  • Monitor a COM port already in use.

    Is it possible to read from a COM port already in use on Windows XP? I would like to see the communication between some software and a device plugged into a serial device. I wrote a small program using C# to monitor the COM, but once it's in use by the other device it will not let you open it again. How can one monitor a COM port already in use?     Hi, I just created a new widget by following a tutorial. I created a zip containing all files and renamed it to HelloWorld.wgt instead of HelloWorld.zip. I sent it to my samsung star/corby via data cable, but when I try to open the wgt file on my phone it says it can't open it, because it doesn't know the filetype.   • Inline base64 encoded link not working in Firefox

    I have this link: <a href="data:application/pdf;base64,JVBERi0x...KJSVFT0YK">PDF</a> In Safari on MacOsX, clicking the link instantly opens the PDF. In Firefox 3.6.2, it doesn't. When I choose Download, it saves it as "u7WYuJME.pdf(2).part", which is a valid PDF file. When I choose "Open with Preview", it downloads it but does not open it. Can I change something so that Firefox opens it correctly?

So I've created a prototype in Silverlight 4 that should play a two mp3 files containing the same ticks sound with an intervall 1 second. So these files must be sounded as one sound if they will be played together with any whole second offsets (0 and 1, 0 and 2, 1 and 1 seconds, etc.) I my prototype I use two MediaElement (me and me2) objects. My questions are: When I open the url with the browser, appears the "Save File" dialog... but it seems like the server has started already to push data into the stream before I click "Save", is that normal? If I remove the line"response.Flush()", when I open the url with the browser, ... I see how the web server is pushing data but the "Save File" dialog doesn't come up, (or at least not in a reasonable time fashion) why? When I open the url with a WebRequest object, I see that the HttpResponse.ContentLength is "-1", although I can read the stream and get the file. What is the meaning of -1? When is HttpResponse.ContentLength going to show the length of the response? For example, I have a method that retrieves a big xml compresed with deflate as a binary stream, but in that case... when I access it with a WebRequest, in the HttpResponse I can actually see the ContentLength with the length of the stream, why? What is the optimal length for the Byte[] array that I use as buffer for optimal performance in a web server? I've read that is between 4K and 8K... but which factors should I consider to make the correct decision. Does this method bloat the IIS or client memory usage? or is it actually buffering the transference correctly? Sorry for so many questions, I'm pretty new in web development :P Cheers.

  • How do you disable a DataGridView's keyboard shorcuts?

    I've just noticed that DataGridViews have a default shortcut so that whenever you press "Ctrl + H", the DataGridView's editing control backspaces, and can delete your entire selection within the cell. This can get quite annoying since I want to open a Replace box whenever Ctrl H is pressed. Is there any way to stop the backspacing while still being able to use it to open the replace box? I'm running C# 2.0, but I could update my application to 3.5 if the newer C# has a solution.

    I find myself going to about five or six main places in my code 80% of the time and would like a way to go to them fast even if all files are closed.     If I open a solution, unload a project then reopen the solution visual studio remembers not to not load the project again. How can I do this outside of visual studio? Which file is this setting stored in? Visual Studio's annoying conversion wizard won't let me open the solution without converting all the projects, I have already converted the ones I want to work with and want to set the other ones to be unloaded.
