  • Why can't I get my Azure, WCF, REST, SSL project working? What am I doing wrong?

    I'm trying to get SSL, WCF and REST under Azure, but the page won't even load. Here are the steps I followed: 1) I mapped the www.mydomain.com CNAME to my azuresite.cloudapp.net 2) I procured an SSL certificate for www.mydomain.com and properly installed it at my azuresite.cloudapp.net hosted service project 3) I deployed my WCF REST service to Azure and started it. Below is my web.config configuration. The http (non-https) binding version worked correctly. My service URL, http: //www.mydomain .com/service.svc/sessions worked just fine. When I deployed the project with the web.config below, enabling SSL, https: //www.mydomain .com/service.svc/sessions does not even pull up at all.   • Problem Upgrading NHibernate SQLite Application to .Net 4.0

    I have a WPF Application using Fluent NHibernate 1.0 RTM and System.Data.SQLite 1.0.65 that works fine in .Net 3.5. When I try to upgrade it to .Net 4.0 everything compiles but I get a runtime error where the innermost exception is this: `The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SQLite could not be found.` The only change made to the project was switching the Target Framework to 4.0.

    I'm playing with PhoneGap and emberjs (trying to build "proof of concept" mobile/HTML5 application based on ember.js). Ember.js itself works fine, but I haven't found any good way to "bind" PhoneGap events to views. For instance, I would like to handle backbutton event and remove a view on it. It would be nice to define behavior in view class and call document.addEventListener when instance of the view is appended and call document.removeEventListener when view instance removed.

I implemented as mentioned at several places the: target-densityDpi=device-dpi < meta content="minimum-scale=1.0, width=device-width, , target- densityDpi=device-dpi, maximum-scale=0.6667, user-scalable=no" name="viewport" / it works great within the 'android browser' but in my Webview Application it still resize!!   • Duplicate System.Web.UI.AsyncPostBackTrigger Controls keep getting inserted automatically, causing P

    I have an update panel with a number of [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and everything was working fine. But now, something keeps inserting duplicate AsyncTriggers, and instead of simply being [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls they're [System.Web.UI.AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and I get parser errors as a result. So I delete the duplicate triggers, and they get re-inserted within a few minutes, seemingly randomly. Anyone know whats going on here?

I see a message that asks for permissions to connect, but when I select yes, it doesn't connect. I even checked on the server, but no connection was provided. My application isn't signed.     I've used the developer tools on Chrome, FF and IE, and on IE, it's extremely slow. I was trying to debug iGoogle and it took about 3 minutes to even open the tools page. Can anyone confirm that it's that slow? It works fine on small websites though.

  • Marshalling polymorphic objects in JAX-WS

    I'm creating a JAX-WS type webservice, with operations that return an object WebServiceReply. The class WebServiceReply itself contains a field of type Object. The individual operations would populate that field with a few different data-types, depending on the operation. Publishing the WSDL (I'm using Netbeans 6.7), and getting a ASP.NET application to retrieve and parse the WSDL was fine, but when I tried to call an operation, I would receive the following exception: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: javax.xml.bind.MarshalException - with linked exception: [javax.xml.bind.JAXBException: class [LDataObject.Patient; nor any of its super class is known to this context.] How do I mark the annotations in the DataObject.Patient class, as well as the WebServiceReply class to get it to work? I haven't been able to fine a definitive resource on marshalling based upon annotations within the target classes either, so it would be great if anybody could point me to that too. JAXB worked properly after that! Nonetheless, I'm still learning about JAXB marshalling in JAX-WS, so it would be great if anyone can still post any tutorial on this. Gregory: you might want to add-on to your answer that the return objects need to sub-class from ReturnValueBase. Thanks a lot for your help! I had been going bonkers over this problem for so long!

  • A simple Python deployment problem - a whole world of pain

    We have several Python 2.6 applications running on Linux. Some of them are Pylons web applications, others are simply long-running processes that we run from the command line using nohup. We're also using virtualenv, both in development and in production. What is the best way to deploy these applications to a production server? In development we simply get the source tree into any directory, set up a virtualenv and run - easy enough. We could do the same in production and perhaps that really is the most practical solution, but it just feels a bit wrong to run svn update in production. We've also tried fab, but it just never works first time. For every application something else goes wrong. It strikes me that the whole process is just too hard, given that what we're trying to achieve is fundamentally very simple. Here's what we want from a deployment process. We should be able to run one simple command to deploy an updated version of an application. (If the initial deployment involves a bit of extra complexity that's fine.) When we run this command it should copy certain files, either out of a Subversion repository or out of a local working copy, to a specified "environment" on the server, which probably means a different virtualenv. We have both staging and production version of the applications on the same server, so they need to somehow be kept separate. If it installs into site-packages, that's fine too, as long as it works. We have some configuration files on the server that should be preserved (ie. not overwritten or deleted by the deployment process). Some of these applications import modules from other applications, so they need to be able to reference each other as packages somehow. This is the part we've had the most trouble with! I don't care whether it works via relative imports, site-packages or whatever, as long as it works reliably in both development and production. Ideally the deployment process should automatically install external packages that our applications depend on (eg. psycopg2). That's really it! How hard can it be?

Both call a method from another class, one works perfectly fine and the other gives the error java.lang.ClassNotFoundException and the error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/common/base/Predicate The class path should be the same for both as they are in he same package so I can't figure out why one has access to the class and the other doesn't? thanks in advance for any help given.

  • WMI: Editing the Registry Remotely

    I'm trying to use the following code (poorly written, but it's just a proof of concept) to edit the registry of a computer on a domain. I have a domain account, and I've verified that the domain admin group is present in the local admin group on the machines I'm attempting to affect. I've connected to these other machines to perform other administrative type tasks, so I'm sure that I have administrative privileges on these hosts. All of StdRegProv's "get" methods work fine (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa393664%28VS.85%29.aspx) but the "set" or "create" methods as well as check access all return "5" which is "Error_Access_Denied" according to winerror.h. So there's the problem: why do I get access denied when attempting to modify the registry? If anyone can help me figure this out, you'd have my utmost appreciation! I almost forgot, when I fire up Visual Studio in admin mode on my local machine and run the code against the local machine, it works flawlessly.
