  • What can you do in C without "std" includes? Are they part of "C," or just libraries?

    I apologize if this is a subjective or repeated question. It's sort of awkward to search for, so I wasn't sure what terms to include. What I'd like to know is what the basic foundation tools/functions are in C when you don't include standard libraries like stdio and stdlib. What could I do if there's no printf(), fopen(), etc? Also, are those libraries technically part of the "C" language, or are they just very useful and effectively essential libraries?

    which one is the fastest way to completely copy a table on mysql ? CREATE TABLE copy LIKE original; INSERT INTO copy SELECT * FROM original; or CREATE TABLE copy SELECT * FROM original; ALTER TABLE copy ADD PRIMARY KEY (id); or theres another way ? PS. can't use command-line tools like mysqldump, must be on-the-fly.

    i tried making library with ar -r -c -s libtestlib.a *.o as given in this tutorial http://matrixprogramming.com/Tools/CompileLink.html But on linking with library following error comes g++ -o uni2asc uni2asc.o -L../Modules -ltestlib ../Modules/libtestlib.a: could not read symbols: Archive has no index; run ranlib to add one collect2: ld returned 1 exit status i tried with ranlib also but still the error comes.. im working with ubuntu9.10 Please suggest me some solution for this

  • Unknown margin being added to a footer in IE6 + 7

    So yeah, like I said, I've spent a few hours trying to fix this bug in the footer that add's an extra 20-30px on to the bottom of the page in IE6 and 7. I've currently set all bottom margins to 0 so as to find what's causing it, I then scoured ie developer tools but came up empty.     I am looking to build a widget for a site which allows users to tag images from individual frames of a video file but would prefer not to have to build a custom Flash tool. Is there an existing free library or framework which simplifies things like this in a webapplication setting? Features would also involve basic video playback functionality as well as time-driven meta-data and the ability to extract images from individual video frames. Are there existing open-source web-based tools for video manipulation other than building your own custom Flash app?

    As an ASP.NET developer, I'm used to working with how VS/C# transparently autogens proxy classes for web references (yes, I know, we're spoiled), but now that I'm creating documentation for more than one coding platform I'm trying to discover what the equivelant to that is in any other framework. So is there a similar way to work transparently with web reference proxy classes for say, RoR, PHP, and Python? And if there's nothing integrated, are there tools you recommend to autogen the proxy classes, or do you recommend to roll custom classes?

  • How to autodoc .Net Google code projects?

    I know how to generate html documentation using Sandcastle and similar tools. But if I want to host the project on Google code, how can I easily publish the documentation straight into the Google project Wiki pages? I can see the SVN repository has a wiki folder which I assume maps to the project Wiki pages and I guess I can make a build step to build the documentation from the autodoc tags. But is there some tool that generates wiki compatible format from the code documentation tags?

  • database design: table with large amount of columns (50+) or many sub tables with small amount of co

    In our oroject we already have a lots of tables (100+). Some of them contains a lot of columns (50-100) and we are facing the need of adding more columns from time to time. What do you think is best - from maintenance and performance point of view - to split these huge tables in smaller entities or to keep the tables the way they are ? We are using an ORM tools, so we don't need to write custom request.
