  • Getting SEC to only monitor latest version of a log file?

    I have been tasked with running SEC to help correlate PHP logs. The basic setup is pretty straightforward, the problem I'm having is that we want to monitor a log file whose name contains the date(php-2012-10-01.log for instance). How can I tell SEC to only monitor the latest version of the file(and of course switch to the newest log file every day at midnight) I could do something like create a latest version of the file that links to the latest version and run a cron job at midnight to update the link, but I am looking for a more elegant solution

  • bridge traffic limiting via tc

    I have a Linux machine running as a bridge simulating various network conditions. I use tc for this. Introducing delays or packet loss is quite simple but I got into trouble trying to configure bandwidth limiting. Can you, please, show me how to limit all the traffic going through my bridge without any special rules and condition, simply limit it to 1Mb/s? Thanks.   • Oracle Virtualbox on statically compiled kernel

    I can't seem to find any documentation on the subject. I'm working on putting together a linux install for a fairly "dirty" environment. Best practice there would be a statically compiled kernel with no module support. I can already do the customizations to strip out unnecessary drivers/etc to get the performance and disable module support. Does anyone have a link or any ideas on how to get the Oracle Virtualbox module (not the OSE one, I need USB passthrough) compiled in?

    RE: Putting this out there in case someone else runs into this issue. The intel chipset is on-board. I discovered the reason for the crappy resolution in windows 7 was that the memory to share with the video card was set to 1MB in the BIOS.     hi, A customer of mine have been testing a trial of MS CRM 4.0 that I installed for them, but they concluded that it might be a bit heavy for them. I promised them to look into other CRM applications that use SQL Server as the backend and preferably has an Outlook plugin so you can do "CRM Stuff" directly from Outlook. If anyone knows about alternatives, I would appreciate it if you leave a link here!

Isn't dev higher than beta?     I'm looking for some up-to-date information about postgresql internals, specifically the query optimizer. I've found this link (referred to in the "Further Reading" section of the 8.4 docs):- http://db.cs.berkeley.edu//papers/UCB-MS-zfong.pdf but it seems quite old. That in itself is not a problem, but I wanted to be sure that I have information that is relevant. Is this the best resource for understanding how postgresql processes queries (using plans, statistics etc.) or are there others?

    Hello guys, I am setting up subversion using this link http://svn.spears.at/ It says that "As the Subversion book warns, make sure to create all repositories on your local disks [FiberChannel is treated as a local disk]. Failing to do so, may result in repository corruption. " This us a big problem for me. Isnt there a way I can set subversion on shared drives. Is there a work around because availability is a major concern with local drives.

    I installed MinGW by using mingw-get-inst-20111118.exe and it works but it is very slow! i don't want to install it online, i remember that i have previously installed MinGW and msys by using two files mingw.exe and msys.exe without using the internet and it was great, but now i cant repeat what i have done and i cant find a link to mingw.exe! please i want a simple steps for offline better installation? thanks

  • WAMP - phpMyAdmin is loading a blank browser (Firefox)

    I recently uninstalled an older version of WAMP then installed the latest version. The link to the localhost displays the WAMPSERVER home page successfully. However, the http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ returns only a blank browser - it displays nothing. localhost/sqlitemanager/ returns a Forbidden You don't have permission to access /sqlitemanager/ on this server. This seems to be a 403 forbidden error I've looked everywhere for an answer to this. Help please

    I was inspecting my apache access logs(I use default combined log format) and I came a cross a wired entry 69.171.247.0 - - [22/Oct/2012:18:15:20 +0200] "GET /some site resources HTTP/1.1" 404 514 "-" "facebookexternalhit/1.0 (+http://www.facebook.com/externalhit_uatext.php)" As u see, this query come from a facebook robot that extract objects from site when somebody post a link. What I find weird is the logged ip address : 69.171.247.0 Does anybody know how is that possible ?

The backround is, that I do some backup via rsync and don`t wanna type the commandos everytime new. I also dont wanna use a cronjob, since my computer isnt running everytime.   • Slow WLAN file transfer between server and tablet

    My file server is running Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm sharing files from it over samba. It is connected via gigabit ethernet. My desktop, running Windows 8.1, is also connected via gigabit ethernet. I can transfer files between the two and completely saturate that gigabit pipe. However, I just got a Surface Pro 2, and I'm trying to stream HD movies from my server to the device over WiFi. For some reason, I can't break much past 1.5MB/s transferring files over the network. I've tried streaming through XBMC and a standard file copy; no difference. To add the confusion, if I connect to my guest network and then use my VPN server (installed on the router) to access the file server, I get around 3.2MB/s. I've been running diagnostics to determine the root and I think I've found it but I have no idea what is causing it or how to fix it.   • How to map to Windows Server shares in Linux (Ubuntu) easily?

    I know how to get connected to a Windows share easy enough, and I've read how to change the fstab file to get it to mount at boot. The real question here is...can I create a few shortcuts on a common user desktop so that regardless of who logs into Ubuntu machine they can open that shortcut and it will open the Windows share? I would also need to allow AD credentials during login, so a link to that will help as well, but I'm sure I can search google for that part.
