• How can I translate my programmatic WCF configuration into app.config

  Hi, I have an self hosted WCF server with hard coded configurations. the server worked fine until I tried to implement some new functionality. the new setting did not work (urrr.... ) and I find it hard to locate where are the problems in my code. instead of digging inside the code, I thought about different approach: Is there any way to dump those hard coded WCF configuration (the entire ) into app.config like text file after all configurations are loaded? this will enable me to have a easy global view of the entire settings .. mmm .. .by the way, does anyone know a way that will do the translation to the opposite direction? config to code. • Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css?

  I am hiding an element using inline css, like so: <span class="hidden-nojs" style="display:none">Some text</span> Next I use jQuery to show the element, like so: $(".hidden-nojs").show(); This works great. As soon as I remove the inline css and put display:none on the external css stylesheet for the hidden-nojs class, it stops working. This is what I wrote in the external stylesheet: .hidden-nojs { display: none; } I'm assuming that the external stylesheet loads after the jQuery has already run? This is somewhat annoying as I would like to hide multiple elements with css and would like to avoid using inline css. Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css? How can I fix this problem?

• mysql - how do I load data from a different configuration...

  I'm not sure if this will make sense, but I'll give it a shot. My hard drive went down and I had to reinstall the os along with all my webserver configuration,etc. I kept a backup of the mysql database, but it doesn't contain all the tables...I added a couple tables after my last backup. I have access to the hard drive and the directory where the mysql data files are stored from the failed hard drive, but I don't know how to retrieve the data into my new mysql database. Is it even possible to get the raw data files from mysql and load them into a different instance? I'd even be happy if there was some way for phpmyadmin to show the data files, then I could dump out to a backup txt file, and reload them into my new configuration. Any help will be appreciated. thanks.

'dellsysteminfo.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I don't know why.

  Hello. I created several web applications that use the same static files (css, js, images). When I use svn for version control, I use an external repository (svn: externals) to add files to the current project. For example: - Project_1 ---- Webapp -------- Static (external to static's repo) - Project_2 ---- Webapp -------- Static (external to static's repo) I could easily use it in their web pages by adding a link like /static/ ... But now our company has moved to perforce. How can I support the current structure? We also use maven, I think to pack these files as a jar and use as a dependency, but then my editor (idea) does not see that this dependence are js-scripts and styles. And i need to repackage and deploy jar file when create minor changes. How to use maven correctly?

  I have a django project that uses a sqlite database that can be written to by an external tool. The text is supposed to be UTF-8, but in some cases there will be errors in the encoding. The text is from an external source, so I cannot control the encoding. Yes, I know that I could write a "wrapping layer" between the external source and the database, but I prefer not having to do this, especially since the database already contains a lot of "bad" data. The solution in sqlite is to change the text_factory to something like: lambda x: unicode(x, "utf-8", "ignore") However, I don't know how to tell the Django model driver this.

• ASP.NET Build Images Links Dynamically

  Good Day, I am developing a website that has product images on an external server. I have code that tests to see if the image exists like (pseudo code): DynamicString = FunctionThatCreatesDynamicString() ' DynamicString = "http://external_server/path/to/file1.jpg" If ImageExists(DyanmicString) = StatusCode.200 Then ' Embed link in ASP.NET page Else ' Embed not found image in ASP.NET page End If My code builds fine and appears to execute. The problem occurs when I attempt to view the external link in a browser, the image appears properly (I have to authenticate first, but that's OK considering I'm on an internal network and this app will be used internally). However, when I attempt the view the source in my generated HTML page, I am seeing the image to the "Not Found" image when I know the image is there. I compared all the characters in my dynamically assembled to the external link and all the characters are matching up correctly. I'm wondering if the authentication has anything to do with why the image is not rendering properly on my rendered HTML. Any thoughts? TIA, coson

If things come to be radio button, image control or datagridview, it's hard for me to use data binding. For example, it's hard for me to bind a group of radio button to a database field. It's hard for me to pre-process the data in database and then bind to datagridview control(I know I can use view to do this, but it is not that convenient) So I really want to know, most of you guys when will use data binding? And how will you use it ?

  i have some html files as part of a regular website that has been ported over to asp.net mvc. • How secure is a PostgreSQL database if my server is stolen?

