Can't get SWT Display on Mac OS X.

I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and wan't to access the Display from the activator in an OSGi bundle. Processing a log to fix a malformed IP address ?.?.?.x

I would like to replace the first character 'x' with the number '7' on every line of a log file using a shell script. Example of the log file: 216.129.119.x [01/Mar/2010:00:25:20 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 74.131.77.x [01/Mar/2010:00:25:37 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 222.168.17.x [01/Mar/2010:00:27:10 +0100] "GET /etc/.... My humble beginnings... #!/bin/bash echo Starting script... cd /Users/me/logs/ gzip -d /Users/me/logs/access.log.gz echo Files unzipped... echo I'm totally lost here to process the log file and save it back to hd... exit 0 Why is the log file IP malformed like this? My web provider (1and1) has decide not to store IP address, so they have replaced the last number with the character 'x'. They told me it was a new requirement by 'law'. I personally think that is bs, but that would take us off topic. I want to process these log files with AWstats, so I need an IP address that is not malformed. I want to replace the x with a 7, like so: 216.129.119.7 [01/Mar/2010:00:25:20 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 74.131.77.7 [01/Mar/2010:00:25:37 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 222.168.17.7 [01/Mar/2010:00:27:10 +0100] "GET /etc/.... Not perfect I know, but least I can process the files, and I can still gain a lot of useful information like country, number of visitors, etc. The log files are 200MB each, so I thought that a shell script is the way to go because I can do that rapidly on my Macbook Pro locally. Unfortunately, I know very little about shell scripting, and my javascript skills are not going to cut it this time. I appreciate your help.

Handling asynchronous responses

I'm building an FTP client from scratch and I've noticed that the response codes aren't immediate (which is no surprise). What would be a good approach for getting the corresponding code to a command? Below is an example of the output of Filezilla server. The response code is the three digits near the end of each line. Connection reset when calling disconnect() using enterprisedt's ftp java framework

I'm having trouble disconnecting from a ftp-server, using the enterprisedt java ftp framework. I can simply not call disconnect() on a FileTransferClient object without getting an error. Why does 12:20 PM parse to 0:20 on the next day?

I'm using java.text.SimpleDateFormat to parse string representations of date/time values inside an XML document. I'm seeing all times that have an hour value of 12 shifted by 12 hours into the future, i. e. 20 minutes past noon gets parsed to mean 20 minutes past midnight the following day. I wrote a unit test which seems to confirm that the error is made upon parsing (I checked the return values from getTime() with the linux shell command date). Now I'm wondering: is there a bug in the parse() method? is there something wrong with the input string? am I using the wrong format string for the input? The input data is taken from Yahoo's YWeather service. iPhone: variable type returned by yajl

Hello, I'm quite new to iphone programming and I want to do the following stuff: get data from a JSON REST web server parse the received data using YAJL Draw a graph with those data using core-plot So, 1th item is fine, I use ASIHttpRequest which runs as espected 3rd is almost fine (I still have to learn how to tune core-plot). The problem I have is regarding 2nd item. I use YAJL as it seems to be the faster parser, so why not give it a try :) Here is the part of code that gets the data from the server and parse them: // Get server data response_data = [request responseData]; // Parse JSON received self.arrayFromData = [response_data yajl_JSON]; NSLog(@"Array from data: %@", self.arrayFromData); The parsing works quite well in fact, the NSLog output is something like: 2010-06-14 17:56:35.375 TEST_APP[3733:207] Array from data : { data = ( { val = 1317; date = "2010-06-10T15:50:01+02:00"; }, { val = 1573; date = "2010-06-10T16:20:01+02:00"; }, ........ { val = 840; date = "2010-06-11T14:50:01+02:00"; }, { val = 1265; date = "2010-06-11T15:20:01+02:00"; } ); from = "2010-06-10T15:50:01+02:00"; to = "2010-06-11T15:20:01+02:00"; max = "2590"; } According to th yajl-objc explanations http://github.com/gabriel/yajl-objc, the parsing returns a NSArray... The thing is... I do not know how to get all the values from it as for me it looks more like a NSDictionary than a NSArray... Could you please help ? This is not homework, for I am not a student. This is for my general curiosity. I apologize if I am reinventing the wheel here.The function I seek can be defined as follows (language agnostic): int getPercentageOfA(double moneyA, double workA, double moneyB, double workB) { // Perhaps you may assume that workA == 0 // Compute result return result; } Suppose Alice and Bob want to do business together ... such as ... selling used books. Alice is only interested in investing money in it and nothing else. Bob might invest some money, but he might have no $ available to invest. He will, however, put in the effort in finding a seller, a buyer, and doing maintenance. There are no tools, education, health insurance costs, or other expenses to consider. Both Alice and Bob wish to split the profits "equally" (A different weight like 40/60 for advanced users). Both are entrepreneurs, so they deal with low ROI/wage, and high income alike. There is no fixed wage, minimum wage, fixed ROI, or minimum ROI. They try to find the best deal possible, assume risks and go for it. Now, let's stick with the 50/50 model. If Alice invests $100, Bob invests work, and they will end up with a profit (or loss) of $60, they will split it equally - either both get $30 for their efforts/investments, or Bob ends up owing $30 to Alice. A second possibility: Both Alice and Bob invest 100, then Bob does all the work, and they end up splitting $60 profit. It looks like Alice should get only $15, because $30 of that profit came from Bob's investment and Bob's effort, so Alice shall have none of it, and the other $30 is to be split 50/50. Both of the examples above are trivial even when A and B want to split it 35/65 or what have you. Now it gets more complicated: What if Alice invests $70, and Bob invests $30 + does all of the work. It appears simple: (70,30) = (30,30) + (40,0) ... but, if only we knew how to weigh the two parts relative to each other. Another complicated (I think) example: what if Alice and Bob invest $70 and $30 respectively, and also put in an equal amount of work? I have a few data points: When A and B put in the same amount of work and the same $ - 50/50. When A puts in 100% of the money, and B does 100% of the work - 50/50. When A does all of the work and puts in all of the money - 100 for A / 0 for B (and vice-versa). When A puts in 50% of the money, and B puts in 50% of the money as well as does all of the work - 25 for A, and 75 for B (and vice-versa). If I fix things such that always workA = 0%, workB = 100% of the total work, then getPercentageOfA becomes a function: height z given x and y. The question is - how do you extrapolate this function between these several points? What is this function? If you can cover the cases when workA does not have to be 0% of the total work, and when investment vs work is split as 85/15 or using some other model, then what would the new function be?

