  • Starting timer from another project

    I have to projects in my .net windows forms, in one form(1st Project) i have timer control already running. On some request i want to start that timer from the form1 of (second project). If we are creating new object in second project for the 1st project(Which is currently in running thread) we will not be able to start the timer for the current instance. How can we access the current running instance from my 2nd project. Please suggest me some method

    I have an app running with: one instance of nginx as the frontend (serving static file) a cluster of node.js application for the backend (using cluster and expressjs modules) one instance of Postgres as the DB Is this architecture sufficient if the application needs scalability (this is only for HTTP / REST requests) for: 500 request per seconds (each requests only fetches data from the DB, those data could be several ko, and with no big computation needed after the fetch). 20000 users connected at the same time Where could be the bottlenecks ?

  • Problem with user logins after db Restore

    I have two SQL 2005 instances that reside on different networks. I need to backup a database from instance A and restore it to a database in instance B on a weekly basis so that both databases hold the same data. After the restore, logins SIDS on database B are changed and therefore users can't log into database B and connection strings for the web application it supports are broken. Is there a work around for this? Thanks.

    The goal: I want to convert a number from the format "10.234,56" to "10234.56" Using this simple approach almost gets us there /([\d\.]+),(\d\d)/ => '\1.\2' The problem is that the first group of the match (of course) still contains the '.' character. So questions are: Is it possible to exclude a character from the group somehow? How would you solve this with a single regexp (I know this is a trivial problem when not using a single regexp)

    Before the days of Aero Snap you would need to arrange your Windows in some weird way to see all of your files. Today we show you how to quickly use the Aero Snap feature get it done in few key strokes in Windows 7. You can of course navigate the windows in Explorer to get them so you can see everything side by side, or use a free utility like Cubic Explorer.   Getting Explorer Windows Side by Side The process is actually simple but quite useful when looking for a large amount of data. Right-click the Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar and click Windows Explorer. Our first window opens up and you can certainly drag it over the the right or left side of the screen but the quickest method we’re using is the “Windows Key+Right Arrow” key combo (make sure to hold the Windows key down). Now the Windows is nicely placed on the right side. Next we want to open the other window, simply right-click the Explorer icon again and click Windows Explorer.   Now we have our second window open, and all we need to do this time is use the Windows Key+Left Arrow combination. There we go! Now you should be able to browse your files a lot more simply than relying on the expanding tree method (as much). You can actually use this method to snap a window to all four corners of your screen if you don’t feel like dragging it.
