  • Downloading a web page and all of its resource files in Python

    I want to be able to download a page and all of its associated resources (images, style sheets, script files, etc) using Python. I am (somewhat) familiar with urllib2 and know how to download individual urls, but before I go and start hacking at BeautifulSoup + urllib2 I wanted to be sure that there wasn't already a Python equivalent to "wget --page-requisites http://www.google.com". Specifically I am interested in gathering statistical information about how long it takes to download an entire web page, including all resources. Thanks Mark

    I am thinking of using McClim for an application, where can I find a tutorial that covers buttons, keyboard/mouse I/O, drawing images, etc. STFW for mcclim tutorial and clim tutorial didn't help much.   • How to embed a node on homepage in Drupal 6?

    How can I embed a node on the front page in Drupal 6. The node basically has the image upload field along with title and description. I want it to some how appear on the homepage alongwith a "views" which shows the uploaded images at the bottom. It's basically just an attempt at creating something like imageshack as an experiment.     So I rewrote my paths to something like: URL/really/nice/paths/ using mod_rewrite rules like this: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [PT,L] </IfModule> The question is how could I rewrite the paths for js/css/image files too, so when they are requested with a relative path from URL/really/nice/path/ to be served from URL/scripts/, URL/styles/ and URL/images/ folders instead? Can this be done without using RewriteBase?

    I'm building a program, and I'm quite confident using Objective-C, but I don't know how to programmatically download a file from the web and copy it on the hard drive. I started with : NSString url = @"http://spiritofpolo.com/images/logo.png"; NSData* data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url]]; But then I don't know what to do with the data... that sucks, no ;) Can somebody help?

I built the site in Dreamweaver and it worked fine in testing on Safari and Firefox but the live version isn't playing ball. Any suggestions.

  • bracket style border around elements

    I'm looking for a way to implement a bracket style border around my <h2> headings; I've attached an image showing exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. The only way I can think of to achieve this effect is by using images, but I'm unsure of exactly how to do so(all of my <h2>s are of varying length/height, or if maybe there is a better way. Any tips & insight are greatly appreciated.

However, when I use the code below the button element of the list isn't anchored to the left of the list item and instead appears centered...Can anyone help me? It's driving me crazy!   • In CSS, does it make sense or is it legal to nest an id in another id -- such as "#main #display img

    In CSS, if it is #main #display img { height: 80px } that means all images within an element with id display that is within another element with id main. But does it make sense or is it legal since id seems to be just global names. It is because SASS actually allow nesting and some code may nest it like #main width: 700px #display img height: 80px which is "id within id".

  • What's the actual windows media player maximum banner width?

    When looking at the documentation for the banner tag in windows media metafiles all the documentation says there is a maximum size of 194 x 32 pixels. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd562478(v=VS.85).aspx However, when experimenting with larger images they seem to be displaying correctly. Is there some real undocumented limitation here? Will it get cut off on different/older versions?

  • Joomla ImageBrowser Lightbox not working

    I've been using an image browser for Joomla called ImageBrowser. It's great - easy uploads, easy for clients to use, even handles zip file uploads. I have Joomla v. 1.5.15 installed and the newest version of this plugin as well on 3 or 4 of our sites with no fuss or issues. Recently, the ImageBrowser on one of our sites started acting strangely. It was as if the Lightbox effect that we should have disappeared completely. I compared the settings for the site to another and found they were identical. I couldn't find a solution in the documentation or forums. Here's the URL to look at: http://neda.us/photos?view=gallery&folder=BSU+12-5-09. You can compare that to another of our sites with the same plugin and settings at South Oak Floors dot COM. You should be able to click on a thumbnail and get a full size view of the image in a Lightbox. Any help much needed and much appreciated.

  • Hide Hashtags from the user's address bar

    Does anyone know an easy way to hide hashtags in the user's address bar? I am using a image gallery plugin and the only way to control the start position is to use a hash tag. The problem is the hash tag gives away the relative path of the images folder and it looks bad. Without the hash tag it only loads thumbs and not start image so really it's unavoidable. Thanks!
