    Newbie here. I have the following code: myADC = 128 maxVoltage = 5.0 maxADC = 255.0 VoltsPerADC = maxVoltage/maxADC myVolts = myADC * VoltsPerADC print "myADC = {0: >3}".format(myADC) print "VoltsPerADC = {0: >7}".format(VoltsPerADC) print VoltsPerADC print "myVolts = {0: >7}".format(myVolts) print myVolts This outputs the following: myADC = 128 VoltsPerADC = 0.0196078 0.0196078431373 myVolts = 2.5098 2.50980392157 I have been searching for an explanation of how the number of significant digits is determined by default, but have had trouble locating an explanation that makes sense to me. This link link text suggests that by default the "print" statement prints numbers to 10 significant figures, but that does not seem to be the case in my results. How are the number of significant digits/precision determined? Can someone shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance for your time and patience.

    I want to automate the process of plone3_buildout. Explanation: The default(the one I use) way of building a plone site is using paster, like so: paster create -t plone3_buildout This asks me a few questions and then create a default buildout for the site. What I want: I want to automate this process using buildout. My buildout will execute this paster command, feed in my preconfigured values to the paster. I haven't found a recipe which can do this. If someone has an idea of how to do this, please share the info. If there is a recipe which can feed values to interactive commands(with known output, like with plone3_buildout command), that would be useful too.

    Basically I've got the below schema and I'm inserting records if they don't exists. However when it comes to inserting a duplicate it throws and error as I would expect. My question is whether there is an easy way to make Hibernate to just ignore inserts which would in effect insert duplicates?     I've got the following Setup in my Theme: \App_Themes\Default\StyleSheet.css \App_Themes\Default\PrintStyleSheet.css The PrintStyleSheet.css file has a set of printing css rules set in them wrapped in an @Media Print { } block. I need a way to programmatically remove the PrintStyleSheet.css from the list of css files for ASP.NET to inject based on some flags. (Some instances we want to print the site verbatim without custom formatting). I know i could build a seperate theme without the PrintStyleSheet.css in it and switch the theme programmatically, however this would introduce duplication of my master stylesheet which is not acceptable. Any ideas?

    When the following XAML used, the window size is not 5000x5000, but some small window where the button is cropped. <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" > <Button Width="5000" Height="5000">XXX</Button> </Window> From what I can tell, size I did not specify the SizeToContent attribute, the default is "Manual", so it will use *size of a window is determined by other properties, including Width, Height, MaxWidth, MaxHeight, MinWidth, and MinHeight. * From the WPF Windows Overview, it seems those other properties are FrameworkElement::MinHeight/Width, and FrameworkElement::MaxHeight. But since the default for the Mins are 0, the Maxs are Infinity and the Width/Height is Nan....what's going on? Where is WPF getting the window size? Any pointers to the right direction would be appreciated.

    Hi, I need to deploy a Windows Forms application using ClickOnce deployment. (VS2008, .NET 3.5) And I need to provide a configuration file for this app that any user can modify. For this reason, I am using Application Settings instead of standard appSetttings in app.config so I can separate the the user config from app config. see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms228995(VS.80).aspx Creating a Settings.settings file using VS generated a class with hard-coded default values like this: [global::System.Configuration.DefaultSettingValueAttribute("blahblah")] public string MyProperty ... WTF? I want to read the default values from the app.config! So I created my own class deriving from ApplicationSettingsBase but I cannot get this to read values from the app.config. Any ideas?

    I have a MySQL InnoDB table laid out like so: id (int), run_id (int), element_name (varchar), value (text), line_order, column_order `MyDB`.`MyTable` ( `id` bigint(20) NOT NULL, `run_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `element_name` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `value` text, `line_order` int(11) default NULL, `column_order` int(11) default NULL It is used to store data generated by a Java program that used to output this in CSV format, hence the line_order and column_order. Lets say I have 2 entries (according to the table description): 1,1,'ELEMENT 1','A',0,0 2,1,'ELEMENT 2','B',0,1 I want to pivot this data in a view for reporting so that it would look like more like the CSV would, where the output would look this: --------------------- |ELEMENT 1|ELEMENT 2| --------------------- | A | B | --------------------- The data coming in is extremely dynamic; it can be in any order, can be any of over 900 different elements, and the value could be anything. The Run ID ties them all together, and the line and column order basically let me know where the user wants that data to come back in order.

    I have defined an enum in a header file of a class : typedef enum{ RED = 0, BLUE, Green } Colors; - (void) switchTest:(Colors)testColor; and in the implementation file I have : - (void) switchTest:(Colors)testColor{ if(testColor == RED){ NSLog(@"Red selected"); } switch(testColor){ case RED: NSLog(@"Red selected again !"); break; default: NSLog(@"default selected"); break; } } My code compiles correctly without warrnings. When calling the switchTest method with RED, the output is : "Red selected" but once the first line of the switch runs, the application quits unexpectedly and without warrnings/errors. I don't mind using if/else syntax but I would like to understand my mistake.

    Just installed Eclipse Helios (Win7 64) and I'm having a strange problem. I type syso-Ctrl-Space which is expected to complete to System.out.println("") but it doesn't work! I searched the web for about an hour now, I set Preferences Java Editor Content Assist to defaults, nothing. Everything else seems to work. Ideas? To be clear: the shortcut works, it completes everything except "syso" as seen so far, on syso (also tried sysout) it says "No Default Proposals". I couldn't find this kind of shortcuts in the Content Assist, but I set them to default anyway.

    Hi, I searched a lot around the web but I couldn't find any specific sollution to this. In CakePHP 1.3, different from 1.2, if you had a controller inside a plugin, and both had the same name, you could access through "<plugin>/<action>", and it would call the 'default' controller. But in 1.3, according to this: http://cakeqs.org/eng/questions/view/setting_up_magic_routes_for_plugins_in_cakephp_1_3 It was removed, and only the 'index' action in the default plugin controller can be accessed this way. I thought about adding extra code in my routes.php file, and loop through all the plugins in my app, making such routes for every action in the controllers named after the plugin, but it doesn't seem like it's the right thing to do... any other suggestions to make this work in 1.3? or at least some very specific code documentation of this particular change? I've already read something in the 1.3.0-RC4 annoucement, but it was not clear enough.. thanks

    Named works great. It creates a pid in /var/run/named/named.pid as expected. It is listening on port 953 as shown by the log: Apr 20 14:42:38 guchuko named[9115]: command channel listening on 127.0.0.1#953 But whenever I try to run "rndc reload" I get: rndc: 'reload' failed: permission denied What file is it being denied permission to ? It doesn't log anything so I don't know why it's not working.   • ICalendar parser in PHP that supports timezones

    I am looking for a PHP class that can parse an ICalendar (ICS) file and correctly handle timezones. I already created an ICS parser myself but it can only handle timezones known to PHP (like 'Europe/Paris'). Unfortunately, ICS file generated by Evolution (default calendar software of Ubuntu) does not use default timezone IDs. It exports events with its a specific timezone ID exporting also the full definition of the timezone: daylight saving dates, recurrence rule and all the hard stuff to understand about timezones. This is too much for me. Since it was only a small utility for my girlfriend, I won't have time to investigate further the ICalendar specification and create a full blown ICalendar parser myself. So is there any known implementation in PHP of ICalendar file format that can parse timezones definitions?
