• How to open embedded Visio files with only Visio Viewer?

  For some bizarre reason Visio Viewer seems incapable of opening vsd files when they're embedded within a (2010) Excel document: However if I open the Excel document with 7-zip, browse to xl\embeddings, extract oleObject1.bin and rename it to a .vsd file extension it opens perfectly fine with Visio Viewer in Internet Explorer. Since this opens fine on a computer with the full Visio installed, my guess is it's trying to launch Visio rather than IE. Is there something I can do to fix this? I've been scanning with Process Monitor and searching with RegScanner comparing a Visio-installed system to a VisioViewer-installed system and there doesn't actually seem to be any sort of registry value giving direction here... maybe it's just the nature of OLE. (If it can't be fixed I'm okay with converting the extracted one to a .png or so to replace the embedded object, but the "solutions" I've found for vsd to image conversion are very poor or non-working, i.e. buggy code, code with Visio dependencies, or online services.)

  Hello, Using Apache with mod_rewrite, when I load a .css or .js file and view the HTTP headers, the Content-type is only set correctly the first time I load it - subsequent refreshes are missing Content-type altogether and it's creating some problems for me. Specifically, gzip is not compressing these files. I can get around this by appending a random query string value to the end of each filename, eg. http://www.site.com/script.js?12345 However, I don't want to have to do that, since caching is good and all I want is for the Content-type to be present. I've tried using a RewriteRule to force the type but still didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? I am getting reports that when people try to use the computer it will sometimes be frozen to the point where they have to physically shut the machine down and boot to get it responding. (this happens about once a day).   Every time my computer (Gentoo linux) reboots the clock is several hours off: /etc/localtime is set for the correct timezone /etc/conf.d/clock lists the correct timezone running sntp -r 0.gentoo.pool.ntp.org fixes the problem... until reboot setting the time manually using date also fixes the problem... until reboot The System clock is set to UTC This is starting to drive me nuts :(

• HP UX can not boot from Ignite Tape

  We have hp rp2470 server running hp-ux 11.00, with LVM mirroring. As for redundancy we have second rp2470 same hw (same two processors, same ram, same two hdd’s, same number of lan cards). I want to clone first one to the second. For that purpose I am making ignite tape with the following command: make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 Ignite tape finishes without problems. When I boot second server from this ignate tape, server is starting to boot, and ignite restore finishes without any errors, only few notes, which are normal. However vmunix is not booting and when restore finishes, it boot to ISL prompt. From this I cannot boot /stand/vmunix. I tried to run recovery shell but no success. When recovery shell ask to do frecover to restore critical files, then I receive error: frecover(5405): unable to open /dev/rmt/0m At first I thought that the problem might be in the difference of the firmware version of the servers: fw version of production server is: Firmware Version 43.50 and fw version of backup server is: Firmware Version 42.19 So i did a fw upgrade of my backup server so that both servers are v43.50, and tried a recovery but again cant boot the system. Next I did another archive tape with -I (Interactive) flag: make_tape_recovery -I -x inc_entire=vg00 and tried recovery with it, again no good. I cannot find any error or warnings on ignite log, and I cannot boot hpux. I am only on ISL prompt.   Hello, Just upgraded an old box to Ubuntu to 10.04.2 LTS. Apache will not display images to a browser that are over about 2K. Small images seem to display fine. Static HTML and PHP continues to works fine as well. • Join .doc files into one .doc (with keeping the original format of every document)

  I have about ~50 .doc files, that look perfect (they are extracted with Able2Extract). Now I want to join these 50 files into one huge .doc. I've tried using Word's in-built "Insert" feature, but that messed up the whole format. I want to keep everything I have. Like just document1 - document2 - document3. Nothing "intelligent" or "smart" needed during the conversion, just the capability of joining them. (Thus making them all searchable, that's the ultimate aim.) I don't mind if the method/solution applies a single blank page at every document end either.

• Disable MathML output of eLyXer

  eLyXer is a standalone LyX to HTML converter. In the resulting file, equations are formatted as MathML, and the file itself starts with an XML tag. This causes two problems: LibreOffice does not read the XML file (it can read HTML files, but not XHTML). I am unable to copy and paste the equations into a document editor such as LibreOffice with the goal of subsequent conversion into .doc, because .doc files do not support MathML. The eLyXer help page mentions an option to only use simple math, but there is no option to set math equations to output as images. And I already set Document Settings Output Math equations Format: images in LyX, which presumably is saved in the lyx document somewhere. A web search did not come up with any solutions.

I've test on http://www.mail-tester.com/web-rMZjFj&reloaded=12 Most things seems ok but I can't fix the Reverse DNS issue (I don't have access to the main server). I begin to be pretty annoyed by the problem that's why I need expert advice/help.
