  • jquery Ajax call resulting in Undefined Error in Firefox

    Hi I've been pulling my hair out for the last few hours with this problem. And the googling has been hampered by the very vagueness of this. So let me apologise for that first. Basically I'm using jquery and ajax (with C#) to return data from the backend and display that to the screen. The code works perfectly for firefox and IE. But when the data gets too large (??) (1500+ table rows) all I get is an undefined popup. Debugging in firefox (3.6) it doesn't even go into the success method. Worse still it doesn't even go into the error method. A lot of superfluous information there, but I'd rather show everything I'm doing.     Say I have the following table definitions in SQL Server 2008: CREATE TABLE Person (PersonId INT IDENTITY NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, Name VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, ManyMoreIrrelevantColumns VARCHAR(MAX) NOT NULL) CREATE TABLE Model (ModelId INT IDENTITY NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, ModelName VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, Description VARCHAR(200) NULL) CREATE TABLE ModelScore (ModelId INT NOT NULL REFERENCES Model (ModelId), Score INT NOT NULL, Definition VARCHAR(100) NULL, PRIMARY KEY (ModelId, Score)) CREATE TABLE PersonModelScore (PersonId INT NOT NULL REFERENCES Person (PersonId), ModelId INT NOT NULL, Score INT NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (PersonId, ModelId), FOREIGN KEY (ModelId, Score) REFERENCES ModelScore (ModelId, Score)) The idea here is that each Person may have only one ModelScore per Model, but each Person may have a score for any number of defined Models. As far as I can tell, this SQL should enforce these constraints naturally. The ModelScore has a particular "meaning," which is contained in the Definition. Nothing earth-shattering there. Now, I try translating this into Entity Framework using the designer. After updating the model from the database and doing some editing, I have a Person object, a Model object, and a ModelScore object. PersonModelScore, being a join table, is not an object but rather is included as an association with some other name (let's say ModelScorePersonAssociation). The mapping details for the association are as follows: - Association - Maps to PersonModelScore - ModelScore ModelId : Int32 <=> ModelId : int Score : Int32 <=> Score : int - Person PersonId : Int32 <=> PersonId : int On the right-hand side, the ModelId and PersonId values have primary key symbols, but the Score value does not. Upon compilation, I get: Error 3002: Problem in Mapping Fragment starting at line 5190: Potential runtime violation of table PersonModelScore's keys (PersonModelScore.ModelId, PersonModelScore.PersonId): Columns (PersonModelScore.PersonId, PersonModelScore.ModelId) are mapped to EntitySet ModelScorePersonAssociation's properties (ModelScorePersonAssociation.Person.PersonId, ModelScorePersonAssociation.ModelScore.ModelId) on the conceptual side but they do not form the EntitySet's key properties (ModelScorePersonAssociation.ModelScore.ModelId, ModelScorePersonAssociation.ModelScore.Score, ModelScorePersonAssociation.Person.PersonId).     I've installed CCNet and now I'm trying to set up a link to our repository. When I visit the CCNet dashboard website the project shows up ok, but when I click the Force button I receive this error in the messages column: Failing Tasks : FilteredSourceControl: CheckForModifications If I log into the server as the account which I've specified CCNet should use to connect to the repository, and do an Update on the project by hand (i.e. using SVN.exe or TortoiseSVN) the update works fine.     I have a WPF app that I'm deploying to a network path using ClickOnce deployment. After the app is deployed to a network location, I use the ClickOnce html page to launch the installation process. I am successfully able to download and install the app. However, my users are not able to download and install the app. When a user navigates to the ClickOnce html page and clicks to begin the installation process, the following error message is received: ERROR SUMMARY Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log. * Activation of http://software.mycompany.com/myapp/myapp.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected: + Downloading file://dev/webs/software/myapp/myapp.application did not succeed. * [4/5/2010 1:56:59 PM] System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDownloadException (Unknown subtype) - Downloading file://dev/Webs/software/myapp/myapp.application did not succeed. All signs point to this being a security issue. So, I've done the following: Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the files that were being deployed as part of my project Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the network location where the app was deployed (//dev/webs/software/myapp) Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the IIS path where the ClickOnce html page is located In each of these cases, I've made no progress in getting the app to successfully deploy via ClickOnce. Again, the odd thing is that I am able to successfully walk through the process of downloading and installing the app. It's my users, though, that need the ability to download and install the app. I've looked extensively on the web for answers, but there hasn't been much. However, the second we change it, we see the following error. Further investigation points out that this error is getting generated from a Theme related assembly (Source : App_Theme_Default.zclakrlo). Any ideas? One of my co-worker suggested that it might be skin file related since we have a theme call "Default" and there is no way to specify a language on a skin file. Therefore, when the asp.net runtime tries to compile it under C#, it will give a name collision? Does this make sense? Any help is appreciated.

