  • Rails and Python hosting problem

    I am trying to host some files/rails app in the port 8080 for external access. For python I am using the SimpleHTTPServer module, and for rails, webrick. However, both of them does not work very well. I don't get the response back, and, sometimes, if I get it, it's VERY slow. Nevertheless, apache works very well on the port 8080 (i am not running them at the same time). What is going on?

    I want to rename a table... (any table.) I tried this line of code: ActiveRecord::ConnectionAdapters::SchemaStatements.rename_table(old_name, new_name) Here's the weird thing. I know I got it working the first time, but now I get this error: undefined method `rename_table' for ActiveRecord::ConnectionAdapters::SchemaStatements:Module Was there something I need to set? Or am I going blind here.. Thanks!

I don't want to force the whole site to use https by turning on require SSL in IIS. Can I use the IIS7 URL rewrite module to re-route http requests to https?

I'd like to use the python api because it seems much faster than using p4.net implementionat of a Perforce API but when I try to import p4 into IronPython I receive the following error.   • Doubt in Conditional inclusion

    This is actually extracted from my module (Pre-processor in C) The conditional expression could contain any C operator except for the assignment operators,increment, and decrement operators. I am not sure if I am getting this statement or not since I tried using this and it worked.Also for other manipulation a probable work around would be to simply declare macro or function inside the conditional expression,something like this to be precise. Also I don't understand what is the rationale behind this rule. Could somebody explain? Thanks

  • Linux rpm installs but cannot erase. Why?

    My Perl code installed several (4) rpm files as root. the next install removes them (rpm -e) before installing a newer version. One does not remove, with rpm -e giving the error that it is not installed. However, later when the updated file is installed, the message is given that it is already installed. Manual attempts to remove give the same results. My questions are how to force removal something from the rpm database, and why does this contradication exist (not installed from rpm -e and already installed from rpm -Uvh and rpm -ivh)?

Is there a way in linux to force a driver to be associated with a known device, that do not involve kernel module recompilation to add a PID / VID pair ?

    How can I generate types like these using the System.Reflection.Emit libraries: public class Test<T> {} public class Test<T1, T2> {} When I call ModuleBuilder.DefineType(string) with the second type declaration, I get an exception because there is already another type in the module with the same name (I've already defined the type parameter on the first type). Any ideas?

    When doing recursive diffs I want to ignore expected differences/translations - is there a way to do that with standard unix tools? E.g. file1: 1 ... 2 /path/to/something/ver1/blah/blah 3 /path/to/something/ver1/blah/blah 4 ... file2: 1 ... 2 /path/to/something/ver2/blah/blah 3 /path/to/something/ver3/blah/blah 4 ... I want to be able to do something like: diff file1 file2 --ignore-transltion "ver1>ver2" This should show only show me that line 3 is different Does anyone know of a good way to do that? I can easily write a perl script to do it but i will end up re-implementing most of the rest of the functionality of 'diff'. Update: My goal is to run this on directories with different versions of the same files with "diff -r" so I can spot unexpected differences in versions.

How do you retrieve the URL where that image sits on? is there a way to do it the other way round too? That is, loop through images served in a URL and decide which ones are broken.     This is quite a noobish question, I have searched for a few hours now and I know this has to be simple. I am using XAMPP and I am trying to learn some more about using PHP and mySQL together. When I create the DB and the table for information to store, I tried insert info to the table and it stores it as a .dat file rather than text. This is the same question of this link: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1515722/removing-nidn-in-nodereference-autocomplete According with the first answer (Grayside) I've created my own module and activated. Then I create a new content, I look sth up in the nodereference field and finally select it - it works (Doesn't appear the [nid:n]). But, when I view/preview or save or edit the content, the [nid:n] appears again. Anybody can help me?

    hi, I'm using path auto module to automatically stores images in the projects subfolder. I'm using the [title] token and I had a unpleasent surprise: the title "abc / dce", creates 2 folders. I was not expecting this because in the pattern descrition, [title] is clearly distinguished by [title-raw]. [title] Node title [title-raw] Unfiltered node title. WARNING - raw user input. So, how can I fix this issue, I would like to use the title I have in the url "abc-dce" thanks
