• Styling individual radio buttons in drupal form

  I have this group of radio buttons in which each of individual button has of its own position set through style attribute. I would like to how can I archive the same by using drupal form api. I found how to style as whole but, not as individual control within group. Here's how my html code look like - <input type="radio" name="base_location" checked="checked" value="0" style="margin-left:70px;float:left;"/><span style="float:left;">District</span> <input type="radio" name="base_location" value="1" style="margin-left:50px;float:left;"/><span style="float:left;">MRT</span> <input type="radio" name="base_location" value="2" style="margin-left:60px;float:left;"/><span style="float:left;">Address</span> And this is the drupal code I'm stuck at - $form['base_location'] = array( '#type' => 'radios', '#title' => t('base location'), '#default_value' => variable_get('search_type', 0), '#options' => array( '0'=>t('District'), '1'=>t('MRT'), '2'=>t('Address')), '#description' => t('base location'), I'm aware of #type=radio existence. However, I do not know how to group all my radio buttons together in this regard. If I use same array key for all of them, they would collide each other. • dynamic JSF composite component styling/rendering

  I've a little problem with a composite component. • Trying to replace contents of a Div, with no luck

  Ive tried to use the Dom model with no bloody luck, getElementByID just doesnt work for me. I loathe to resort to a regex but not sure what else to do. The idea is to replace a <div id="content_div"> all sorts </div> with a new <div id="content_div"> NEW ALL SORTS HERE </div> and keep anything that was before or after it in the string. The string is a partial HTML string and more specifically out of the wordpress Posts DB. Any ideas? UPDATE: I tagged this question PHP but probably should of mentioned Im looking for a PHP solution only. • Signable, streamable, "readable" archive format?

  Is there any archive format that offers the following: be digitally sign-able with a digital certificate from a trusted source like Verisign - for preventing changes to the file (I am not referring to read only, but in case the file was changed it should no longer be signed telling the user this is not the original file) be stream-able - be able to be opened even if not all of the content has been transfered (also not strictly linearly) be "readable" - be able to read the data without extracting to a temporary folder (AFAIK if you open a file in a zip archive it is extracted first, and this stays true even for zip based formats like OOXML. This is not what I want) be portable - support on at least Windows, Linux and Mac OS X is a must, or at least future support be free of patents - Be open source - also preferably a license that allows commercial use(as far as i know GPL a share-alike licence so it doesn't allow comercial use, BSD on the other hand alows it) Note: Though it may come in handy eventually I can not think right now of a scenario that would require both point 1 and point 2 simultaneously. Or lets leave it a be able to check the signature only when the whole file was downloaded. I am not interested in: being able to be compressed being supported on legacy systems Does any existing archive format fit this description (tar evolutions like DAR and pax come to mind) ? If there is, are there programing libraries available for the above mentioned OSs? If not, would it be hard to create such a thing? • Help with HTML hyperlink please

  Hello, Can someone help me with this problem: I have a table in a jsp page, with the text in one column being hyperlinks. Whenever anyone of these hyperlinks is clicked the whole table should refresh and repopulate based on the value of the hyperlink clicked. My problem is currently when the hyperlink is clicked the page refreshes with an empty table. I have the following line of HTML code for performing this in my jsp page: <TD><A href="http://localhost:8080/pmweb/gui.jsp" onclick="getResults(param)">hyperlinktext</A></TD>; Below is my getResults function in javascript in the same JSP page: <script type="text/javascript"> var httpRequest; function getResults(param) { var url = "http://localhost:8080/pmweb/api/GetResultsByParam?param=" + param; httpRequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); httpRequest.open("GET", url, true); httpRequest.onreadystatechange = function() {processRequest(); } ; httpRequest.send(null); } I have verified that the getResults function above is working fine itself. When I debugged it I noticed that this getResults function is not entered when the hyperlink is clicked. Anyone know how to get the hyperlink calling the javascript function properly? • Memorystream and Large Object Heap

