• Sometimes when visiting a php page, the browser asks me to download the .php file with nothing in it

  I've noticed an unusual problem with some of my php programs. Sometimes when visiting a page like profile.edit.php, the browser throws a dialogue box asking to download profile.edit.php page. When I download it, there's nothing in the file. profile.edit.php is supposed to be a web form that edits user information. I've noticed this on some of my other php pages as well. I look in my apache error logs, but don't see any errors. How do i figure out why this is happening?

• jQuery.get() - Practical uses?

  I am trying to understand why you would use jQuery.get() and jQuery.get(index). The docs say it is to convert the jQuery selection to the raw DOM object instead of working with the selection as a jQuery object and the methods available to it. So a quick example: $("div").get(0).innerHTML; is the same as: $("div").html(); Obviously this is a bad example but I am struggling to figure when you would use .get(). Can you help me understand when I would use this method in my code?

• Windows service installed successfully but not responding after started.

  I have a windows service written in C#, .Net framework 2.0. I installed it on three machines and it worked fine but on one machine (with .Net framework 2.0) the setup has installed the service successfully but the service is not responding after I start it. I check for this by checking whether a log file is created at a specific path insribed in the config file or not. This log file is created everytime the timer elapses the interval time. I'm unable to figure out the reason. Have checked all the parameters but unable to get any solution to this. The funny thing is that the same setup is running well on other machines. P.S.: I have admin access on all the servers I'm installing this service on.

• Group Objects by Common Key

  I have a list of Customers. Each customer has an address and some customers may actually have the same address. My ultimate goal is to group customers based on their address. I figure I could either put the customers in some sort of list-based structure and sort on the addresses, or I could drop the objects into some sort of map that allows multiple values per key. I will now make a pretty picture: List: A1 - C1, A1 - C2, A2 - C3, A3 - C4, A3 - C5 Map: A1 A2 A3 C1 C3 C4 C2 C5 Which option (or any others) do you see as the best solution? Are there any existing classes that will make development easier?

• How can I pass a type as a parameter in scala?

  I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out how can I store or pass a type in scala. What I want to achive is something like this: abstract class Foo( val theType : type ) object Foo{ case object Foo1 extends Foo(String) case object Foo2 extends Foo(Long) } So at some point I can do this: theFoo match{ case String => "Is a string" case Long => "Is a long" } and when obtaining the object being able to cast it: theFoo.asInstanceOf[Foo1.theType] Is this possible? If is possible, is a good aproach? What I'm trying to achieve ultimately is writing a pseudo schema for byte stream treatment. E.g if I have an schema Array(Foo1,Foo1,Foo2,Foo3,Foo1) I could parse Arrays of bytes that complain with that schema, if at some point I have a different stream of bytes I could just write a new schema Array(Foo3, Foo4, Foo5) without having to reimplement parsing logic.   I'm writing a T4 template which loads some classes from an assembly, does some analysis of the classes and then generates some code. One particular bit of analysis I need to do is to determine whether the class implements a generic list. I can do this pretty simply in C#, e.g. public class Foo : List<string> { } var t = typeof(Foo); if (t.BaseType != null && t.BaseType.IsGenericType && t.BaseType.GetGenericTypeDefinition() == typeof(List<>))) Console.WriteLine("Win"); However T4 templates use the FXCop introspection engine and so you do not have access to the .net reflection API. I've spent the past couple of hours in Reflector but still can't figure it out. Does anyone have any clues about how to do this?

  I am trying to figure out a regular expression for the following: <tr class="A">.*</tr><tr class="(B|C)">.*</tr> Now The second tr class will repeat an unknown number of times, with something unknown in between repetitions, but simply putting it in parentheses and added a plus doesn't work.   I'm trying to figure out dates in Java and am completely lost. Do I use Date? Use epoch time? Gregorian Calendar? Let's say I have a want to store a date, then later compare it to other dates. For example, I've stored a date "10/27/2013". Then, I want to later compare it to dates entered later to see if a later date is identical to "10/27/2013", or if just the day, year, or month matches? What's the best way to do this?

  For the life of me I can't figure out the proper syntax for creating an array of structures in C. I tried this: struct foo { int x; int y; } foo[][] = { { { 1, 2 }, { 4, 5 }, { -1, -1 } }, { { 55, 44 } { 100, 200 }, } }; So for example foo[1][0].x == 100, foo[0][1].y == 5, etc. But GCC spits out a lot of errors. If anyone could provide the proper syntax that'd be great. • Programmatically Setting the Version of a Window's Service on the ProjectInstaller

  I have a Windows Service created in Visual Studio 2005 in C#. I have a setup project and a ProjectInstaller class. I also have code to programmatically get the version from the AssemblyFileVersionAttribute. I need to figure out where I set the version that I've obtained (and where this code should go). I tried placing it in the InitializeComponent method on ProjectInstaller.Designer.cs and then appending the version to serviceInstaller1.DisplayName and serviceInstaller1.ServiceName. This didn't work and you're not supposed to modify the contents of this method. Any ideas?