Stepping through it with the Visual Studio Macros IDE, it fails the first time on the DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.StopOutlining") line with a COM error (Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component). If I attempt to run it a second time, I can run it from the Macro Editor with no issue, but not from within Visual Studio with the macro explorer 'run macro' command.     I just added the latest Version of JSON.Net and I get the System.Security.VerificationException: Operation could destabilize the runtime error when trying to use a controller (while running the application). I read in other posts that this issue should have been fixed in release 6 but I still have the problem. I even added *Newtonsoft.* to the ignore modules in the intellitrace options, which seems to have suppressed the error, but the post will just run forever and not return anything. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.   • IIS error hosting WCF Data Service on shared web host

    My client has a website hosted on a shared web server. I don't have access to IIS. I am trying to deploy a WCF Data Service onto his site. I am getting this error: IIS specified authentication schemes 'IntegratedWindowsAuthentication, Anonymous', but the binding only supports specification of exactly one authentication scheme. Valid authentication schemes are Digest, Negotiate, NTLM, Basic, or Anonymous. Change the IIS settings so that only a single authentication scheme is used. I have searched SO and other sites quite a bit but can't seem to find someone with my exact situation. I cannot change the IIS settings because this is a third party's server and it is a shared web server. So my only option is to change things in code or in the service config.   • Haystack / Whoosh Index Generation Error

    I'm trying to setup haystack with whoosh backend. When i try to gen the index [or any index command for that matter] i receive: TypeError: Item in ``from list'' not a string if i completely remove my search_indexes.py i get the same error [so i'm guessing it can't find that file at all] what might cause this error? it's set to autodiscover and i'm sure my app is installed because i'm currently using it. Of course I am root. when I go into the package to install using 'perl Makefile.pl' I get this dumb error: [root@csisl27 Lingua-Lid-0.01]# perl Makefile.PL /opt/ls//lib does not exist at Makefile.PL line 48. I have tried playing with the path on line 48, nothing changes, here is what line 48-50 looks like: Line 48: die "$BASE/lib does not exist" unless -d "$BASE/lib"; Line 49: die "$BASE/include does not exist" unless -d "$BASE/include"; Line 50: die "lid.h is missing in $BASE/include" unless -e "$BASE/includ/lid.h"; The variable $BASE is declared as this: $BASE = "/opt/ls/" if ($^O eq "linux" or $^O eq "solaris"); $BASE = "/usr/local/" if ($^O eq "freebsd"); $BASE = $ENV{LID_BASE_DIR} if (defined $ENV{LID_BASE_DIR}); Now the perl program I am trying to write simply look like this (just my base): #!/usr/bin/perl use Lingua::LinkParser; use strict; print "Hello world!\n"; When I run this trying to use Lingua, here is my error: [root@csisl27 assign4]# ./perl_parser_1.pl Can't locate Lingua/LinkParser.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at ./perl_parser_1.pl line 3. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./perl_parser_1.pl line 3. Tried insalling this from cpan, still doesn't properly work.