  I have to transfer large files between computers on via unreliable connections using WCF. Because I want to be able to resume the file and I don't want to be limited in my filesize by WCF, I am chunking the files into 1MB pieces. These "chunk" are transported as stream. Which works quite nice, so far. My steps are: open filestream read chunk from file into byet[] and create memorystream transfer chunk back to 2. until the whole file is sent My problem is in step 2. I assume that when I create a memory stream from a byte array, it will end up on the LOH and ultimately cause an outofmemory exception. I could not actually create this error, maybe I am wrong in my assumption. Now, I don't want to send the byte[] in the message, as WCF will tell me the array size is too big. I can change the max allowed array size and/or the size of my chunk, but I hope there is another solution. My actual question(s): Will my current solution create objects on the LOH and will that cause me problem? Is there a better way to solve this? Btw.: On the receiving side I simple read smaller chunks from the arriving stream and write them directly into the file, so no large byte arrays involved.

• Clicking on MenuItem without clicking on the text

  I've got a Menu, and I want to click on the menu, but not on the text if you guys know what i mean. The MenuItem has a border, or something like this, but when I click on it it won't redirect to the page I want unless I click on text. Is it possible to click on the whole "Button" and redirect or do what is need to do? • Catch FileNotFoundException in AsyncTask method

  I'm getting the favicon of a website with a method. Of course not every website has a favicon. So I want to catch it. The app doesn't crash if the website doesn't have a favicon but I still get an FileNotFoundException in the LogCat. The problem I'm encountering is that I can't catch it When I add `catch (FileNotFoundException f) to my try-catch block it tells me Unreachable catch block for FileNotFoundException. This exception is never thrown from the try statement body. The options I have is to remove it or to add a throws declaration to the doInBackground-method. The latter is not possible. • AnkhSVN: Cannot checkout Subsolution due to existing "versioned" folder

  Hello Everyone I am using Subversion since quite some time for Java-Development and I have setup a repository on my local NAS. Since I have a MSDN subscription via my company I recently installed Visual Studio 2010 to do a small project with .NET. According to some "best-practices" my project folder looks like the following. MySolution main.sln Services services.sln Service A files Service A Test files View projectfiles Persistence persistence.sln PersistenceXml files PersistenceXml Test files PersistenceDB files PersistenceDB Test files The idea is, that the main.sln only contains the projects for the application, meaning no test projects. The subsolutions, contain the project(s) and their corresponding testprojects. I was able to put all those projects under versioncontrol with AnkhSVN, so I have the same structure there in my trunk. Commiting changes was also no problem. Now I would like to check the this out on another machine. I was able to check out the main.sln which downloaded everything that was inside this solution. It skipped the services.sln, persistence.sln and all the test-projects. Until now everything is fine. Now, here comes the problem: when I am tryting to check out the subsolution (eg. services.sln) I get an error, I think it was UnsupportedOperation. I guess this happens because ankhsvn is tryting to download the folder Service A again and create ist hidden .svn folder which is already present. The only workaround I can think of by now is installing Tortoise SVN and check out the whole thing at once. It would be nicer though to have everything from within VS. Does anyone know how I can solve this? Is another client the only solution?

• more problems with the LAG function is SAS

  The following bit of SAS code is supposed to read from a dataset which contains a numeric variable called 'Radvalue'. Radvalue is the temperature of a radiator, and if a radiator is switched off but then its temperature increases by 2 or more it's a sign that it has come on, and if it is on but its temperature decreases by 2 or more it's a sign that it's gone off. Radstate is a new variable in the dataset which indicates for every observation whether the radiator is on or off, and it's this I'm trying to fill in automatically for the whole dataset. So I'm trying to use the LAG function, trying to initialise the first row, which doesn't have a dif_radvalue, and then trying to apply the algorithm I just described to row 2 onwards. Any idea why the columns Radstate and l_radstate come out completely blank? Thanks everso much!! Let me know if I haven't explained the problem clearly. Order is entered by Employee. 1) Application starts and asks for login/password 2) Employee selects 'Orders' from Mainmenu form 3) Orders forms opens.... 4) Employee selects Customer 5) Employee selects Stock adds to OrderLineItems 6) Selects second StockItem; add to OrderLineItems 7) Order is committed, [stock decremented, order posted to DB, Order printed] 8) Employee is returned to MainMenu Now with Object scope: 1) Application starts and asks for login/password Is this the best place to make objEmployee, to be kept whilst in this whole Sales application? 2) Employee selects 'Orders' from Mainmenu form 3) Orders forms opens.... *Make objOrderHeader, is objEmployee able to be passed in or is it created here, or re-created here.* 4) Employee selects Customer - adds/edits Customer details if required... • UIButton only responds in a small area

