• Collecting and viewing statistical data on website usage? Want to give Google Analytics the boot.

  I have always been somewhat reluctant to "outsource" site statistics to Google. We have an Apache server running on a Windows server. I am pretty sure all the foundation to collect the needed visitor data are there. I would like to stop using GA, and use some form of application where the data does not travel to a third party but remains at the host, or at least travels to the remote administrator, if it is a log analyzer in a browser. What are my options?

  On Windows Server 2008 R2, my IT administrator has installed a certificate using the windows certificate management tool. The certificate is for *.thedomain.com. He set it up as not exportable for security reasons: I'm not suposed to be able to put my hands on the certificate. This configuration would allow me to use the certificate with microsoft products, but not to go away with the certificate. Q: It there a way to configure Apache 2 to use this certificate "the windows way"?

  Is it possible to trace which file or process or database query is effecting the load on a VPS? I am using Centos with 512 MB Guarantee Memory and 1 GB burst Memory, I am running 3 wordpress sites from it, where all are having daily traffic of 30-100 visitors each, After every 2-3 days I need to restart my VPS because the resources are taking high usage of memory, I tried running top command and it shows Apache as high, But is it possible to check which website is taking load?   I'm seeing some errors in my apache logs and they may (or may not) be related to some packages that I recently installed/removed using Yum. Is there a way to view the history of Yum packages that have been updated/installed/removed ? I could use the "history" command from unix, but some installations may have been done with different accounts. I've tried searching the web and reading the man page too but haven't found anything.

  I'm trying to learn PHP and I'm just in the process of installing apache,msql and PHP. I'm on a mac osx 10.7.2 Processor 2.26 GHz intel core 2 due I downloaded: mysql-5.5.18-osx10.6-x86_64.dmg I'm now at the point of setting the root password and when I type in: sudo: mysql_secure_installation it asks me to enter my password, then it says: sudo: mysql_secure_installation: command not found Any help would be appreciated. I installed Xcode, MacPorts, and then followed the instructions here: http://wiki.apache.org/couchdb/Installing_on_OSX It all worked fine until I tried to visit the web interface: http://127.0.0.1:5984/_utils/index.html Google chrome said "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 127.0.0.1:5984" I tried connecting using telnet in bash and it said connection refused.   I have a plugin that gets pushed to all clients. However, I have one that's specific to a particular module, hence I don't want it synced with all my clients. My generic plugin is stored in /etc/puppet/modules/custom/lib/facter but I have a plugin stored inside a module that seems to be pushed to all clients regardless if the host inherits the class or not.   I'm trying to host an application, but allow the customer to use their own sub domain so that it does not confuse their own customers. So for example, by application would run on app.mydomain.com, but my customer would access it via their own subdomain (app.somedomain.com and/or app.anotherdomain.com). Is this even possible? • How do I remove the ServerSignature added by mod_fcgid?

  I'm running Mod_Security and I'm using the SecServerSignature to customize the Server header that Apache returns. This part works fine, however I'm also running mod_fcgid which appends "mod_fcgid/2.3.5" to the header. Is there any way I can turn this off? Setting ServerSignature off doesn't do anything. I was able to get it to go away by changing the ServerTokens but that removed the customization I had added.

  I'm trying to measure would it be better to have prefork or worker mpm apache module for the server I'm working on, which is Amazon X-Large 15 GB memory 8 EC2 Compute Units (4 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each) and that will run a Magento website with about 50 active users at once.
