  • Alternatives to Google Earth for sat image

    I've been asked to add Google Earth images to a desktop app (civil engineering modelling app) I was under the impression that Google's license didn't allow you to do this. Are there any other easily accessible, and similarly high resolution, image sources anyone can recommend (Blue Marble, terraserver) ? As a bonus, any library that lets me use coordinates in a range of local map datums and convert them to Lat/Long without me having to incorporate the whole of CGAL?

    Hi I am using GDI Image::Save Method to save the images to the file in my Application. I am getting Win32Error (7) status error in few instances with Vista 64 bit. One of the options would be to use a template.     Hello everybody I am trying to exclude a certain string from a file search. Suppose I have a list of files: file_Michael.txt, file_Thomas.txt, file_Anne.txt. I want to be able and write something like ls *<and not Thomas>.txt to give me file_Michael.txt and file_Anne.txt, but not file_Thomas.txt. The reverse is easy: ls *Thomas.txt Doing it with a single character is also easy: ls *[^s].txt But how to do it with a string? Sebastian

    Any ideas on how to create a cover that has alpha 100 but is able to let a button behind it be touched, and an action to be called. i dont want to apply the action to the cover, nor change the buttons image - as a convaluted set up is required for each one. any ideas? what im after is effective not a see-through button, but a touch through button...     The Twitter Search api returns results in ATOM/XML format which look like this: <author> <name>username (Friendly Name)</name> <uri>http://twitter.com/username</uri> </author> In my PHP I can get the name field as a variable, so it would look like this: $names = "username (Friendly Name)" But I want to use PHP to extract them as seperate variables, like this: $username = "username" $friendlyName = "Friendly Name" (without parantheses) TIA!

    Hello, Got nothing better to do this Christmas holiday, so I decided to try out making a binary search tree. I'm stuck with the print function. How should the logic behind it work? Since the tree is already inserting it in a somewhat sorted order, and I want to print the tree from smallest values to the biggest. So I need to travel to the furthest left branch of the tree to print the first value. Right, so after that how do I remember the way back up, do I need to save the previous node? A search in wikipedia gave me an solution which they used stack. And other solutions I couldn't quite understand how they've made it, so I'm asking here instead hoping someone can enlight me. I also wonder my insert function is OK.