  I'm trying to add a UIButton to a UIView, but am having some trouble with getting it to respond to touches. I have a method which returns UIButtons after I provide it with a tag: - (UIButton*)niceSizeButtonWithTag:(int)tag { UIButton * aButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [aButton setTag:tag]; [aButton addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonWasTapped:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; CGRect newFrame = aButton.frame; newFrame.size.width = 44; newFrame.size.height = 44; [aButton setFrame:newFrame]; return aButton; } As you can see I'm creating a new button and increasing the size. I use this in the following way: UIButton * anotherButton = [self niceSizeButtonWithTag:1]; [anotherButton setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"image" withExtension:@"png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [anotherButton setCenter:CGPointMake(middleOfView)]; [aView addSubview:anotherButton]; I create a lot of buttons like this, hence the reason for the method. The buttons are always created and added to the subview perfectly. I can see the image and they're in the correct position. The problem is that they only respond to touches in a tiny strip. In this attached image, The yellow shows the whole frame of the button, The red shows the area that will respond to touches. The grey shows a section of the view the button is added to. If anyone could shed some light on why this is happening, it would be really useful.

  Wait, I know! I know that this "syntax highlight in textarea"-question was raised like a million times on stackoverflow! But, please, listen. offtopic: I'm not a web-developer, and technically I'm not a programmer at all. I study mechatronics and deal mostly with control-engineering and digital-hardware. And I'm so pissed off that whenever I want to share some application (that would be helpful in my field) and embed it into the web, I need to know such a crazy amount of technologies, like html, css, javascript, flash, etc.. that takes time, which I could have been spending for the benefit of my own field. Right now I'm playing with hardware-description-languages and I'm writing some Python-libraries to convert one HDL into another. And I wanted to embed such feature on the web: http://xhdl2vhdl.appspot.com/ I wanted to implement some basic syntax highlighting (only keywords highlighting will be enough) so that the code could be readable. But the whole idea highlighting something in textarea is not trivial at all. The other difficulty is that the languages I work with are rare, and there are no out-of-box solutions for them. • jsf messed up links

  I'm new to JSF. My application is working, but I'm confused with links in browser when using controller. BTW, there is also PrimeFaces in my app so don't be suprised with p: tags. Let's say I have 'list' and 'show' pages with controller doing redirection between them. First I'm on http://localhost:8080/y/r/conversation/list.xhtml page. There is link created with line <p:commandLink action="#{lazyConversationBean.doShow(conv)}" ajax="false" value="View"/>. lazyConversationBean acts here as my Controller. There is method: public String doShow(Conversation c) { this.setSelectedConversation(c); return "view"; } from which I got redirected to ...... again http://localhost:8080/y/r/conversation/list.xhtml (browser shows it) even when it's correct http://localhost:8080/y/r/conversation/view.xhtml page. There I have link <p:commandButton action="#{lazyConversationBean.doList()}" ajax="false" value="Back to list"/> and again controller has method: public String doList() { return "list"; } from which I got redirected to ... yeah, you guessed right ... http://localhost:8080/y/r/conversation/view.xhtml (that is again what browser shows) even when again it is correct http://localhost:8080/y/r/conversation/list.xhtml page. It seams as browser link area is always one step behind page currently being displayed. I don't even know if it's some incorrect behaviour as I have no idea how to query google for this :D Just for test I did this short tutorial, where netbeans created whole stack of code on one of my entities, and behaviour was the same, so it's not PrimeFaces magic related. Can you tell my why it happens, and how to fix it? Users likes to copy correct links ;)

