  • Trick XP into having more RAM?

    Hi everyone, Are there any way known to trick an computer with XP to appear to have more RAM? I need to install a specific program (which fits in my system requirements), which is bundled with a number of other programs on an DVD. Unfortunately, the other programs besides the one that I need demand twice the amount of RAM that's available on my computer and the installation is closed due to this. Can I trick my XP computer into have more RAM temporarily to bypass the block in the install executable? Thanks

  • easiest way to automate all software installations for new users/computers?

    Basically, for every new user we have about 30 different installers that all need to be run manually after an install of windows which is tedious/time consuming. We can't simply ghost/image the computers as they come because of the wide variety of hardware being used (all laptops). What would you suggest to run through all the installers automatically without requiring me to sit and click 'next'.. 'next'.. 'continue'.. 'no dont install msn toolbar please'?

    Just got a CanonMF5880dn and cannot print to it from Suse 11.1 MacBook prints w/o issue ping 192.168.1.103 no problem cups sees it as Canon MF5880/MF5840 PCL at URI socket://192.168.1.103:9100 cups test print appears to submit and complete job but no action from printer Yast also seems to install printer correctly CQue2 also seems to install printer correctly all attempts to print yield same results: Suse indicates job processed correctly and completely but no printing happens. firewall is off http://192.168.1.103 in FF gives me the printer config menus correctly What have I failed to do?

  • Find the php script thats sending mails

    Hi, Is there any way for me to find the php script that is sending emails. I have apache+php ( no mod_suphp neither suexec ) in a "standard" install, and i want to find out witch php script is sending emails, when i check the logs i just see the uid of the user that's sending the emails ( in my case apache ) but i want to find out the script that's originated the email. Is it possible or i must install suexec or mod_suphp to keep trac of that ? Thks for the help.

But i don't know where is Git/Ungit DocumentRoot to define on virtualhost 80. I've tried to search folder which's name git or ungit but it seems not really exactly.     I am trying to install a dummy sound card on a Windows Server machine (in Amazon EC2 cloud) in order for one of my application to work. I'm trying to accomplish that with Virtual Audio Cable and REAUDIO3. Both tools managed to install a new device on my Windows XP machine, but on Windows Server, no new devices appear. Windows Audio and Plug and Play services are Started and Automatic. ANY ideas are greatly appreciated.

    Is it possible to install 2 linux distros into 1 root, so they share same uuid and guid, configs and packages + same user /home folder ? For example: I have Ubuntu and Windows 7 already in dual boot on my laptop. Could I install Arch's base, base-devel and kernel, so it won't conflict with Ubuntu on the same root folder? P.S I don't feel like repartitioning my drive again, 'cause there's very complicated hierarchy, which occupies the entire disk. =)

    I just got a new desktop PC and was trying to install Windows 7 on it. Unfortunately I don't have a DVD drive in my laptop to burn a DVD image of Windows installation DVD, so I made a installation USB flash drive. Installation started as normal, but after clicking "Install now" I got a message that Windows can't find CD/DVD drivers and installation can't proceed. I wonder what drivers could it be missing. I'm running Boxee on a Mac Mini, and I make heavy use of the Netflix app. However, when I start watching a Netflix movie or TV show, Silverlight often tells me "There is an update to Silverlight available, do you want to install it?" I have to start up Screen Sharing or plug in a mouse to click "OK" and continue. I'd rather just update Silverlight automatically without user interaction.

  • Uninstalling a program which uninstaller doesn't work

    I recently accidentally deleted my appdata folder, so 50% of the programs went mad, including Aptana Studio. When I looked for the uninstaller, I started it, and the "Uninstall from here:" field was empty. I clicked uninstall anyway, but it did nothing. So basically now I can't uninstall it and make a fresh install. I can't delete the files manually because the settings will stay, and the fresh install will be loading them and not working either.

    I am working with Ubuntu latest version. While installing via apt-get install i tried to abort that by pressing Ctrl+Z. It terminate successfully ;). But next time when i tried to use apt-get, i got some error "lock" and "temporally unavailable" something like that and **I unfortunately i delete the /var/lib/dkpg folder.** after that i cant install anything from apt-get, getting an error.