CentOS: make python 2.6 see django

In a harrowing attempt to get mod_wsgi to run on CentOS 5.4, I've added python 2.6 as an optional library following the instructions here. Is there a way to customize how the value for a custom Model Field is displayed in a template?

I am storing dates as an integer field in the format YYYYMMDD, where month or day is optional. So if there's a record r = DataRecord(name='foo',date=20100400) when processed in the form the value would be 20100400 but when output in a template using {{ r.date }} it shows up as "April 2010". Further clarification I do normally use datetime for storing date/time values. In this specific case, I need to record non-specific dates: "x happened in 2009", "y happened sometime in June 1996". The easiest way to do this while still preserving most of the functionality of a date field, including sorting and filtering, is by using an integer in the format of yyyymmdd. That is why I am using an IntegerField instead of a DateTimeField. This is what I would like to happen: I store what I call a "Flexible Date" in a FlexibleDateField as an integer with the format yyyymmdd. I render a form that includes a FlexibleDateField, and the value remains an integer so that functions necessary for validating it and rendering it in widgets work correctly. I call it in a template, as in {{ object.flexibledate }} and it is formatted according to the flexibledateformat rules: 20100416 - April 16, 2010; 20100400 - April 2010; 20100000 - 2010. This also applies when I'm not calling it directly, such as when it's used as a header in admin (http://example.org/admin/app_name/model_name/). I'm not aware if these specific things are possible.

I have a single table that shows employee deployments, for various types of deployment, in a given location for each month: ID | Location_ID | Date | NumEmployees | DeploymentType_ID As an example, a few records might be: 1 | L1 | 12/2010 | 7 | 1 (=Permanent) 2 | L1 | 12/2010 | 2 | 2 (=Temp) 3 | L1 | 12/2010 | 1 | 3 (=Support) 4 | L1 | 01/2011 | 4 | 1 5 | L1 | 01/2011 | 2 | 2 6 | L1 | 01/2011 | 1 | 3 7 | L2 | 12/2010 | 6 | 1 8 | L2 | 01/2011 | 6 | 1 9 | L2 | 12/2010 | 3 | 2 What I need to do is sum the various types of people by date, such that the results look something like this: Date | Total Perm | Total Temp | Total Supp 12/2010 | 13 | 5 | 1 01/2011 | 10 | 2 | 1 Currently, I've created a separate query for each deployment type that looks like this: SELECT Date, SUM(NumEmployees) AS "Total Permanent" FROM tblDeployment WHERE DeploymentType_ID=1 GROUP BY Date; We'll call that query qSumPermDeployments. Then, I'm using a couple of joins to combine the queries: SELECT qSumPermDeployments.Date, qSumPermDeployments.["Total Permanent"] AS "Permanent" qSumTempDeployments.["Total Temp"] AS "Temp" qSumSupportDeployments.["Total Support"] AS Support FROM (qSumPermDeployments LEFT JOIN qSumTempDeployments ON qSumPermDeployments.Date = qSumTempDeployments.Date) LEFT JOIN qSumSupportDeployments ON qSumPermDeployments.Date = qSumSupportDeployments.Date; Note that I'm currently constructing that final query under the assumption that a location will only have temp or support employees if they also have permanent employees. Thus, I can create the joins using the permanent employee results as the base table. Given all of the data I currently have, that assumption holds up, but ideally I'd like to move away from that assumption. So finally, my question. Is there a way to simplify this down to a single query or is it best to separate it out into multiple queries - if for no other reason that readability.

