  • How to check font-size in IE6+

    Hi All, I am wondering is there any way we can test the font size/color of a webpage in IE6+. I think it is not possible by checking the css class, as some other style may overwrite the styles of the class which has been assinged to that text. Actually I want to know the browser assigned font-size to the text of the page, as we can do it in firebug on firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

  • In what situations does Flash SWF misbehaves in different browsers.

    Hi, Recently I had some issues with Flash in IE, involving a SWF which is something like a gallery. In Firefox its loads perfectly, but in IE it doesn't work properly sometimes. The first time it is loaded its works fine but when I refresh all the images are blank. The image data came from XML. I wish to get some tips regarding the browsers and Flash / SWF behavior in each. Meaning that Mac or Linux users cannot run Silverlight. I will be making the application using the .NET framework 3.5. Will this application run in any web browser, or just major ones like Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari?

  • Exchange 2010: Import a PST when Local Move Request fails

    So the trail of tears continues with my SBS 2003 to 2011 migration: all the mailboxes have moved mailbox store from OLDSERVER to NEWSERVER, with the Local Move Requests completing successfully, except for one. I've logged into their machine and have exported their mailbox as a PST. I'm about to import it, but it seems to me that because the mailbox is still on OLDSERVER, even with a new Outlook profile pointing to NEWSERVER in Outlook, it'll push the mail into the current mailbox store on the old server. Please tell me I don't have to blow away her existing mailbox, logon, etc. on the old SBSERVER: is there a way to change the state from "Legacy" to "User Mailbox" without actually moving the mailbox store? Create a new mailbox for her user in NEWSERVER?

  • Rails 3 and encrypted cookies with IE9

    I am using encrypted cookies to pass data to my rails app. Once these cookies get set, they are being passed just fine to Chrome, Firefox, Safari (iOS and OSX version), etc. However, the cookie isn't being passed back on Win7/IE9. I'm using Ruby 1.9 and Rails 3, and using the cookies.permanent.encrypted method of setting the cookie. E.g: cookies.permanent.encrypted[:some_data] = object.some_data Any ideas about what's going on?

  • How do I stop Opera from caching a page?

    I am trying to get Opera to re-request a page every time instead of just serving it from the cache. I'm sending the 'Cache-control=no-cache' and 'Pragma: no-cache' response headers but it seems as if Opera is just ignoring these headers. It works fine in other browsers - Chrome, IE, Firefox. How do I stop Opera from caching pages? What I want to be able to do is have Opera re-request a page when the user clicks the Back button on the browser.

    I need to install the dumbest possible service (a binary) and have it reliably run as the current user at boot (or login, whatever) at as many platforms as possible (of the aging point-of-sale type). The app monitors another archives generated by another app in the user-session. Startup alternatives considered: init.d @reboot in crontab a .desktop file in ~/.config/autostart a myriad of other solutions including .profile and .bashrc All of the above break down at some point. The problems stem from not wanting to run as root (I want the files generated to be user-accessible), and not having a way to reliably get the current user name in sudo on all platforms. Ideally not even sudo can be assumed available. Hey, I just want to run something on boot and I have "root" power to do so. Windows get the job done easily enough. This isn't rocket science, is it?

    I'm using : $(window).scroll(function () { if ($(window).scrollTop() + 10 >= ($(document).height() - $(window).height())) { loadContent(); } } It works fine with Chrome, IE, Firefox but except in Safari. In function loadContent, I used JSON to load data, as this tutorial. But while I test in Safari, It takes the content twice from JSON. If the other takes 9 items, then Safari takes 18 items. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

The div has a image background in CSS, it works fine on Firefox and Safari, but when i test it on IE the background is being removed.     I have a form on my website. When this form is filled out, it is then validated by a javascript validation function. At the bottom of this function I have this piece of code: window.location="../index.html"; This wont work on Chrome, but does work in Firefox.