• Recursion in prepared statements

  I've been using PDO and preparing all my statements primarily for security reasons. However, I have a part of my code that does execute the same statement many times with different parameters, and I thought this would be where the prepared statements really shine. But they actually break the code... The basic logic of the code is this. function someFunction($something) { global $pdo; $array = array(); static $handle = null; if (!$handle) { $handle = $pdo->prepare("A STATEMENT WITH :a_param"); } $handle->bindValue(":a_param", $something); if ($handle->execute()) { while ($row = $handle->fetch()) { $array[] = someFunction($row['blah']); } } return $array; } It looked fine to me, but it was missing out a lot of rows. Eventually I realised that the statement handle was being changed (executed with different param), which means the call to fetch in the while loop will only ever work once, then the function calls itself again, and the result set is changed. So I am wondering what's the best way of using PDO prepared statements in a recursive way. One way could be to use fetchAll(), but it says in the manual that has a substantial overhead. The whole point of this is to make it more efficient. The other thing I could do is not reuse a static handle, and instead make a new one every time. I believe that since the query string is the same, internally the MySQL driver will be using a prepared statement anyway, so there is just the small overhead of creating a new handle on each recursive call. Personally I think that defeats the point. Or is there some way of rewriting this?

• What are the common compliance standards for software products?

  This is a very generic question about software products. I would like to know what compliance standards are applicable to any software product. I know that question gives away nothing. So, here is an example to what I am referring to. CiSecurity Security Certification/Compliance lists out products ceritified by them to be compliant to the standards published at their website, i.e, cisecurity.org. Compliance could be as simple as answering a questionnaire for your product and approved by a thirdparty like cisecurity or it could apply to your whole organization, for instance, PCI-DSS compliance. I would be very interested in knowing the standards that products you know/designed/created, comply to. To give you the context behind this question: I am the developer of a data-masking tool. The said tool helps mask onscreen html text in a banking web application using filters. So, for instance, if the bank application lists out user information with ssn, my product when integrated with the banking product, automatically identifies ssn pattern and masks it into a pre-defined format.So, I have my product marketing team wanting more buzz words like compliance to be able to sell it to more banking clients. Hence, understanding "compliances that apply to products" is a key research item for me at this point. By which I meant, security compliances. Appreciate all your help and suggestions.

  My question is about putting data elements (from groovy script) in the response in SoapUI. I've an array of data that I would like to put in my response (in different tags/elements) I'm aware of putting a simple element like this: The element "MyName" in the Xml response: <ns:MyName>${MyName}</ns:MyName> Is mapped from the Groovy script by context.setProperty("MyName" , "My name" ) Now the problem: my Xml response looks like this: <soapenv:Body> <ns:GetDataSummaryResponse> <!--Optional:--> <ns:GetDataSummaryResult> <ns:DataSummary> <!--Zero or more repetitions:--> <ns:DataSummaryResponseDetail> <ns:Name>?</ns:Name> <!--Optional:--> <ns:DataProgress> <!--Optional:--> <From>?</From> <!--Optional:--> <Procent>?</Procent> <!--Optional:--> <To>?</To> <!--Optional:--> In Groovy I've built data array which is filled with data for example like this: context:[DataSummary:[DataSummaryResponseDetail:[Name:My name, DataProgress:[From:some text, Procent:some value, To:some text]]] In the response I'm able to see the whole value of ${DataSummary} but how do I get the element "Procent" I maybe am wrong about how to build my context data, but feel free to adjust! • using an alternative string quotation syntax in python

  Just wondering... I find using escape characters too distracting. I'd rather do something like this: print ^'Let's begin and end with sets of unlikely 2 chars and bingo!'^ Let's begin and end with sets of unlikely 2 chars and bingo! Note the ' inside the string, and how this syntax would have no issue with it, or whatever else inside for basically all cases. Too bad markdown can't properly colorize it (yet), so I decided to <pre> it. Sure, the ^ could be any other char, I'm not sure what would look/work better. That sounds good enough to me, tho. Probably some other language already have a similar solution. And, just maybe, Python already have such a feature and I overlooked it. I hope this is the case. But if it isn't, would it be too hard to, somehow, change Python's interpreter and be able to select an arbitrary (or even standardized) syntax for notating the strings? I realize there are many ways to change statements and the whole syntax in general by using pre-compilators, but this is far more specific. And going any of those routes is what I call "too hard". I'm not really needing to do this so, again, I'm just wondering.