  If I have a server with a database if top secret data in PostgreSQL and my password is practically impossible to crack (128 character string of all sorts of weird chars, generated by hand). The server password is also uncrackable in theory (basically, ignore the possibility of a password crack on the DB). Aside from a password crack, how easy is it to get the data out of this database? Assumptions: Only the DB exists on the server. There is no password in a PHP script or anything like that The person who has the server is a computer / DB / hard-drive recovery expert I'm not using any hard-drive encryption or anything out of the norm for protection I'm trying to understand the risks involved with somebody gaining physical access to my server's hard-drives.

• Desktop PC Raid 5 or JBOD?

  I have a desktop PC and I want to get alot of space for movies, music, and pictures. I probably will not be deleting files. I am running Windows 7 on my system. It is kind of silly I just want the physical drives to be labeled as a single letter drive. And probably map my video, documents, pictures and music on that single drive. The main reason I considered RAID 5 because I would be lazy to get the data I lost and hopefully that if I get a new drive, it would rebuild it. So my question is which would be better? A second question is can I get RAID card that has only 2 internal connectors and still do RAID 5? or do I have to get a RAID card that has 4 internal connectors.

  Hi, I am using data grid view to display items as excel spread sheet in VB.NET. I got a table named CostTypes with column names [CostTypeID, CostType] and values [1,External] and [2,Internal] (These are constant but more values can be added to table). I want to create columns with names of the values[External , Internal] in DataGridView. If I use databiding directly I get columns [CostTypeID,CostType] which is not what I am looking for. If some one could explain how to create columns at runtime in datagridview or how to retrieve data from data base using LINQ so that [External , Internal] turn out to be columns that would be great.   I'm using the module pattern, one of the things I want to do is dynamically include an external JavaScript file, execute the file, and then use the functions/variables in the file in the return { } of my module. I can't figure out how to do this easily. • imported vm gives "failed to open/create network" error

  steps: 1. created a vm in windows 2. partitioned drive and installed ubuntu 3. exported the vm I created 4. mounted windows drive in ubuntu 5. imported the vm from the export, in the mounted drive 6. tried to start vm, got the following error: "Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XXXX. Basically I want a way to let NetBeans operate on an external disk space that I connect to using SSH, In my case I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.3 locally and the external disk space is located on some Amazon-ec2 machine.   I have a Perl script that forks. Each fork runs an external program, parses the output, and converts the output to a Storable file. The Storable files are then read in by the parent and the total data from each of the children are analyzed before proceeding onto a repeat of the previous fork or else the parent stops. What exactly happens when I issue a ^C while some of the children are still running the external program? The parent perl script was called in the foreground and, I presume, remained in the foreground despite the forking. Is the SIGINT passed to all children, that is, the parent, the parent's children, and the external program called by the children??

The problem is that main script must not wait for external PHP script to finish. Result of external script is important, so exec('php -f file.php &') is not an option.

• Why do my Xcode default font starts to look ugly after some time, until I restart?

  I plugged in an external monitor. All resolutions match perfectly. MacBookPro LCD is closed. After about 10 minutes my fonts in Xcode start to look very bad. Only in Xcode. When I restart the mac and don't use an external monitor, fonts look all right again. When I attach the monitor again, fonts look nice. Then I close XCode and reopen it: Fonts suck. All other fonts look great. It seems like Xcode isn't antialiasing them properly after something happens. For my observation it happens when I quit and reopen Xcode while an external monitor is in use. Only way to fix it then is to completely reboot. Is there a fix for this problem?

  I implemented a virtual filesystem using Dokan. I tried to set the drive letter to C but it errors every time. I was wondering if there is a different virtual filesystem which will allow me to do that or if there is a way of fixing it. Is there some windows api call which will allow me to remount the filesystem in a folder? Thanks!!! EDIT: The windows manager does not list the virtual drive, so I cannot mount it through the usual Windows interface. Also, I tried to change the drive name through the property interface and it wouldnt let me do that either.

• Finding files with bash and copy to another location and reducing depth of folders

  I'm trying to recover a mates hard drive, there is no structure what so ever so music and images are everywhere but in named folders sometimes 5 folders deep, I've managed to write a one-liner that finds the files and copies them to a mounted drive but it preserves the file structure completely. What I'm after is a bit of code that searches the drive and copies to another location and copies just the parent folder with the mp3/jpg files within and not the complete path. The other issue I have is the music is /folder/folder/folder/Artist/1.mp3..2.mp3..10.mp3 etc etc so I have to preserve the folder 'Artist' to give him any hope of finding his tracks again. What I have working currently: find /media/HP/ -name *.mp3 -fprintf /media/HP/MUSIC/Script.sh 'mkdir -p "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h" \n cp "%h/%f" "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h/"\n' I then run the script.sh and it does all the copying.
