    Hi All, After Creating Full Text Catalog and Full Text index i have tried the following query SELECT gamename FROM sample WHERE CONTAINS(name,'"f1"') Error: Msg 30046, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 SQL Server encountered error 0x80070422 while communicating with full-text filter daemon host (FDHost) process. Make sure that the FDHost process is running. To re-start the FDHost process, run the sp_fulltext_service 'restart_all_fdhosts' command or restart the SQL Server instance. Geetha.

  • do not require smtp authentication for a specific domain using hMail server

    One of my clients has a needlessly complex e-mail setup for a couple of domains, which is causing problems when they try to send e-mail between them. They have a couple of domains where mail follows a slightly weird path: Users connect to an Exchange server to send e-mail The exchange server relays the message to an ISP-owned SMTP server as a smart host The ISPs server delivers the mail to the mail exchanger specified in DNS The mail exchanger is another server that runs hMailServer The Exchange server connects to the hMail server via POP3 and retrieves the messages. The problem arises when they send mail between addresses in the same domain, or two addresses that are present on the hMail server. hMail requires SMTP authentication when sending from local to local addresses, so the messages don't arrive. Removing SMTP authentication isn't really an option, as the server has been the target of spam being sent from spoofed local addresses. SMTP authentication prevents this. It is possible to add the ISP's mail server as an IP range with specific rules, but this seems inelegant. Bearing in mind I only have access to the hMail server and not the Exchange server, is there a better way of going about this?

    Hi, does anyone know of a very simple SQL Server client tool - that does the same basic functions as Management Studio (i.e. choose a database and run a query - doesn't need an Object Explorer, or anything fancy)? Ideally it would be great to have a single exe or zip file version that I could take around on a USB key - anything to avoid installing the full set of SQL Server client tools all the time!   • MERGE -v- UPSERT

    Hi, I have an application I’m writing in access with a SQL server backend. One of the most heavily used parts is where the users selects an answer to a question, a stored procedure is then fired which sees if an answer has already been given, if it has an UPDATE is executed, if not an INSERT is executed. This works just fine but now we have upgraded to SQL server 2008 express I was wondering if it would be better/quicker/more efficient to rewrite this SP to use the new MERGE command. Does anyone have any idea if this is faster than doing a SELECT followed by either an INSERT or UPDATE?

    I have setup wake on lan service on my server. Everything works fine on local area network: root@server$: poweroff user@local$ wakeonlan AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF and the server wakes up. AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF is a MAC address of my server, which has IP 192.168.1.2 and hostname: example.com. It is connected to the router, which has IP 192.168.1.1 (public: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) When the server is up, I can ping: ping example.com or login via ssh: ssh [email protected] So far, so good. Now I'm able to wake the server up from local area, but how to wake the server from the remote location? I tried: user@local$ wakeonlan -i xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF, but it does not work (nothing happens;). Do I have to configure my router somehow to forward magic packets? How?

They said they'd train me, but I want to take some initiative to learn about it on my own to be ahead. Where's the best place to start (tutorials, books, etc)?     Our application tends to be running very slow recently. On debugging and tracing found out that the process is showing high cpu cycles and SQL Server shows high I/O activity. Can you please guide as to how it can be optimised? The application is now about an year old and the database file sizes are not very big or anything. The database is set to auto shrink.   • Secondary backup server

    I've been given a task to implement a backup solution in the event of our website goes down. It is a dedicated server running centos 6. From what i've experience on our server, our server may go down because of PHP application crash or hardware failure. I have couple of questions: In the first case, is it possible to get the server restart the PHP automatically, how can I do that? Because in my mind, if it is only the application that goes down, probably I can still make use of the server itself. In the second case, can I redirect a request to a secondary server? How can I do that? What do I need other than another server? For now it is gonna be a simple server which shows the user a static landing page so later the system notify us via email that the primary server went down so that we can restart the server manually. Is it possible to setup just a vps or even a shared server for the secondary server ? As I think there is only gonna be a static page. Thanks. Any help would be much appreciated

    Since EJB 3 we have embeddable EJB containers, JPA implementations can be used without an application server, there is Weld for contexts and dependency injection and so on. Since on many systems is only Tomcat available, I wonder, if Java EE could be used without an application server but with a Servlet container like Tomcat.     We have a strange problem in our team. When a developer is using Eclipse in Debug mode, SQL Server 2005 blocks other developers from accessing a stored procedure. Debug session typically involves opening Hibernate session to persist an entity which could be accessing a stored procedure used for Primary key generation. Debugging is done in business logic code and rarely in JDBC stored procedure call. Is there any way to configure SQL server or the stored procedure so that other developers are not blocked?

  • Connect to ArcGIS Server w/ ArcCatalog

    How does one add a workstation account to the agsadmin group on the server? Does this require both machines to be on the same Windows domain? A colleague cannot connect via ArcCatalog but I don't know how to add his account to the group because the account does not exist on the server. (Oddly I can connect from my machine, but my account is also not a member of the agsadmin group.)
