  • Changing content of HTMLDocument displayed in a JTextPane

    I'm displaying some tables as HTML code (rendered by a Freemarker template) with a JTextPane. I also have some HTML links in this HTML output which can be used to interact with the values of the table (For example "Delete a row" and stuff like this). Currently I always recreate the whole HTML output on each change and replace the whole document in the JTextPane with the new one. This is getting really slow and the JTextPane always changes the scroll position when I do this. Is it possible to change only parts of the HTML code during runtime without replacing the whole document? In a real browser I would use the DOM and do something like document.getElementById("price").innerHTML = "$123.44". Is something like that possible with the HTMLDocument in a JTextPane?

    I'm moving from http to https for my entire site. The site is currently added to google webmaster tools as www.example.com and all the pages are indexed as http. How do i go about moving to the new https URLs on Google webmaster tools. Do I just submit a updated sitemap which has the https URLs OR Do I add a new site as https://www.example.com and submit the sitemap with https urls? All the http urls are set to redirect to their https counterparts.

WTF??? How can that be? thanks for any help.

    I used to do all my linux profiling with gprof. However, with my multi threaded app, it's output appears to be inconsistent. Now, I dug this up http://sam.zoy.org/writings/programming/gprof.html howver, it's from a long time ago -- and in my gprof output, it appears my gprof is listing functions used by non-main threads. So, my questions are: 1) in 2010, can I easily use gprof to profile multi threaded linux c++ apps? (ubuntu 9.10) 2) what other tools should I look into for profiling? thanks!

  • How can I graph the Lines of Code history for git repo?

    Basically I want to get the number of lines-of-code in the repository after each commit. The only (really crappy) ways I have found is to use git filter-branch to run "wc -l *", and a script that run git reset --hard on each commit, then ran wc -l To make it a bit clearer, when the tool is run, it would output the lines of code of the very first commit, then the second and so on..   • Image rendering on browser or temporary images?

    I'm trying to make a statistics page where it will show several data and charts. The charts need to be pictures so that the user can save it/drag-and-drop to his/her personal reports. I'm using Gruff Graphs for Ruby to produce the charts but I don't know the best way to display the results safe and protected. Some of my ideas/tries are: save the chart to a file (jpg, png)? problem: data is available to anyone (don't have access to cron, to delete data from time to time) render in the browser (has to work on IE)? Use javascript (Raphaël—JavaScript Library) or Google API and output a PDF report (need plugin or gem, right)? use send_data? i've tried to output other way than inline, because I needs to show other data, is it possible?     I have myproduct.com which is my master product page. For UK I also own myproduct.co.uk which is a copy of myproduct.com with some localized content: landing page, promotions, prices, and specific tags. But there is also duplicate content: myproduct.com/FAQs/ is the same as myproduct.co.uk/FAQs/ I don't want to do a redirect from myproduct.co.uk/FAQs/ to myproduct.com/FAQs/ as I don't want people to leave the localized website. The myproduct.com/FAQs/ is my "go-to" FAQ page and it's the most likely to be up to date - so I want this page to be indexed my search engines, where as I don't care about myproduct.co.uk/FAQs/ being indexed (unless indexing this page would increase my page rank :) ). What to do now to be SEO friendly & SEO optimal? Stop indexing of myproduct.co.uk/FAQs/ via robots.txt? Do some rel="alternate" hreflang="x" configuring on both /FAQs/ page? Something else?

Strangely this does not work. When I type cd ./a/d. The directory change works. However I cannot find out why the above does not work...

  • Console-like control that allows full control over individual text formatting

    I'm tinkering with writing a simple text-based role-playing game. I would like to use WinForms, and utilize WinForm controls for the UI and simple text for the output. The catch is, I would like to have complete control over the formatting of the individual text - some words being different colors, etc. A simple console control would suffice, as that would provide control over text colors, but it would be nice to also be able to change style, font and size. Less important: it would be nice to have complete control over where text appears in the control through a coordinate system, as with DOS windows of old. I'd appreciate suggestions on the best method of implementing this. Perhaps there is a better method I had not considered for rendering the output of a text-based game.

    I have a client who insists of having multiple website domains all being redirected to one main website domain. It is getting out of hand and his server has become conveluted and riddled with garbage because of it, not to mention confusing at times. Each of these domains that he is setting up has no content, they simply redirect the user to the main website domain. Is this practice of having multiple domains pointing to one main website common? And does anyone know where I can get information to give to this client to let him know this is a bad practice if it is a bad practice?

  • Why is a # sign added to the end of URLS?

    Note: I'm asking this from the perspective of the site developers (trying to help someone there). not as a user. Please don't forward this to superuser.com. It's a server admin question. Have a look here http://www.wanimo.com/fr/chiens/coussin-matelas-tapis-pour-chien-sc28/tapis-plat-urban-chic-sf7263/ you'll see that the page gets redirected to the same page with # at the end. Worse, when you click back you get garbage url. I'm trying to debug what is causing the redirect. Any advice on how to find it ?
