• jquery .find to get the text in a <li>

  So I have a series of 2 nested ul's. When you click on the text (which is in an a tag) in the li, my page makes that editable and adds a save button. clicking the save button needs to give me back the new text inside that li and the id of that li. The id is not a problem. I'm trying to use jQuery's .find to select that anchor tag (which is successful) but i can't seem to get the text from it. • WPF Custom Navigation Buttons and calling one page from another

  I have a window which contains a Frame which references a 'home' page that has buttons on it. When a button is clicked I want another page to show depending on which button was pressed. I attempted to use NavigationService.Navigate('mynextpage.xaml') and that works however, I want to use a customized navigation panel. I call this.ShowsNavigationUI = false; on my 'home' page but the bar still shows. Is there a way to accomplish what I am trying to do? My page with the frame is a window so I do not know how to disable the Navigation bar there where I guess it is coming from. Further testing shows that the ShowsNavigationUI property is false yet the nav bar shows itself in the parent window once there is a second page to go to (showing the 'home' page in the history. TIA

My thought was defining Google Map object globally: map = new GMap2($("#map").get(0)); Which works perfectly in Firefox, however, map fails to load on internet explorer!! Any suggestions ?

  I have a ViewController that takes time to load its views. When I run Instruments, I see from the home screen, if I tap on the icon that pushes that view controller onto the stack, it's half laying out the views, and half getting the data for the views. I tried adding an activity indicator to display on the home screen over the button when the button is pressed to push the LongRunningViewController onto the stack. • Prevent double submission of forms in jQuery

  I have an form that takes a little while for the server to process. I need to ensure that the user waits and does not attempt to resubmit the form by clicking the button again. I tried using the following jQuery code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("form#my_form").submit(function(){ $('input').attr('disabled','disabled'); $('a').attr('disabled','disabled'); return true; }) }); </script> When I try this in Firefox everything gets disabled but the form is not submitted with any of the POST data it is supposed to include. I can't use jQuery to submit the form because I need the button to be submitted with the form as there are multiple submit buttons and I determine which was used by which one's value is included in the POST. I need the form to be submitted as it usually is and I need to disable everything right after that happens. Thanks!

• Allow users to enter a variable length list of items in asp.net form

  I need to let my users enter a variable length list of items into something that looks like a grid view (or a series of standard text boxes stacked vertically). Each item could be a few characters or a few hundred characters long, and I just want them to enter a "sentence", and then tab to the next row, and always having another blank one ready to go at the bottom of the list. I don't want to save any data to my SQL Server DB until they enter the entire list and then click on a "save all" button. When they hit the "save all" button they will be given a preview screen where the data will be presented as standard HTML ordered list. If they confirm/save, then each row of the grid will then be saved as a separate row into my SQL Server database (with an index to remember the order). What ASP.Net (or Jquery/javascript) UI control would be the best to use in this situation?

The links in the referenced question show how to subclass controls, but the examples don't seem to work for GMapTypeControl. Tried the following function CustomGMapTypeControl() {} CustomGMapTypeControl.prototype = new GMapTypeControl() CustomGMapTypeControl.prototype.setButtonStyle_ = function(button) { button.style.backgroundColor = "red"; } but the setButtonStyle_ function doesn't even get called. • iOS - Losing in-app subscription?

  I've just built an iOS app that uses a non-reoccuring subscription model. You hit "buy" and then when the client device receives the receipt from the Apple server it whizzes it off to my server to validate it and add the subscription to my user database. If the connection fails before my server has responded then the request is cached, ready to be resent the next time the client comes online. My problem is, what happens if the connection fails between when the user hits the buy button and the receipt is received by the client from Apple? Theres no way for it to know that the purchase has been made? Presumably I should add a "restore purchases" button that sends all of the users receipts to my server which checks if they've already been validated and their respective subscriptions added to the database? Is there a less intrusive way of doing this?

• Border-radius bug on <a> in IE9

  Seeing that <div> elements render border/border-radius correctly, but any <a> or <button> that has a background, border and border-radius set shows the background color or image as a square, and only the border is round. Tried setting <a> & <button> to display: block or display: inline-block but that didn't work. Is there a known workaround? • [iOS] How to catch cancallation of UIScrollView or others?

  Sometimes, interruptions such as phone call occur and disturb a regular behavior of an app in iPhone or iPad. For example, I created one UIScrollView instance and implemented UIScrollView delegate methods: scrollViewWillBeginDragging and scrollViewDidEndDragging(and scrollViewDidEndDecelerating). A scrollViewWillBeginDragging method deactivated all custom buttons in my app. Then scrollViewDidEndDragging and scrollViewDidEndDecelerating methods activated these custom buttons. That is, while the user scrolled, all custom buttons became deactivated for a while. The problem was that while the user started to drag and just held an UIScrollView instance, if I took a screenshot by pressing a home button and a power button, then any of scrollViewDidEndDragging and scrollViewDidEndDecelerating didn't get called. So the app became messed up. I implemented a UIApplicationWillResignActiveNotification method in my UIViewController, but it didn't get called after taking a screenshot. How can I catch any kind of interruption that disturbs a regular flow of events? Sometimes, touchesEnd and touchesCanceled didn't get called too due to an interruption. Thank you.

• Jquery ajax using asp.net does not work on IE9 during the 2nd call of the function?

  I have gridview that is loaded from another aspx page after an ajax call, the problem is it works on chrome/firefox/safari but using ie9 the ajax call would work fine during the first call but when i try to call the function again it throws an 304 status on the network tab of ie9 dev tool and the gridview is not refreshed.   Definition of SUCCEEDED(): #define SUCCEEDED(hr) (((HRESULT)(hr)) >= 0) Background: When an Ok button is clicked on a dialog, I need to return an HRESULT value hr such that SUCCEEDED(hr) is true. If Cancel button is clicked, I need to return a negative value. I could have used bools, but that would break the existing pattern (usually the hr values come from depths of system dlls). So, I know I can return S_OK on Ok, but what do I return on Cancel? I could just return (HRESULT)-1;, but there must be a better way - some HRESULT literal constant which has negative value and represents a generic failure. S_FALSE is not it, for it's value is defined as 1L. Please help me find the right constant.

• Storing PDFs in MS Access Database using Forms

  I need to store PDF files in an Access database on a shared drive using a form. I figured out how to do this in tables (using the OLE Object field, then just drag-and-drop) but I would like to do this on a Form that has a Save button. Clicking the save button would store the file (not just a link) in the database. Any ideas on how to do this? EDIT: I am using Access 2003, and the DB will be stored on a share drive, so I'm not sure linking to the files will solve the problem.

  I have the following usecase: A div with some buttons When the user clicks on a button, a popup is shown and the background div is faded out to 0.5 opacity The problem is that when the popup comes in, the user is still able to click on the background buttons. At this point, I can remove the entire DIV temporarily but I don't want to do that. Is there anyway I can disable all the previously attached events and then add event handlers ONLY to the current popup? (I mean something like a close button should still work on a popup) Any suggestions?

My problem is that everything is working great except on additional button clicks. Specifically when they get success (video plays) and they exit back out, they don't get any other messages if they click another button. It is as if the click event is not triggered. Do I need to be doing something to the click handler to respond?
