    I have started a new project in .NET which uses some old system's datababase in MySql. The data stored in mysql is periodicaly transfered to MS Sql on which our system works. I need to authenticate users with their login and password. User's passwords are stored as hash generated by OLD_PASSWORD function from mysql. Is there any way to generate such hash using Ms Sql or .NET ?

    In sprite-based systems, it's common to fake rotation of a sprite by having many different images, each showing it rotated an extra few degrees. Is there any free tool which will take a single image, and output a single image containing several rotations? It should also ideally let us control how many images are in each row. e.g if I have a 32x32 sprite and I want it rotated at 10 degree intervals, the tool might generate a 320x32 file or a 160x64 file

  • Automatically reboot Windows8 if no internet activity

    I have a media server located in a very inconvenient part of my house. Occasionally I will have to reset my router or it will reset itself. The issue is the PC loses connectivity for some reason, and I am forced to walk outside, around the house, into the basement, over a bunch of toys and weights and boxes, to push a button to reboot it. I would love to have it check itself every 5-10 minutes and auto reboot if it is unable to ping a given address/IP. Any ideas how to accomplish this?

  • Win XP cannot connect (or see) my wifi network, but can see others

    since yesterday I have a strange wifi problem with my pc. I have a wireless linksys router setup that worked fine for many months, now since yesterday my pc won't connect to the wifi signal anymore. The strange thing is, my macbook pro still connects fine. SSID is broadcasting, but my windows XP doens't see it, I have all signal modes set to "auto". Windows XP sees all my neighbours wifi networks, so the wifi card isn't broken or anything. Any idea what can be wrong here?

  • "preprocess current file" addin for Visual Studio? (C++ )

    I realize that Visual Studio has the "/P" option to generate preprocessed files, but it's extremely inconvenient. I'm looking for an addin that allows you to right-click on a file and select "view preprocessed" - or any similar solution that would basically preprocess the currently-open file (with the appropriate options from the current configuration) and show me the output, with no extra hassle. Does such a thing exist?

    I created RAID 5 form 3 hard drives. Formatted as ext4 this raid array. Created VG0 group and lv_home logical volume in LVM. How would someone go about doing this on IIS7.5 for a ASP.NET MVC site? The plan so far: Register domain eg static.com, create a new website in IIS Manually copy the js / css / images folders from MVC as is so that they have the same paths on the new server Enable IIS gzip settings (js/css = high compression, images = none) Set caching with far future expiry dates <clientCache cacheControlCustom="public" /> in the web.config Never set any cookies on the static.com site Combine and minimize js / css Auto deploy changes in static content with WebDeploy Is this plan correct? And how can you use WebDeploy to deploy the whole web app to one server and then only the static items to another?     I just started to experiment with LXC containers. I was able to create a container and start it up but I cannot get dhcp to assign the container an IP address. If I assign a static address the container can ping the host IP but not outside the host IP. The host is CentOS 6.5 and the guest is Ubuntu 14.04LTS. I used the template downloaded by lxc-create -t download -n cn-01 command. If I am trying to get an IP address on the same subnet as the host I don't believe I should need the IP tables rule for masquerading but I added it anyways. Same with IP forwarding.     I am generating a .cxml file on the server and pushing it to the browser based on certain queries. If I just link to a .cxml, it does what I expected and opens it in the respective application. How can I generate a file and push it to the browser just like if it was linked to a file without it asking me to download it?   • jqueryUI Slider: Setting minimum and maximum values in range from DB

    I have a jQueryUI slider on my website that deals with price range. I have a products table in mysql that has various entries. I am using the slider to filter the results, but I need to set the minimum and maximum prices from the records in my database. Should I just generate (with php) hidden fields in my html that contain the minimum and maximum and then use jQuery to obtain them? Or is there a better way of achieving this, maybe using AJAX? Because categories are almost the same(they can change/add once a month or something), I don't think I have to query the database for each access of the web-page. Do you have a better idea for me?   • How do you set the title attribute of an ASP.NET MVC Html.ActionLink to the generated URL

    I would like users to be able to see the corresponding URL for an anchor tag generated by Html.ActionLink() when they hover over the link. This is done by setting the title attribute but where I'm stuck is figuring out how to get that value: @Html.ActionLink(@testrun.Name, "Download", "Trx", new { path = @testrun.TrxPath }, new { title = ??) How can I specify the URL that ActionLink is going to generate? I could hardcode something I guess but that violates DRY.

  • RubyMine Folder Tree doesn't refresh

    Hi Using RubyMine 2.0.2 for the first time today, on Mac OSX Leopard. If I create files in the filesystem (with, say, script/generate) those new files do not appear in rubymine. I have had limited success with restarting the program, in that the files in the db/ folder are added and removed, but unfortunately new folders in the views directory are not shown. I need to have the ability to parse a string of instructions and then translate them into instructions. Is there any libraries out there for parsing that are 100% javascript?
