  • jQuery ajax, firefox with 302 redirects?

    - by Lowgain
    I'm having problems in Firefox with 302 redirects coming from my Rails app. Right now I have $.ajax({ url: '/model/33', type: 'POST', data: 'authenticity_token=efjowiejfoiwej&_method=put&model[value]=aaa', complete: myFunc }); function myFunc() { //do what I want } This works fine in other browsers, but in Firefox nothing happens, even using a complete callback instead of just a success. Anything I can missing here?

  • jQuery hiding a div on click outside

    - by Lee
    Hi All I would like to build a simple menu for each list element clicked on but hide this div once you click outside it. Here is some simple code which hopefully will make sense. $('.drillFolder').click(function(){ var id = $(this).attr('data-folder'); $(".drillDownFolder ul li > a").attr('data-id', id); $(".drillDownFolder").show(); }); $("body").click(function(e){ if(e.target.className !== "drillDownFolder") { $(".drillDownFolder").hide(); } }); //The hidden div <div class="drillDownFolder" style="display:none"> <ul> <li><a href="#" data-id="">Show Image</a></li> <li><a href="#" data-id="">Edit Image</a></li> </ul> </div> I know whats wrong as the menu is show via the .drillFolder links the body click is then hiding it straight away. How can I avoid this. Thank you if you can advise

  • jQuery $.ajax Not Working in IE8 but it works on FireFox & Chrome

    - by Sam3k
    I have the following ajax call which works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome but not IE: function getAJAXdates( startDate, numberOfNights, opts ) { var month = startDate.getMonth() + 1; var day = startDate.getDate(); var year = startDate.getFullYear(); var d = new Date(); var randNum = Math.floor(Math.random()*100000000); $.ajax({ type : "GET", dataType : "json", url : "/availability/ajax/bookings?rand="+randNum, cache : false, data : 'month='+month+'&day='+day+'&year='+year+'&nights='+numberOfNights, contentType : 'application/json; charset=utf8', success : function(data) { console.log('@data: '+data); insertCellData(data, opts, startDate); }, error:function(xhr, status, errorThrown) { console.log('@Error: '+errorThrown); console.log('@Status: '+status); console.log('@Status Text: '+xhr.statusText); } }); } I know for a fact that all the variables are passing the right content and $.ajax is indeed passing all the paramater/values. This is what I get on error: LOG: @Error: undefined LOG: @Status: parsererror LOG: @Status Text: OK I'm aware of the cache issue on IE and implemented a random paramater to clear it up. Finally these are the headers that are sent back from the backend: header('Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf8'); header("Cache-Control: no-cache"); header("Expires: 0"); header('Access-Control-Max-Age: 3628800'); header('Access-Control-Allow-Methods: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE');

  • JQuery Validate: only takes the last addMethod?

    - by Neuquino
    Hi, I need to add multiple custom validations to one form. I have 2 definitions of addMethod. But it only takes the last one... here is the code. $(document).ready(function() { $.validator.addMethod("badSelectionB",function(){ var comboValues = []; for(var i=0;i<6;i++){ var id="comision_B_"+(i+1); var comboValue=document.getElementById(id).value; if($.inArray(comboValue,comboValues) == -1){ comboValues.push(comboValue); }else{ return false; } } return true; },"Seleccione una única prioridad por comisión."); $.validator.addMethod("badSelectionA",function(){ var comboValues = []; for(var i=0;i<6;i++){ var id="comision_A_"+(i+1); var comboValue=document.getElementById(id).value; if($.inArray(comboValue,comboValues) == -1){ comboValues.push(comboValue); }else{ return false; } } return true; },"Seleccione una única prioridad por comisión."); $("#inscripcionForm").validate( { rules : { nombre : "required", apellido : "required", dni : { required: true, digits: true, }, mail : { required : true, email : true, }, comision_A_6: { badSelectionA:true, }, comision_B_6: { badSelectionB: true, } }, messages : { nombre : "Ingrese su nombre.", apellido : "Ingrese su apellido.", dni : { required: "Ingrese su dni.", digits: "Ingrese solo números.", }, mail : { required : "Ingrese su correo electrónico.", email: "El correo electrónico ingresado no es válido." } }, }); }); Do you have any clue of what is happening? Thanks in advance,

  • Jquery Knob animate and change color

    - by user1468116
    I'd like to create a knob that switch color at some point. For example, at 35 is red, at 70 is yellow and 100 is green. I also would like to make it animate. this is my fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/Tropicalista/jUELj/6/ My code is: enter code here $(document).ready(function() { $('.dial').val(13).trigger('change').delay(2000); $(".dial").knob({ 'min':0, 'max':100, 'readOnly': true, 'width': 120, 'height': 120, 'fgColor': '#b9e672', 'dynamicDraw': true, 'thickness': 0.2, 'tickColorizeValues': true, 'skin':'tron' }) });

