• at what point in the test cycle are the test results written to a file?

  I'd like to take the entirety of the test results and publish it to a database. Got the database, got the table, got the script to publish it. Question is, at what point in the ms-test cycle would the results be fully written to the file? And how can I get the path to that file? I'd especially like to grab the "TextMessages" node and put it into my database. I assumed AssemblyCleanup, but the TestContext doesn't seem to be available then.

• sproutcore or cappucino for web app development?

  I recently found out about the sproutcore and capuccino frameworks for web app development as proper MVC approach to creating Desktop-like applications. As far as I could understand, the main difference between the two frameworks is that Cappucino abstracts away the HTML+CSS+Javascript to Objective-J - a new programming language developed be the creators of Capuccino that adds OO capabilities to Javascript, whereas Sproutcore uses HTML5,CSS,Javascript. After lots of pondering, I thought it's probably best to go with technologies we know, so I downloaded the Sproutcore tools and did the tutorials, and I have to say I was very impressed. Just the kind of thing I was looking for, for organizing a complex web app. However, I just stumbled across the following link: http://charlesjolley.sys-con.com/node/1341228 in which Charles Jolley (the creator of Sproutcore) syas that he's tired of waiting for the HTML5 and ECMAScript5 specs to get finalized, and announces that from version 1.1 onwards they will be switching to Objective-J !   I know there are LOT of questions like that but I can't find one specific to my situation. I have 4x4 matrices implemented as NIO float buffers (These matrices are used for OpenGL). Now I want to implement a multiply method which multiplies Matrix A with Matrix B and stores the result in Matrix C. So the code may look like this: class Matrix4f { private FloatBuffer buffer = FloatBuffer.allocate(16); public Matrix4f multiply(Matrix4f matrix2, Matrix4f result) { {{{result = this * matrix2}}} <-- I need this code return result; } } What is the fastest possible code to do this multiplication? Some OpenGL implementations (Like the OpenGL ES stuff in Android) provide native code for this but others doesn't. So I want to provide a generic multiplication method for these implementations.

  First, I tried to migrate my databases with SQL Server Migration Assistant for MySql and it worked fine. But now, I have some problems with my code.   Hi, I've created a view with a set filters exposed (to show filtering options in the page). And one of those filters is a select field with all the taxonomy terms of a vocabulary. That's ok, it's showing now. But I want to only show the taxonomy terms that have at least one node associated to it. To avoid empty results if selects an empty term. Anyone knows how to do that?   I'm trying to get unique IDs for object instances in PHP 5+. The function, spl_object_hash() is available from PHP 5.2 but I'm wondering if there's a workaround for older versions. There are a couple of functions in the comments on php.net but they're not working for me. • Efficiency of while(true) ServerSocket Listen

  I am wondering if a typical while(true) ServerSocket listen loop takes an entire core to wait and accept a client connection (Even when implementing runnable and using Thread .start()) I am implementing a type of distributed computing cluster and each computer needs every core it has for computation. A Master node needs to communicate with these computers (invoking static methods that modify the algorithm's functioning). The reason I need to use sockets is due to the cross platform / cross language capabilities. In some cases, PHP will be invoking these java static methods. I used a java profiler (YourKit) and I can see my running ServerSocket listen thread and it never sleeps and it's always running. Is there a better approach to do what I want? Or, will the performance hit be negligible? Please, feel free to offer any suggestion if you can think of a better way (I've tried RMI, but it isn't supported cross-language. Thanks everyone

• Reinstall TeamCity when Tomcat becomes corrupt

  I've got a TeamCity 4 installation where tomcat has bit the dust with the following error "The APR Based Apache Tomcat Native library which allows for optimal performance in production environments was not found in java.library path". It appears this started happening once the JDK was installed on the server to allow for a compile. The JDK has been removed and the JRE reinstalled but still no go. My question is should I reinstall TeamCity completely or is there a way to simply reinstall tomcat so I don't hose the configuration? Your help is greatly appreciated.

• Can anyone tell me what the authors mean on this line?

  i was going through this link: FAT16 Basics to Assemble Clusters. I have read the structures involved in defining a directory entry in FAT. Now when giving the example for a FAT16 File, it says the data cluster is 0x03 for the example file MyFile.txt. Which means if we logically compute the Data Cluster we will be able to reach to the first node which happens to be cluster no 3. But what I fail to understand is what the author is trying to say in the next line where it says What we can see in the File Allocation Table at this moment? How suddenly we reach to the File Allocation Table? Weren't we already there when we were going through the information of Myfile.txt? I couldn't find any reason how suddenly the author jumped to an offset location of 00000200 and is identifying the emptiness of the clusters. It will be great if someone can help me understand. • Best compiled language for Mac OS X and Linux compatibility

  We need to write some software that will compile and run on both an Mac OS X server and Ubuntu. We would love to use Objective-C with all of its Cocoa goodness, however the GNUstep implementations of the parts we are using are broken (in the latest Ubuntu package anyway.) In light of this should we use C++ (I would really rather not), C or something else that we have not thought of? It is a server/back-end process that is very resource intensive, Java and other interpreted versions of this software perform much worse than the Objective-C proof of concept we have written, hence we now wish to re-write in a "compiled[1]" language. (NB: Some people might consider this subjective, however at the end of the day we do need to get a job done, there has to be a reasonably appropriate correct answer here). [1] Compiled to native CPU instructions, not compiled into "byte codes" that then have to be run by an interpreter.

