  • Distribute CouchDB as part of a Rails app?

    I am working on a Rails project and the Architect has asked me to investigate bundling CouchDB into to application so that it can be deployed by Capistrano across multiple platforms and managed by Rake. My expectation was that I could set up the Erlang VM on the various environments and then distribute the CouchDB application with Capistrano. However I can't find any option to download CouchDB without the Erlang runtime. I can, however see an option to build CouchDB from source which I assume is platform dependent. I am new to Erlang and CouchBD, am I missing something? Is there a way to bundle CouchDB into a Rails app and distribute it across multiple platforms?

    My eclipse flipped out, and now will not run any of my Android projects, all of which were working fine before. If I try to right click and run as Android project, nothing happens. If I go to properties of the project and go to run/debug settings and try to create a new one, I get an error dialog that says 'Update LCD' has encountered a problem. An internal error has occured.     I have a web service asp.net project which has a global.asax with empty Application_Start and Application_End implementations. As far as I can understand, in this case it is of no use and could be removed (correct me if I'm wrong). Do I need to do anything other than delete global.asax and global.asax.cs (such as change something in web.config or in the project settings)? Just asking in order to not screw up some dependencies I'm not aware of...

  • Compiling SWC file from FDT

    Hi guys, I've made a library which I'd like to compile to an SWC file, I've tried to do this in FDT by choosing FDT AS3 Library as Run settings, but all I end up with is a 0kb .swc file. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I can't find much when I google it either, if anybody has a quick walkthrough on how to do it saved in your bookmarks or something, that would be great!   • Debugging CodeIgniters 404 errors

    I'm having a nightmare uploading my site to the production server. The site runs fine locally and on a staging server (exactly the same server, settings as the production site). However when I deploy to production I'm getting a 404 error from CI. CodeIgniters 404 error pages are frustrating because it seems as if i can't access other libraries from them. How can I go about debugging the error? See which controller is trying to be called etc.

  • iOS4.2: TouchBegan does not draw more then one circle per sensed touch

    Hi all, quick question (which might be a no-brainer for most here) :) My code below should draw a circle for every time touch that is recognised but although more than ones touches are sensed only one circle will drawn up at a time. Can anyone see any obvious issues? This method sits in the XYZViewControler.m class. TouchPoint.m is the class that defines the circle. Thanks a bundle for your help and redirects.   • Trying to understand NavigationController retain count for ViewControllers on its stack

    I have an UITableViewController as the rootViewController for my navigatorController. When I press a table cell I do the following: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { MessageHistory *msg = (MessageHistory *)[[self fetchedResultsController]objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; ConversationViewController *chatController = [[ConversationViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"ConversationView" bundle:nil andUser:msg.user]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:chatController animated:YES]; [chatController release]; But when I'm returning from the chatController (using the back button on the navbar) I get “EXC_BAD_ACCESS” commenting //[chatController release]; solves the problem. How? I thought when pushing to the navigationController adds a retain count and when pop from it release it? Also I believe if I'm not including the release after pushing to the navcontroller I'm generating a leak. Any idea what's happening here?

  • Trying to configure HWIC-3G-HSPA

    I'm trying to configure a couple of Cisco 1941 routes. The are both identical routers. Each as a HWIC-1T (Smart Serial interface) and a HWIC-3G-HSPA 3G interface. These routers are to be sent to remote sites. We have connectivity to one of the sites but if remote site A gors down we lose connectivity to remote site B. The HWIC-1T is the primary WAN interface using frame relay joining the two remote sites We want the HWIC-3G-HSPA to be usable for direct connectivity from head office to remote site B, and also the HWIC-3G-HSPA is do be used for comms between the remote sites when the frame relay is down (happens quite a bit). I initialy tried to do dynamic routing using EIGRP however in my lab setup of laptop - 1941 - 1941 - laptop, I was unable to get end to end connectivity. I later settled on static routing and have got end to end connectivity but only over frame relay, not the HWIC-3G-HSPA. I've tried using kron to ping the local HWIC-3G-HSPA interface (cellular 0/1/0) every minute but that hasn't been successful. Manually pinging the IP assigned (by the telco) to ce0/1/0 does bring the interface up. Any ideas? Thanks

  • Set default browser when debugging WPF?

    I'm using VWD Express 2008 to develop a WPF Browser Application. When I start debugging, it launches the XBAP in my default browser, which is Opera. Obviously, XBAPs don't work in Opera, so I have to repeatedly right-click on the document to open in IE. Is there any way to change the settings for PresentationHost.exe so that it always opens with IE? A registry setting, perhaps?

  • Correct way to make datasources/resources a deploy-time setting

    I have a web-app that requires two settings: A JDBC datasource A string token I desperately want to be able to deploy one .war to various different containers (jetty,tomcat,gf3 minimum) and configure these settings at application level within the container. My code does this: InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); Context envCtx = (javax.naming.Context) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env"); token = (String)envCtx.lookup("token"); ds = (DataSource)envCtx.lookup("jdbc/datasource") Let's assume I've used the glassfish management interface to create two jdbc resources: jdbc/test-datasource and jdbc/live-datasource which connect to different copies of the same schema, on different servers, different credentials etc. Say I want to deploy this to glassfish with and point it at the test datasource, I might have this in my sun-web.xml: ... <resource-ref> <res-ref-name>jdbc/datasource</res-ref-name> <jndi-name>jdbc/test-datasource</jndi-name> </resource-ref> ... but sun-web.xml goes inside my war, right? surely there must be a way to do this through the management interface Am I even trying to do the right thing? Do other containers make this any easier? I'd be particularly interested in how jetty 7 handles this since I use it for development.     Hi all, I have an application with a tab bar controller and each view contains a navigation controller. My MainWindow looks as follows: Everything works fine as it is but I noticed a problem when pushing a details view to the navigation controller. In the didSelectRowAtIndexPath for a tableviewcontroller that belongs to the tab bar controller (the one called Latest in the image) I am doing this: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { ArticleViewController *articleController = [[ArticleViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ArticleView" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:articleController animated:YES]; [articleController release]; articleController = nil; } The ArticleViewController has its own tabbar because it needs to display different things. The problem is that when I push the ArticleViewController into the navigationController I see both tabbars at the bottom of the view. Is there any way I can solve this problem? Thanks in advance

Is there a way to cancel user registration, when a new user submits the registration web form with the default Robot value? (i.e. only Male and Female values are allowed). I've looked at the core Trigger module, but don't see anything suitable there. I've looked at the hook_user_presave and hook_user_insert API docs, but don't see a way there to cancel an ongoing user registration. (I was expecting to do that by returning a special value from those methods...) Thank you! Alex

    I have several buttons on my main UIViewController (main menu) that creates and adds a subview UIViewController on top of the main menu. When I remove the subview the memory from that controller is not released. How can I release that subviews memory instantly? Does anyone have an example? This would solve all my problems!