  • How to use "this" and not "this" selectors in jQuery

    - by tg4FSI
    I have 4 divs with content like below: <div class="prodNav-Info-Panel">content</div> <div class="prodNav-Usage-Panel">content</div> <div class="prodNav-Guarantee-Panel">content</div> <div class="prodNav-FAQ-Panel">content</div> And a navigation list like this: <div id="nav"> <ul id="navigation"> <li><a class="prodNav-Info" ></a></li> <li><a class="prodNav-Usage" ></a></li> <li><a class="prodNav-Guarantee"></a></li> <li><a class="prodNav-FAQ" ></a></li> </ul> </div> When the page is first displayed I show all the content by executing this: $('div.prodNav-Usage-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Guarantee-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-FAQ-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Info-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); Now, when you click the navigation list item it reveals the clicked content and hides the others, like this: $('.prodNav-Info').click( function() { $('div.prodNav-Info-Panel').fadeIn('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Usage-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); $('div.prodNav-Guarantee-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); $('div.prodNav-FAQ-Panel').fadeOut('slow'); }); So what I have is 4 separate functions because I do not know which content is currently displayed. I know this is inefficient and can be done with a couple of lines of code. It seems like there is a way of saying: when this is clicked, hide the rest. Can I do this with something like $(this) and $(not this)? Thanks, Erik

  • jquery prevent paste to iframe designmode from msword

    - by naugtur
    Hi. I've seen some questions on catching paste event. This looks helpful. But I want to prevent paste from happening when the pasted content is not plaintext, but comes from msword or other wysiwyg editor. Anybody got any experience on that? I suppose I should catch the event and look for some specific tags in the clipboard. Any known content that msie adds everytime?

  • jQuery getJson returning null

    - by Adam
    I'm trying to use this api that lets you reference an exact text, but the getJson does not seem to be working, it's just returning null. $.getJSON('http://api.biblia.com/v1/bible/content/KJV.json?key=MYAPIKEY=John+3:16-18&style=bibleTextOnly', function(data) { alert(data); }); I just took the key out, i've been testing it with my real api key, and it works fine when i just visit the url. is there anything else i need to do to make it work? This is what you get from the url when you have an api key in the url: {"text":"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."}

  • jQuery DataTables: Problems with POST Server Side JSON output

    - by Tim
    Hello Everyone, I am trying to get my datatable to take a POST JSON output from my server. This is my client side code <script> $(document).ready(function() { $('#example').dataTable( { "bProcessing": true, "bServerSide": true, "sAjaxSource": "http://localhost/staff/jobs/my_jobs", "fnServerData": function ( sSource, aoData, fnCallback ) { $.ajax( { "dataType": 'json', "type": "POST", "url": sSource, "data": aoData, "success": fnCallback } ); } } ); } ); </script> Now I have copied and pasted the server side code found in the DataTables examples found here. When I change my sAjaxSource to view this page the table doesn't move beyond 'processing'. When I view the JSON directly I see this output. {"sEcho": 1, "iTotalRecords": 1, "iTotalDisplayRecords": 1, "aaData": [ ["Trident","First Ever Job"]] } Just for fun I went to the POST server-side example and copied some of the JSON they are using for their example and just PHP echoed it straight out of another page. This is the output of that page. {"sEcho": 1, "iTotalRecords": 1, "iTotalDisplayRecords": 1, "aaData": [ ["Trident","Internet Explorer 4.0"]] } Here is where it gets interesting. The JSON that has been processed by the server fails to work yet the JSON simply echo'd by the same server on a different page does work... yet both are almost identical in outputs. I hope someone can shed some light on this because as the tree said to the lumberjack... I'm stumped. Thanks, Tim

  • jquery, changing form action

    - by Jason
    i cannot seem to find the answer to this. i uploaded code to pastebin (so wouldnt clutter up the post): http://pastebin.com/BhnNTnJM but the action only changes for the delete form (id=form-horse-delete) and not the other 2 forms located on the page. i am at my wits end trying to figure out why it doesn't work for the 2 forms, yet will work for the 1 form. in IE, if i try and change the action of the 2 forms, it gives a javascript error. but if i take out the change, it works fine with no javascript error.

  • jquery cycle "allowPagerClickBubble: true" not quite working

    - by Shelagh
    Hi all, I want my page anchors to work as menu links so I used this code: $(function() { $('#slideshow').cycle({ slideExpr: 'img', fx: 'fade', speed: 2000, timeout: 4000, pager: '#nav', pagerEvent: 'mouseover', pauseOnPagerHover: true, pagerAnchorBuilder: function(idx, slide) { // return sel string for existing anchor return '#nav li:eq(' + (idx) + ') a'; }, allowPagerClickBubble: true }); }); If you click the right mouse button, you can choose to open the links and they do open just fine but a normal left button click does nothing. The thing is, they WERE working so I went to work on supposedly unrelated parts of the website and at some point the left mouse button click stopped working. Any ideas what I might have done? Left button clicking still works for everything else on the site so its not some global setting. The cycle is here if my explanation is not clear: http://www.mcguirenaturals.ca/index.php Thanks for any help