• How can I show SQL Server LOGS (2005)

  Hello, I'm trying to track the error thrown by SQL Server 2005. The problem is SQL Server reports it in my native language so it's hard for me to google it. I think that the core issue would be avialable in English in SQL Server LOGS. I'm running SQL Server Management Studio Express, going to "Management" node, and then SQL Server Logs. I can see the list of logs but I cannot enter them, the only available option in context menu is Refresh. Could you help me to show the contents of those logs?

  Drag-and-drop file uploading can be done in Firefox 3.6 by using FileReader: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2121018/native-drag-drop-file-upload-in-firefox-3-6 However, Google recently released an update for Gmail that allowed drag-and-drop file uploading in Chromium as well as Firefox, and Chromium does not have FileReader. I'm using the latest Chromium nightly, and it can drag-drop upload files, while not supporting FileReader. I've seen someone mention that drag-drop uploading can be possible by dragging onto an <input type="file" />, but that can only support one file at a time, while Gmail's uploader can handle multiple files being dragged onto it, so that's clearly not what they're doing. So the question is, how do they do it? How do you support Chromium for HTML5 file uploading?

  In the W3C working draft for HTML5 here's a line I find confusing: http://www.w3.org/TR/html5/introduction.html#html-vs-xhtml Comments that contain the string "--" can be represented in the DOM but not in the HTML syntax or in XML. I can interpret this in two different ways: Comments that contain the string "--" can be represented in XML and in the DOM but not in the HTML syntax Comments that contain the string"--" can be represented in the DOM but neither in the HTML syntax nor in XML. I really find the original formulation highly confusing. Which one does it mean and is it even correct english? Who should I contact if I want to point out that I find such a wording highly confusing and that hence there's a high probability that other non-native english speaker would find this kind of formulation highly confusing too?

  The specific problem is, the support of condition variable on Windows begins from Vista, for early version of Windows (Windows XP), I have a emulated condition variable code sort of solved the problem. However, I'd like to have the ability to call native condition variable API when the system supported and fallback to my version only on XP and earlier version. I tried to detect windows version with GetVersionInfo API, but it still gives me error on start time (cannot find API entry of InitializeConditionVariable sort of). I am not familiar with Windows programming, how do you solve the gentle fallback problem nicely?

• What would you recommend for a large-scale Java data grid technology: Terracotta, GigaSpaces, Cohere

  I've been reading up on so-called "data grid" solutions for the Java platform including Terracotta, GigaSpaces and Coherence. I was wondering if anyone has real-world experience working any of these tools and could share their experience. I'm also really curious to know what scale of deployment people have worked with: are we talking 2-4 node clusters or have you worked with anything significantly larger than that? I'm attracted to Terracotta because of its "drop in" support for Hibernate and Spring, both of which we use heavily. I also like the idea of how it decorates bytecode based on configuration and doesn't require you to program against a "grid API." I'm not aware of any advantages to tools which use the approach of an explicit API but would love to hear about them if they do in fact exist. :) I've also spent time reading about memcached but am more interested in hearing feedback on these three specific solutions. I would be curious to hear how they measure up against memcached in the event someone has used both.

  Okay so I am looking to create a grided array in OGRE3D game engine but the array is generic my array skills are pretty basic and need work so I am posting this just to be sure I am doing this correctly. #define GRIDWIDTH 10 #define GRIDHEIGHT 10 int myGrid [HEIGHT][WIDTH]; int n,m; int main () { for (n=0;n<HEIGHT;n++) for (m=0;m<WIDTH;m++) { jimmy[n][m]=(n+1)*(m+1); } return 0; } I am assuming the above will return: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Then I can assign each point in the array to a valid node in OGRE3D to create a grid in 3D view would this work? Just need to tell me if I am doing it right or wrong dont need the ogre3d code....

• [Alfresco] property qualified-name in method getContentReader

  Hi there, I first apologize for my poor english level and maybe for the stupidity of my question ;) I am on an alfresco project to learn how it works. I have to browse programatically my content repository and gather datas all along. In order to do that I guessed I had to use a ContentReader (I get from my ContentService) but the method getReader wants a nodeRef and a propertyQualifiedName. I am ok with the nodeRef, I get what it's needed for. But the propertyQualifiedName puzzles me, I barely get what it is but I frankly don't get how it is used. Reading some alfresco forum threads I get more and more scared that I dont even get how a reader works, I somewhere saw that a reader can read only one node and only one time per instance. If anyone knows a bit about the Java API for Alfresco Content Repository use I am all hears ! Cheers all !