I use Cacti to keep stats: at the time when the server crashed, a huge spike from Load 1 to Load 200 occurred, with over 800 processes in the run queue ( from 300 average). Is there some setting I'm missing? It would be great to have an IDE/debugger but it's useless to me if it can't run linked functions.

iPhone:How to make navigation top bar style to same like "Black Navigation Bar" programmatically?

I have a Navigation project which has only a TableView. By default, i could see the navigation bar there when running the application. I want to change the navigation bar style to same like if we see in I.B there is one called "Top Bar" which has "Black Navigation Bar" style (Which shows Black navigation top bar but some kind of Gray shade will be there). I want the same in my navigation bar now, not any other color or style. How do i fix it? Note: 1. I used "self.navigationController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlack;" , but it shows the navigation bar in utter black color. I don't want that, i want some kind of Gray shade in black, similar to "Top Bar" which has "Black Navigation Bar". I tried some tint color addition to the above, like "self.navigationController.navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor grayColor];" but i observe the same utter black shows in navigation bar. I tried "navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent;" but it doesn't fit and show with status bar properly. Instead it overlaps(hidden) half black with status bar and half black shows outside. Could someone teach me? Thank you.

When is it possible to override top-level bindings in (R7RS) scheme?

I have read the current draft of the forthcoming R7RS scheme standard (small language), but I don't understand under which conditions it is not an error to redefine top-level bindings. I guess that it is possible to define or set! a binding that has been introduced at the top-level of a program a second time. But what about imported bindings from an external library? Is it possible to override these bindings by the standard? On page 26/27 of the report, it says: The top level of a program may also include import declarations. In a library declaration, it is an error to import the same identifier more than once with different bindings, or to redefine or mutate an imported binding with define, define-syntax or set!. However, a REPL should permit these actions. Does it mean that redefining is only an error when it does happen in libraries for imported bindings? I understand that it prohibits optimisations by compilers if the compiler does not know whether, say + still means the built-in addition or is any other user-specified error. But from this perspective, it does not make sense to restrict forbidding to rebind on the library level, when it would also make sense (at least) for imported bindings in programs. P.S.: As this is all about the environment of a scheme program: am I right in saying that environments are not first class citizens because one cannot get hold of the current environment? (Which, in turn, allows a compiled program to forget about the chosen names of the bindings.)

Does IE6 Really not Allow Me to set width/height from left/right/top/bottom???

Building a site super quick and having it work on all my Mac browsers, I thought I'd take a gander on a friends old dell laptop with Windows XP and IE6. Nothing looks remotely correct. It's because I used lots of left/right/top/bottom (constraint) declarations to size elements proportionally to their parent's size (I didn't use percent sizes because the percents refer to the parent's size before margins and padding are applied, left/right/top/bottom refer to them after with position:absolute. I'm asking about that here :)). I've read lots these past few weeks on how horrible IE6 (and IE) is in general, but because of all the reasons people say to support it (large market share and the fear of installing better software), and because half the people in the company we're building a site for use IE6 (getting them to upgrade to Chrome slowly but surely), I thought if I could just get IE6 to render my constraints, that might help. So I am messing around with simple layouts here, and they work fine in my latest versions of Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Opera, but IE6 is basically saying: If you haven't set a width or height on me, I'm assuming it's zero. But position:absolute; left:0px; right:0px; top:0px; bottom:0px; on a container that's width:1000px; height:1000px; should be the same as setting width:1000px; height:1000px on the child, no? Taking a quick look at the source for this, why won't IE6 render the constraint based absolutely positioned AND SIZED elements? (note: I will be messing around with that file for a while) Thanks

Upgrade existing WinForms applications to use the latest RadControls

Upgrading projects to new versions can be a pain, especially when you have to update several assemblies from a single version, as is the case with RadControls for WinForms. Q1 2010 simplifies this process a lot, by giving a couple of ways (one new and one updated) to upgrade existing applications to the latest and greatest version of RadControls for WinForms: By using the new Visual Studio Extensions (VSX), available in VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010 RC; By using the updated Project Upgrade Utility. Here are the steps: Upgrading a classic Windows Forms application to the latest RadControls for WinForms by using the Visual Studio Extensions Install RadControls for WinForms Q1 2010 Open the classic Windows Forms application (VB or C#) Open the Telerik Menu and select RadControls for WinForms --> Convert to Telerik WinForms Application Select the Telerik controls you plan to use in the application, as well as a theme, and click OK. The VSX package will add the needed assemblies to your project automatically for you. Replace the standard controls on your form with the respective Telerik controls. Run the application to see the result. Upgrading an older RadControls application to the latest RadControls for WinForms by using the Visual Studio Extensions Install RadControls for WinForms Q1 2010.