  I've looked around and can't quite grasp the whole answer to this SQL query question needed to extract data from an MS Access 2000 table. Here's an example of what the table [Time Sub] looks like: CLIENT_ID, DATE_ENTERED, CODE, MINUTES 11111, 5/12/2008 3:50:52 PM, M, 38 11111, 5/12/2008 2:55:50 PM, M, 2 11714, 5/13/2008 1:15:32 PM, M, 28 11111, 5/13/2008 6:15:12 PM, W, 11 11112, 5/12/2008 2:50:52 PM, M, 89 11112, 5/12/2008 5:10:52 PM, M, 9 91112, 5/14/2008 1:10:52 PM, L, 96 11112, 5/12/2008 5:11:52 PM, M, 12 I need to select the first entry of each day per client that's NOT code L or W. • I set a global bug catcher in my application for unhandled exceptions and it is picking up all exceptions

  I am trying to figure out why this is happing. In my vb.net application I set a global handler in the ApplicationEvents.vb which I thought would only pick up any unhandled exceptions, although it is picking up every exception that happens in my application whether or not they are handled with try catch blocks.   I was trying to place two uibuttons on uitableviewcell programmatically.. but unable to achieve that. somehow i managed to get the buttons through some sample project in which u can draw a nib for cell.. but i was unable to set a selector function for buttons.. in other example i can place a uiinfodark type button but when i change the type to rounded rect the button gets disappeared and i am unable to figure out why? I might be doing some silly mistake but I am really kinda stuck with it right now so I'll be very much thankful to all of you for helping in this regard.

  I'm getting into CodeIgniter and trying to figure out the good architecture for my models. What kind of models would you create for the following simple example: list page of blog entries: shows part of the entry data, number of comments blog entry page: shows all the entry data, comment list (with part of the comment data) comment page: shows all the comment data I'm trying to get this right so that it's simple and effective. I don't want to load too much information (from the db) on the pages where I don't need them. E.g. should the same entry model handle both multiple entries as well as a single entry? And how should the comments be loaded? I only need the number of comments on the multiple entries (list) page but some of the comment data on the single entry page. How would you handle this?

  I have a development setup from this tutorial: http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2009/10/27/build-your-own-dev-server-with-virtualbox/ But what I can't figure out is how to share a folder on my Ubuntu virtualized machine with the host Win7. I want to use a Windows text editor to edit code that's on my Ubuntu server. I've tried using the Shared Folders setting, adding "/var/www" but it says that the path is not absolute. When I click on "other", it only allows me to browse folders on my Win7 host. Both the host and guest are 64-bit OS. Thanks in advance!

• Get next key-value pair in an object

  So, given a key, I want to find the next property in an object. Then, I want to return the value of the NEXT property. I can not rely on the keys to be ordered or sequential (they're uuids). Please see below for trivial example of what I want: var db ={ a: 1, b: 2, c: 3 } var next = function(db, key) { // ??? } next(db, 'a'); // I want 2 next(db, 'b'); // I want 3 I also want a prev() function, but I'm sure it will be the same solution. This seems like such a trivial problem but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. Happy for the solution to use underscore.js or be written in coffeescript :)

• Remove specified text from beginning of lines only if present (C#)

  I have a textbox in which the user can edit text, in a scripting language. I've figured out how to let the user comment out lines in one click, but can't seem to figure out how to uncomment properly. For example, if the box has: Normal Text is here More normal text -- Commented text -- More commented text Normal Text again --Commented Text Again So, when the user selects any amount of text and decides to uncomment, the "--" is removed from the beginning of the lines that have it. The lines without the "--" should be unaffected. In short, I want an uncomment function that performs similar to the one in Visual Studio. Is there any way to accomplish this? Thanks

  I have an existing Crystal Report done in Crystal Reports version 9. I need to display it via an ASP website created in Visual Studio 2008. I have put the Crystal data source and viewer controls on the design page and configured the controls to use the crystal report but cannot seem to figure out how to pass a date to the report which uses it as an input parameter for a SQL Server 2005 stored procedure.   Hi Everyone, I am working on adding a custom accessory view, (a button) to a UITableViewCell, and I need it to tell the table view when it is touched, but I can't figure out how to communicate to the table view what button was pressed. Ideally I'd like to somehow call a function like this: [controller tableView:view didSelectCustomButtonAtIndexPath:indexPath usingCell:self]; when my custom view button is pressed. Sorry if this is a bit vague, I'm not really sure how to explain this well. • Help moving multiple images at once with touches

  Here is my problem: I am trying to move a puzzle piece around the screen and then connect to the other piece if they are in close proximity. I have achieved this, though it is perhaps a little odd the way I did. My problem though is that once they have connected, I can't figure out how to move them as one image, instead of two separate entities. I would really appreciate any help or suggestions. I know I can create a list but I was wondering if there was something that could 'look' at the pages and add a new one to the list if you make a new page for the application.   I am a javascript/java developer and I have been trying to figure out how the selenium webdriver automation framework uploads files from the file system. It is impossible to set a file input via javascript because it is a security violation. Yet somehow webdriver is able to do this with the following command: driver.setFileDetector(new LocalFileDetector()); WebElement upload = driver.findElement(By.id("myfile")); upload.sendKeys("/Users/sso/the/local/path/to/darkbulb.jpg"); driver.findElement(By.id("submit")).click(); So they are setting the value by sending keys to it? I don't get it. I have looked through the source code found here: http://code.google.com/p/selenium/source/checkout I am still not able to find where they do this. Edit: My question is not how to do this with selenium, but how did the selenium developers make this possible? How did they get around the security restrictions in javascript? How are they uploading the file?
