  How can I count nested list elements in prolog? I have the following predicates defined, which will count a nested list as one element: length([ ], 0). length([H|T],N) :- length(T,M), N is M+1. Usage: ?- length([a,b,c],Out). Out = 3 This works, but I would like to count nested elements as well i.e. length([a,b,[c,d,e],f],Output). ?- length([a,b,[c,d,e],f],Output). Output = 6

  I'm trying to use jquery to loop through a block of forms that contain numeric data and add it all up to be displayed in a form with id grand. I have the ability to dynamically add new forms, so the number of forms I'm looping through will change. • How to capture a click on a link on a temporary layer that is hidden when the focus changes

  We have a layer that appears when a certain text input has the focus and that should dissappear when the input loses the focus. I tried to do it like this: <input type="text" onblur="document.getElementById('hideme').style.display='none'" /> <div id="hideme">Textextext <a href="http://disney.com/">disney</a> text</div> My problem is: when the user clicks on the link link, the browser does not follow this link. It seems the layer disappears before the browser checks where the click goes. What can I do here? One idea would be to watch whether the mouse enters the hideme div and not to close it when the mouse cursor is in there, but this seems way to complicated. Do you have a better idea? By the way: you can try it out very easy by pasting this into the Tryit Editor of w3schools. :-)

  Hi, I've got some HTML that looks like this. <li class="t-item t-first"> <div class="t-top"> <span class="t-icon t-plus"></span> <span class="t-in">Offshore</span> </div> <input type="hidden" value="41393" name="itemValue" class="t-input"> </li> The HTML is a single item from a treeview created by Telerik. The real data here is that "Offshore" has an id of "41393". From the Telerik code I get the span-element with class"t-in", but I'm unable to get the ID-value from it. How can I use jQuery to find the value of the hidden input type?

• How to get number of rows deleted from mysql in shell script

  Hi all I can't work out how to get the mysql client to return the number of rows deleted to the shell when running a delete. Does anyone know what option will enable this? Or ways around it? Here's what i'm trying, but i get no output: #!/bin/bash deleted=`mysql mydb -e "delete from mytable where insertedtime < '2010-04-01 00:00:00'"|tail -n 1` I was expecting something like this as the output from mysql: deleted 999999 Which is why i have the tail -n 1 so i only pick up the count and not the column name. When running the command by hand (mysql mydb -e "delete from mytable where insertedtime < '2010-04-01 00:00:00'") there is no output. When running the command interactively when running the mysql client i ge the following: mysql>delete from mytable where insertedtime < '2010-04-01 00:00:00'; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) I want to get the rows affected count into my shell variable. Any help would be most appreciated.

  Hi all, I have used the following statements to get the current time. print "$query executed successfully at ",localtime; print "$query executed successfully at ",(localtime); print "$query executed successfully at ".(localtime); Output executed successfully at 355516731103960 executed successfully at 355516731103960 executed successfully at Wed Apr 7 16:55:35 2010 The first two statements are not printing the current time in a date format. Third statement only giving the correct output in a date format. My understanding is the first one is returning a value in scalar context,so it is returning numbers. Then in the second print I used localtime in list context only,why it's also giving number output.

• Combining DROP USER and DROP DATABASE with SELECT .. WHERE query?

  I'd like to make a very simple thing, replicate the functionality of mysql's interactive mysql_secure_installation script. My question is that is there a simple, built-in way in MySQL to combine the output of a SELECT query with the input of a DROP user or DROP database script? For example, if I'd like to drop all users with empty passwords. How could I do that with DROP USER statement? I know an obvious solution would be to run everything for example from a Python script, run a query with mysql -Bse "select..." parse the output with some program construct the drop query run it. Is there an easy way to do it in a simple SQL query? I've seen some example here, but I wouldn't call it simple: http://stackoverflow.com/a/12097567/518169 Would you recommend making a combined query, or just to parse the output using for example Python or bash scripts/sed?

• Can jQuery dynamically change a "username" field based on a "name" field?

  Hi all, basically I have two input fields, "name" and "username". The idea is that the "username" field will change depending on what is entered into the "name" field - dynamically. I also need the username field to be in lowercase only and to change spaces into dashes. I was thinking using onkeydown but I couldn't get it to do anything. I've been looking around, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. • Subtracting Delphi Time Ranges from a Date Range, Calculate Remaining Time

  I'm looking for an algorithm that will help calculate a workday working time length. It would have an input date range and then allow subtracting partially or completely intersecting time range slices from that date range and the result would be the number of minutes (or the fraction/multiple of a day) left in the original date range, after subtracting out the various non-working time slices. For Example: Input date range: 1/4/2010 11:21 am - 1/5/2010 3:00 pm Subtract out any partially or completely intersecting slices like this: Remove all day Sunday Non-Sundays remove 11:00 - 12:00 Non-Sundays remove time after 5:00 pm Non-Sundays remove time before 8:00 am Non-Sundays remove time 9:15 - 9:30 am Output: # of minutes left in the input date range I don't need anything overly-general. I could hardcode the rules to simplify the code. If anyone knows of sample code or a library/function somewhere, or has some pseudo-code ideas, I'd love something to start with. I didn't see anything in DateUtils, for example. Even a basic function that calculates the number of minutes of overlap in two date ranges to subtract out would be a good start.

  I readed few book and acticles about Convolutional neural network, it seem I understand the concept but I don't know how to put it up like in image below: from 28x28 normalized pixel INPUT we get 4 feature map 24x24. but how to get them ? size the INPUT image ? or perform image transformation? but what kind of transformation? or cut up the input image to 4 piece 24x24 by 4 corner? I don't understand the process to me it seem they cut up or resize the image to more smaller at each step. please help thanks.

• keypress event not being triggered only at start and end of text field in Firefox (JQuery)

  I'm listening for keypress events on an input field with delegation. For some reason, Firefox doesn't trigger the delegated event for cursor UP when at the start of the field, or cursor DOWN when at the end. LEFT and RIGHT work as expected all the time. Directly binding an event listener to the field works fine, so it has to be something to do with delegation.   The output from MongoDB's map/reduce includes something like 'counts': {'input': I, 'emit': E, 'output': O}. I thought I clearly understand what those mean, until I hit a weird case which I can't explain. According to my understanding, counts.input is the number of rows that match the condition (as specified in query). If so, how is it possible that the following two queries have different results? db.mycollection.find({MY_CONDITION}).count() db.mycollection.mapReduce(SOME_MAP, SOME_REDUCE, {'query': {MY_CONDITION}}).counts.input I thought the two should always give the same result, independent of the map and reduce functions, as long as the same condition is used.

• Having trouble with post-commit hook

  I am following this tutorial that is like the hello world for post-commit I am using unbuntu 10.04. I installed svnnotify and ran $ which svnnotify which output: /usr/bin/svnnotify so I changed the path in the turorial from /usr/local/bin/svnnotify to /usr/bin/svnnotify I also tried changing the line: #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash since bash is the login shell in ubuntu 10.04. I tried to run it the way the tutorial originally had it, with my changes, and combinations of the two. Everytime the commit is successful but I get Warning: post-commit hook failed (exit code 1) with no output. The original way had output not found I am very new to linux and shell scripting and have exhausted everything I can think of. What am I doing wrong?
