• How can I connect a wired PC to the internet through my Macs wifi connection?

  So I'll probably be buying a USB wifi adapater if I can't get this to work, but I'm trying. I have a wireless router at home and my Macbook Pro is connected to said wifi. My desktop doesn't have a wifi connection, but I've connected my macbook with my desktop via crossover cable. I enabled internet sharing on my macbook, but my Windows 7 desktop can't get a connection. I tried just regular file sharing and that works fine, but the internet sharing doesn't. I assume the goal is to get my PC to see my mac as the default gateway, but I've had no luck manually setting it.   I want to build a list from maillog, maillog.x containing something like Date, Sender's email, Recipient's Email and subject of the message filtering output emails and output domain. I've read about importing from spreadsheet program a cvs file. The issue is I have to add field separators in log file. I couldn't find how to customize that. How can I do that, the list and the separator? • URL subfolder rewrite without server access

  I am having trouble with the following. I have a site in development that has every link on the site pointing to the wrong folder. Example: example.com/en/home/, a site link goes to example.com/en/, which throws a 404. Now the way the system is setup requires server access but I do not have that and I/S is backlogged with requests and will take a week. But I still need to develop the site. So is there a way to have the browser recognize when example.com/en/ is clicked then automatically redirect it to example.com/en/home so it bypasses the 404 and I can actually work. Im looking for anything that gets the job done. I am considering developing a Chrome app to do this but that would mean a shit ton of overtime and more work I don't want to do. Is there a easier way of doing this?

• Reverse Proxy (mod_rewrite) and Rails (absolute paths)

  I have front end rails app, that reverse proxies to any of a number of backend rails apps depending on URL, for example http://www.my_host.com/app_one reverse proxies to http://www.remote_host_running_app_one.com such that a URL like http://www.my_host.com/app_one/users will display the contents of http://www.remote_host_running_app_one.com/users I have a large, and ever expanding number of backends, so they can not be explicitly listed anywhere other than a database. This is no problem for mod_rewrite using a prg:/ rewrite map reverse proxy. The question is, the urls returned by rails helpers have the form /controller/action making them absolute to the root. This is a problem for the page served by mod_rewrite because links on the proxied page appear as absolute to the domain. i.e.: http://www.my_host.com/app_one/controller/action has links that end up looking like /controller/action/ when they need to look like /app_one/controller/action mod_proxy_html seems like the right idea, but it doesn't seem to be as dynamic as I would need, since the rules need to be hard coded into the config files. Is there a way to fix this server-side, so that the links will be routed correctly?

• Can anyone list some real examples of 'HTML5' being used in the wild?

  I am using HTML5 in the same way everyone seems to be using it these days, meaning: HTML5 tags, Canvas / 3D / javascript and CSS3. I am struggling to find examples of sites that are using these technologies practically and that are not just a demo of something cool someone has managed to do using Canvas or CSS3 transforms or shapes. I am looking for sites that have a nice visual look but also take advantage of things like animation, scrolling and offset à la Silverback or the Canvas to create an interactive and I guess 'Flash-looking' site.   I might buy an SSL certificate for my sie. I know that it will help me in many ways. But will there be dis-advantages also? eg. If I load an image from another server (using plain http), will that alert the customer saying something is wrong? Will I be able to use all existing codes like phpbb, awstats etc without a problem? Will there be any issue if redirect a page from my domain.com to my subdomain.domain.com using a meta refresh or .htaccess? • My cPanel login is being redirected. How can I resolve this?

  I'm trying to get to cPanel to manage my website. When I type www.mydomain.com:2082 into the browser window, the request seems to be redirected. I made a screen-cast so I could slow down the changes in the address bar. First it seems to go to http://www.mydomain.com:2082/login then http://www.mydomain.com/cgi-sys/login.cgi At this point, a screen briefly appears which says 'Login attempt failed' and then the address is redirected to https://this22.thishost.com:2083/, which is no relation to my site at all. This looks to me like there has been an attack on the system and the login.cgi file is compromised. Any suggestions on how to analyze this further? or fix it? Of course my 'free hosting' isn't any help at all.

  My Domain example.com points to the directory public_html. In the directory public_html/php is my index.php file. Now I want that the URL example.com points to *public_html/php/index.php*. I must do this with mod_rewrite because I have no access to the httpd.conf to do something wth Alias oder DocumentBase. In the directory public_html is my .htacces filewith the following content: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} exaple.com$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /php/index.php [L,QSA] This do half of the job, because when I enter something like example.com/s in my browser it points to *public_html/php/index.php* as I want it to do. But when I just enter example.com it points to *public_html*. What can I do to fix this?
