if they expand the distro in the To: field. I know this is most likely impossible, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

What is the easiest of removing the password from a PDF (I know the password, which presumably helps a lot). It's a bit annoying buying a book and then only being able to read it in front of a computer.

  • Watchguard XTM blocking login attempts

    routinely I'm seeing lots of login attempts to my mail server trying out various login names starting from A to Z coming from the one IP on one day and another IP on another day. Is there any means to detect this type of activities and block accordingly? I asked Watchguard and it appears they don't support this on their XTM series. Anything else I can do other than to have a super long password?

    Hi, I need to rewrite https://mydomain1.com/chanagepassword to https://mydomain2.com/ssp then hide the url mydomain2.com/cp in browser and show https://mydomain1.com/chanagepassword. I got the first part working with the rule: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule /changepassword https://mydomain2.com/ssp/ [R=301,L] However it shows https://mydomain2.com/ssp url on browser. How can I mask this and show https://mydomain1.com/chanagepassword Please support. Thanks.

  • What causes Mac OS X Permission errors?

    This is out of interest rather then looking for a fix to a problem. What actually causes permissions on Mac OS X Systems to become messed up? Its an easily fixed problem (i.e. there's a quick and easy fix via Disk Utility) but its something I'd encountered a few times doing support in a Mac-reseller store without actually understanding the causes. I'd guess that part of it is due to some applications not playing nicely, but what else might be the source of this issue?

    I need to update/patch the firmware of a lot of Sun/Oracle systems quite frequently. To do that I first need to download the latest firmware snapshot by hand from Oracle's saggy and unsophisticated "My Oracle Support" (list of all firmware snapshots can be found at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/patches/firmware/release-history-jsp-138416.html).   • Can all notebooks record from the sound card?

    Is it possible that a modern notebook (say built in the last 5 years) contains a (onboard) sound card that it is not possible to record from? I've always assumed that this is a very basic capability, but since I can't get it to work, I would like to check that before I put any more effort into it. In case it matters, my notebook is an ASUS UL50VT, I'm trying with Sound Recorder and Audacity under Ubuntu, but I am, at this point, not asking for "Try that"-support or software recommendations.

  • How can I determine the sector size on an external hard drive?

    Hard drives are transitioning from 512 byte to 4096 byte sector sizes, and it looks like Windows XP won't support these newer drives without additional software (such as WDalign from Western Digital) My question is: how does this affect external hard drives? I'll be buying a 1TB USB external drive, and it'll be plugged into a mix of Windows 7 and XP machines. Is there an easy way to tell what the sector size on an external hard drive is?

Everything is doing great but there is a problem with email web clients the most popular ones(gmail, yahoo, hotmail) are not optimized for screen readers.     I'm using Debian Linux and I want to convert a CSV file to an Excel XLS Spreadsheet file. The catdoc package includes the xls2csv command that converts from XLS to CSV. However it doesn't do the reverse. Since I just have a CSV file, I don't care about formatting or anything like that. I'm not worried if it only generates a very simple XLS file, and doesn't support the fancy new versions. Just so long as it's an XLS spreadsheet.

  • Ubuntu 9.10 upgraded with Internet connection fail

    I am pretty sure that the latest Ubuntu release does not support my wireless internet card. Everything was working fine in 9.04 and since upgrading my browser will load web pages. I can see and connect to my wep encrypted network. I can ping google.com and lose no packets. I am at the end of my tether, what else can I try? Is it possible to download a driver to re-enable my wireless?

    I found a list of versions and their Solaris release numbers http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19253-01/819-5461/appendixa-1/index.html I know that you can grow a pool by replacing drives with larger ones or adding new drives or mirrors to the pool. I heard that ZFS did not yet support shrinking pools by removing drives/mirrors. But that has probably been changed. Which version (if any) released the ability to shrink a pool?

    I am running a 15" MacBook Pro (2.66GHz) and 4GB of RAM. I am considering downgrading to a 13 MacBook Pro (2.4GHz) with 8GB of RAM. Most of what I do at work is through Windows and I need to run it virtually. So my real question is when running a virtual machine will the virtual processor be utilizing RAM or part of the hosts processor? My assumption is that it will utilize the allocated RAM but I have seen zero documentation to support that.

Since I envision starting to use a smartphone (Android) based IMAP client which doesn't support folders or message filters I'd like to move these filters server side and take them off the clients.     I'd like to extend my WiFi coverage, so I've bought the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND and updated its firmware to the latest (wr1043nv1_en_3_13_4_up(110429)) but I can't find how to use its WDS function. Reading further on Super User I understand that both the modem-router (Pirelli Alice Gate) and the TL-WR1043ND should support WDS. Are there any tricks to achieve the same result - extending my WiFi range - even changing the firmware to DD-WRT or Tomato etc?

    I have this application that lists files in a WindowsForms listbox (NET framework). The application does not support the copy operation if multiple files are selected in the listbox, but at the same time, the application supports 'drag and drop' event for multiple files (allows dragging the files 'out of the application'). How can I extract the paths of the files 'dragged out of the application'? (i.e. I drop the files on some program / script that shows me the paths / saves the paths to a txt file).