• Multiple websites, Single sign-on design

  Hi all, I have a question. A client I have been doing some work recently has a range of websites with different login mechanisms. He is looking to slowly migrate to a single sign-on mechanism for his websites (all written in asp.net mvc). I am looking at my options here, so here is a list of requirements: 1) It has to be secure (duh) 2) It needs to support extra user properties over and above the usual name, address stuff (such as money or credits for a user) 3) It has to provide a centralized user management web console for his convenience (I understand that this will be a small project on top of whatever design solution I choose to go for) 4) It has to integrate with the existing websites without re-engineering the whole product (I understand that this depends on the current product implementation). 5) It has to deal with emailing the user when he registers (in order for him to activate his account) 6) It has to deal with activating the user when he clicks the activate me link in the email (I understand that 5 and 6 require some form of email templating system to support different emails per application) I was thinking of creating a library working together with forms authentication that exposes whatever methods are required (e.g. login, logout, activate, etc. and a small restful service to implement activation from email, registration processing etc. Taking into account that loads of things have been left out to make this question brief and to the point, does this sound like a good design? But this looks like a very common problem so arent there any existing projects that I could use? Thanks for reading.

• Calculating moving average/stdev in SAS?

  Hye guys, I included a screenshot to help clarify my problem: http://i40.tinypic.com/mcrnmv.jpg. I'm trying to calculate some kind of moving average and moving standard deviation. The thing is I want to calculate the coefficients of variation (stdev/avg) for the actual value. Normally this is done by calculating the stdev and avg for the past 5 years. However sometimes there will be observations in my database for which I do not have the information of the past 5 years (maybe only 3, 2 etc). That's why i want a code that will calculate the avg and stdev even if there is no information for the whole 5 years. Also, as you see in the observations, sometimes I have information over more than 5 years, when this is the case I need some kind of moving average which allows me to calculate the avg and stdev for the past 5 year. So if a company has information for 7 years I need some kind of code that will calculate the avg and stdev for, lets say, 1997 (by 1991-1996), 1998 (by 1992-1997) and 1999 (1993-1998). As i'm not very familiar with sas commands it should look (very very roughly) like: set var if year = i then stdev=stdev(year(i-6) untill year(i-1)) and average = avg(year(i-6) untill year(i-1)) Or something like this, I really have no clue, I'm gonna try and figure it out but it's worth posting it if I won't find it myself. • Design patterns for Agent / Actor based concurrent design.

  Recently i have been getting into alternative languages that support an actor/agent/shared nothing architecture - ie. scala, clojure etc (clojure also supports shared state). So far most of the documentation that I have read focus around the intro level. What I am looking for is more advanced documentation along the gang of four but instead shared nothing based. Why ? It helps to grok the change in design thinking. Simple examples are easy, but in a real world java application (single threaded) you can have object graphs with 1000's of members with complex relationships. But with agent based concurrency development it introduces a whole new set of ideas to comprehend when designing large systems. ie. Agent granularity - how much state should one agent manage - implications on performance etc or are their good patterns for mapping shared state object graphs to agent based system. tips on mapping domain models to design. Discussions not on the technology but more on how to BEST use the technology in design (real world "complex" examples would be great).

• Read Java in as Hex

  Hi, I have tried to solve this but I keep coming up with stuff that is no help I'm sure this is easy (when you know how of course ;) ) What I would like to do is read in a file using a byte stream like below: while((read = in.read()) != -1){ //code removed to save space Integer.toHexString(read); System.out.println(read); } When it prints out the Hex to the screen it will print out numbers fine e.g 31 13 12 0 but when it comes to a hex code that should be 01 31 it will print 0 131. I want to read it in to a variable like you would see in a hex editor i.e 00 11 21 31 no single numbers as i need to scan the whole file and look for patterns which I know how to do I'm just stuck on this :/ so in short i need a variabe to contain the two hex characters i.e int temp = 01 not int temp = 0 , I hope this all makes sense, I'm a little confused as it's 3am! If anyone knows how to do this I would be most greatful, p.s thanks for the help in advance this site has saved me loads of research and have learnt a lot! Many thanks.

• iPhone: Using dispatch_after to mimick NSTimer

  Don't know a whole lot about blocks. How would you go about mimicking a repeating NSTimer with dispatch_after? My problem is that I want to "pause" a timer when the app moves to the background, but subclassing NSTimer does not seem to work. I tried something which seems to work. I cannot judge its performance implications or whether it could be greatly optimized.