  • jQuery slideToggle flicker in Firefox

    - by Stepppo
    I have a specific situation with slideToggle that creates a flicker in Firefox. The situation was when the expanding element goes longer than the page and a vertical scrollbar appears in Firefox. If you scroll down to read all of the text in the expanding element and then click on the trigger to close the element, Firefox would flash for a second and then the page readjusts and returns to its position before the expanded element was expanded. I have tried adding ‘return false;’ to no avail. Here's a test page where you can see the effect in FF when you click to close the last item (Herbal Teas): http://pollak-labs.com/clients/birthyourself/?page_id=21

  • jquery click event handler is called twice for a checkbox

    - by Martin
    I have a problem with the following code in an ASPX page: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('.test').click(function() { alert("click") }) }); </script> <asp:CheckBox runat="server" Text="Checkbox XYZ" CssClass="test" ID="cb1" /> In the browser (FF3.5 / IE8) I have the following problem: if I click the checkbox (the small square), it works as expected if I click the checkbox's text ("Checkbox XYZ"), then the click event is fired twice, and the alert is shown twice I guess this has to do with the way the checkbox is rendered to HTML, which is like this: <span class="test"> <input id="ctl00_c1_cb1" type="checkbox" name="ctl00$c1$cb1" checked="checked" /> <label for="ctl00_c1_cb1">Checkbox XYZ</label> </span> How do I correctly setup the click event handler to prevent it from being called twice?

  • jQuery load Google Visualization API with AJAX

    - by Curro
    Hello. There is an issue that I cannot solve, I've been looking a lot in the internet but found nothing. I have this JavaScript that is used to do an Ajax request by PHP. When the request is done, it calls a function that uses the Google Visualization API to draw an annotatedtimeline to present the data. The script works great without AJAX, if I do everything inline it works great, but when I try to do it with AJAX it doesn't work!!! The error that I get is in the declaration of the "data" DataTable, in the Google Chrome Developer Tools I get a Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'DataTable' of undefined. When the script gets to the error, everything on the page is cleared, it just shows a blank page. So I don't know how to make it work. Please help Thanks in advance $(document).ready(function(){ // Get TIER1Tickets $("#divTendency").addClass("loading"); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "getTIER1Tickets.php", data: "", success: function(html){ // Succesful, load visualization API and send data google.load('visualization', '1', {'packages': ['annotatedtimeline']}); google.setOnLoadCallback(drawData(html)); } }); }); function drawData(response){ $("#divTendency").removeClass("loading"); // Data comes from PHP like: <CSV ticket count for each day>*<CSV dates for ticket counts>*<total number of days counted> // So it has to be split first by * then by , var dataArray = response.split("*"); var dataTickets = dataArray[0]; var dataDates = dataArray[1]; var dataCount = dataArray[2]; // The comma separation now splits the ticket counts and the dates var dataTicketArray = dataTickets.split(","); var dataDatesArray = dataDates.split(","); // Visualization data var data = new google.visualization.DataTable(); data.addColumn('date', 'Date'); data.addColumn('number', 'Tickets'); data.addRows(dataCount); var dateSplit = new Array(); for(var i = 0 ; i < dataCount ; i++){ // Separating the data because must be entered as "new Date(YYYY,M,D)" dateSplit = dataDatesArray[i].split("-"); data.setValue(i, 0, new Date(dateSplit[2],dateSplit[1],dateSplit[0])); data.setValue(i, 1, parseInt(dataTicketArray[i])); } var annotatedtimeline = new google.visualization.AnnotatedTimeLine(document.getElementById('divTendency')); annotatedtimeline.draw(data, {displayAnnotations: true}); }

  • Jquery Uploadify checkscript

    - by Kevin McPhail
    I am trying to implement the checkscript feature of uploadify in an asp.net mvc view but i can't determine what the key is i should be using on the controller side. Below is the php script but i am not very familiar with php and can't determine what php is scraping out of the httprequest. Has anyone implemented this? The documentation is a little sparse (as in nonexistent). $fileArray = array(); foreach ($_POST as $key => $value) { if ($key != 'folder') { if (file_exists($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . $_POST['folder'] . '/' . $value)) { $fileArray[$key] = $value; } } } echo json_encode($fileArray); ?>

  • callback execution order in jQuery getJSON

    - by lau
    I'm trying to implement a iGoogle like dashboard interface using widgets that get their content from other sites using JSONP calls. The problem is that if the first widget that calls the "$.ajax" takes 8 seconds to get the content back, it seems that the callbacks of the other widgets will only be called after the callback of the first widget gets executed. For the user experience, it would be better if the widgets could be displayed as soon as they get the content back from the remote sites, and not wait for those that were scheduled before to complete. Is there a way I can do that?

  • jQuery, insertBefore, validation, Placement of error message

    - by Steve
    I am using insertBefore under errorplacement to add validation messages, each one below each other as I want the order of the messages to go from top to bottom. I am using a hidden input at the very bottom of a parent element in order to supply an element for the insertBefore argument. Is there a way to insert from the bottom without using the dummy hidden element? If I use absolute positioning, there is a possibility for white space, for example 3 stacked messages, the middle one missing since there is no collapsing with absolute positioning.
