• Indexing XMLType columns

  Hello, I am working with a XMLType and currently experiencing significant performance issues and would like to incorporate indexing to the column type. Currently I am taking the approach of using the XMLTable() and XQuery functions to create a virtual table. I would like to use this Virtual Table to create a function based index on the table containing the XMLType, but I am receiving this error: Error report: SQL Error: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis 00907. 00000 - "missing right parenthesis" *Cause: *Action: This is the index.. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.   I am trying to json_encode an array, which is what returns from a Zend_DB query. var_dump gives: (Manually adding 0 member does not change the picture). array(3) { [1]=> array(3) { ["comment_id"]=> string(1) "1" ["erasable"]=> string(1) "1" ["comment"]=> string(6) "test 1" } [2]=> array(3) { ["comment_id"]=> string(1) "2" ["erasable"]=> string(1) "1" ["comment"]=> string(6) "test 1" } [3]=> array(3) { ["comment_id"]=> string(1) "3" ["erasable"]=> string(1) "1" ["comment"]=> string(6) "jhghjg" } } The encoded string looks: {"1":{"comment_id":"1","erasable":"1","comment":"test 1"}, "2":{"comment_id":"2","erasable":"1","comment":"test 1"}, "3":{"comment_id":"3","erasable":"1","comment":"jhghjg"}} While I need it as: [{"comment_id":"1","erasable":"1","comment":"test 1"}, {"comment_id":"2","erasable":"1","comment":"test 1"}, {"comment_id":"3","erasable":"1","comment":"jhghjg"}] As the php.ini/json__encode documentation says it should. Any ideas?

  This is what I have in my schema section of my WSDL to specify the field has to be comparison operators <xsd:simpleType> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:pattern value="&lt;|&gt;|&lt;=|&gt;=|="/> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType> SoapUI complains about this part of the WSDL, I tried to set the value to something with non special characters and the WSDL is valid. So I tried to replace that whole long string to be value=">gt;" and it valid but value="<lt;" is not valid, and value=">" is also not valid. My question is, why does the WSDL validation need > to be double escaped? The main question is, how to provide a valid less than side within the pattern value.

• Android: Alignment of four squares

  Hello There I am trying to align four equally sized squares on an Android Screen & I have now tried what feels like a million different approaches, yet none of them seem to work :(. What I've got at the moment is the following: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/MasterLayout" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:background="#FFFFFF" <TableRow android:layout_weight="1" android:background="#BBBBBB" android:padding="0dip"> <TableRow android:layout_weight="1" android:padding="0dip"> This basically does the job. However, every one of those four Images has a huge padding above and under it. How do I get rid of that? Or do I need to use a different Layout type alltogether? Right now my best thoughts are to use Java's XPATH querying or Node.indexOf. • Serialize() not using .XmlSerializers.dll produced with Sgen

  I have a sgen step in my .NET 3.5 library, producing a correct XYZ.XmlSerializers.dll in the output directory. Still having poor serialization performance, I discovered that .NET was still invoking a csc at runtime. Using process monitor, I saw that .NET was searching for a dll named "XYZ.XmlSerializers.-1378521009.dll". Why is there a '-1378521009' in the filename ? How to tell .NET to use the 'normal' DLL produced by sgen ?

• Zend_Form: Is this really the way we should be doing things?

  OK. I understand how to use Zend_Form and it's implementation of the decorator pattern. My question is, is this the best way to be going about creating forms? Shouldn't a documents forms be left to to the front-end rather than generating forms programmatically? Doesn't this kinda violate the whole idea of keeping things separate? I mean, really, even providing that you have a good understanding of the methodology being employed, does it really save one that much time? I guess what I'm looking for is some guidance as to what might be considered 'best practice'. I'm not saying that Zend_Form doesn't have it's place, I'm just wondering if it should be used in all cases (or not). And this has nothing to do with validation. I'm just thinking that something more akin to using the 'ViewScript' approach might be more appropriate in most cases. Your thoughts?

My function starts a transaction and then calls another method that also attempts to start a transaction and of course fails(I am using MySQL5). So, the question is - how do I detect that transaction has already been started?   I've been encountering a seeming deadlock with one of my tables and the only place I can trace it back to is a stored procedure that uses sp_xml_preparedocument on a list of data. The data inserted, btw, consists of a 100k+ records on average. Is it possible that it is causing the deadlock? What other pitfalls does using sp_xml_preparedocument have?

Since ItemInfoA and ItemInfoB derive from ItemInfo they can also be a member of the array list and the parentItemInfo, therefore when trying to serialize these objects (which can hold many objects in hierarchy) it fails with exception can't generate the xml file - innerexception. My question is: What attributes do I need to add the ItemInfo class so it will be serializable? Note: the exception is only when the ItemInfo[A]/[B] are initialized with parentItemInfo or the arrayList. Help please! Thanks!

• Zend_Router requirements mismatch

  Hello you all: I have two routes that match a url with the same apparent pattern, the difference lies in the $actionRoute, this should only be matched if the variable :action on it equals 'myaction'. If I go to /en/mypage/whatever/myaction it goes as expected through $actionRoute. If I go to /en/mypage/whatever/blahblah it gets rejected by $actionRoute and matched by $genRoute. If I go to /en/mypage/whatever it should be matched by $genRoute but it gets matched by $actionRoute instead throwing and exception because the action noactionAction() does not exist. • Subitems are not all added to a list view in C# using XmlNodeList

  I'm working on extracting data from an RSS feed. In my listview (rowNews), I've got two columns: Title and URL. When the button is clicked, all of the titles of the articles are showing up in the title column, but only one URL is added to the URL column. I switched them around so that the URLs would be added to the first column and all of the correct URLs appeared... leading me to think this is a problem with my listview source (it's my first time working with subitems). • Problem with using the XPATH functions

  I've got a problem with using the XPATH functions. When I try to call some functions like lower-case or upper-case etc,they are not executed and I can't figure the problem out. I included the namespace xmlns:fn="http://www.w3.org/2005/xpath-functions" at the top of my XSL stylesheet and use fn namespace to call these functions but anyway nothing is working. Can anyone explain the reason and what I should do in order to be able to use the following functions? Cheers

• findBy(x) Using Zend_Navigation with custom route

  I am creating my navigation from a db generated array and defining which route to use for some of the uris. when I set the route i am no longer able to use findByUri() as the uri seems to be moved under the properties key example array being used: [id] => 7 [label] => Legal [controller] => index [uri] => /legal [route] => cmsPage [visible] => 1 [params] => Array ( [first] => legal ) snippet of the output: [_properties:protected] => Array ( [uri] => /legal [created] => 2012-10-20 10:23:23 ) When I don't define the route I am able to use findByUri() successfully. currently I am looping through each to find the property that matches the request but it seems a long / wrong approach Is there a way to search by the nested param - or am i doing something wrong with the setup (everything else behaves as expected)
