  • How can web form content be preserved for the back button

    When a web form is submitted and takes the user to another page, it is quite often the case that the user will click the Back button in order to submit the form again (the form is an advanced search in my case.) How can I reliably preserve the form options selected by the user when they click Back (so they don't have to start from scratch with filling the form in again if they are only changing one of many form elements?) Do I have to go down the route of storing the form options in session data (cookies or server-side) or is there a way to get the browser to handle this for me? (Environment is PHP/JavaScript - and the site must work on IE6+ and Firefox2+)

  • Strip X Window System from OpenRD (Fedora core 8)

    I just got myself an OpenRD Client embedded box with an old Fedora 8 on it. Runs like a charm, only problem is that the default install has X on it, which I would like to remove in order to free up some space. I found a similar post here on the same topic, but yum groupremove doesn't work in my case, yum grouplist returns nothing, so I presume that no groups are defined. I don't know if this is because fedora 8 didn't have any groups, or because the OpenRD build is special in some way. In any case, I would like some tips on which package(s) to remove in order to remove an as big chunk of X as possible. Thanks in advance.

  • COM-Objects containing maps / content error(0)

    I'm writing a small wrapper to get familiar with some important topics in C++ (WinAPI, COM, STL,OOP). For now, my class shall be able to create a (child) window. Mainly, this window is connected to a global message loop that distribute messages to a local loop of the right instance (global is static, local is virtual). Obviously, there are surely better ways to do that but I'm using std::maps to store HWND and their instance pointer in pairs (the Global loop looks for the pointer with the HWND-parameter, gets itself the pointer from the map and calls then the local loop). Now, it appears that the map does not accept any values because of a unknown reason. It seems to allocate enough space but something went wrong anyway [ (error) 0 is displayed instead of the entries in visual C++). I've looked that up in google as well and found out that maps cause some trouble when used in classes AND DLLs. May this be the reason and is there any solution??     Hello! Couple of questions regarding Twill and Mechanize: 1) Is Twill still relevant as a web-automation tool? If yes, then why is not currently maintained? If no, has Mechanize matured further to support Twill-style simple scripting? Or is there another package that has stepped up to fill the gap? 2) I was able to very quickly setup a couple of test suites in python using Twill, but I'm a little confused on how to access the information that Twill spits out in my python program. That is, I can do showforms() and see the form values neatly listed and I can use fv to update the form values and submit. But how do I access one of those form values as a python var? How can I say something like: someField1Value = fv("1","someField1") Thanks! Shaheeb R.

  • unable to get into windows 7 or ubuntu after system file back on a dual boot system

    I installed ubuntu on my dell xps 9000 which originally has a window 7 installed. So after I did system file back up as told by windows 7 and restarted my computer, I received the following message right after restarting in the black screen: roughly like this: ubuntu grub error, " " symbol cannot be found. I was wondering how I can get access into windows 7 and uninstall ubuntu all together. I actually had the same booting problem after system backup before and the solution was to install two extra ubuntus but I'd prefer not to do that. I'd highly appreciate any help!

    I have a list of items that have some jQueryUI buttons associated with them. After an action (deleting an item) I want to reload the list via ajax. Only problem is when I do so the JQueryUI buttons no longer show, just the standard markup. I know I can use jQuery.live() for dynamically adding click handlers etc, but how do I apply a jQueryUI button() to them?

A few views cache the whole HttpResponse objects, therefore there might be a better alternative for returning the Memcached data other than going through Django.     Hi, The company I am working now has developed a Rule-based Expert System. It is a web-based system and supports Flow Chart, Decision Table, Fuzzy Rules and Forward Chaining Rules. It is something like iLog but less complex and powerful. However, one serious problem we are facing now is that we have NO CUSTOMER so far. We have spent 4 yrs to develop that product. Because my company is a start-up and has no reference, no one is confident in our product. Without feedback, we cannot improve our product. I am wondering if we should change our product into SAAS and make it free for people to try, or it has NO MARKET at all. (I will lose my job then..) Please give me some suggestions. Many Thanks!

  • How can I make gitosis distinguish between two users with the same username

    I have a gitosis system that seems to be working correctly except for a common problem we run into where I can't distingush permissions between two users who have the same username, but different hosts. For example: [email protected] 's SSH key is in the key folder. And so is [email protected] 's SSH is also in the key folder. These two jsmith's are two different people on two different computers. However, when I configure them in the gitosis.conf file with the usernames jsmith@computer or jsmith@machine, it seems like each user just gets the same permission. Can gitosis not distinguish the full username (name and host)? If not, how do I deal with multiple users accessing our system with common usernames? Thanks for any help.

    Hello, I am running dd-wrt and I configured it's dns server to resolve a few hosts inside my network. When I use dig to lookup these hosts, they are resolved OK, but when I try to ping those hosts I always receive an unknown host error message. For example: obe:~ simao$ dig dd-wrt ; <<>> DiG 9.6.0-APPLE-P2 <<>> dd-wrt ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 44026 ;; flags: qr aa rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;dd-wrt. Is it possible to have an automatically wrapped two-column list? I have tried <%@ MasterType" %: which gives the following error: `Compiler Error Message: CS0030: Cannot convert type 'IPAMIntranet.IPAMIntranetMaster' to 'ASP.ipamintranetmaster_master' and "string tVar = ((MyNamespace.MyMasterPage)Master).variable" which gives the following error: `Unable to cast object of type 'ASP.ipamintranetmaster_master' to type 'IPAMIntranet.IPAMIntranetMaster'.` Does anyone know what is happening or am I missing something.

    I prefer the sound scheme of Windows 7 HP to be set to "No Sounds" ALL the time. The problem is, when I switch themes, the themes switch sound schemes also. I know I can go in and disable/change to "No Sounds" every time by hand, but is there a way to turn it off and keep it off, regardless of the theme? Thanks!

Web browser (tested on IE8, Firefox 3.5.2, Opera 10) shows file length before I start download the file. When I run this code on remote IIS7, web browser doesn't shows file length. File length is unknown. Why I don't get file length when this code runs under IIS7?
