  • firefox sync not working. tried everything I could think of.

    I had to format my computer once again. But this time when trying to get all my firefox data from the sync server, nothing happened :( I've tried updating firefox. reconnecting to the sync server a couple of times. But as the title says, nothing has happened. I fear that somehow all my data has been whiped, but I have no clue why it should have done that. I think my old FF was running v4b7, but I can't say for sure. Please help! I also tried posting on the firefox forums. But I must say they don't work very well. It doesn't seem like my question even have been posted.

  • jqGrid local date manipulation; problem with row ids when deleting and adding new rows

    I'm using jqGrid as a client side grid input, allowing the user to input multiple records before POSTing all the data back at once. I'm having a problem where if the user has added a few records (say 3 ) the id's for the records will be 1,2,3. if the user deletes record 2, you're left with 1 and 3 for the id of the records. When the user now adds a new records, jqGrid assigns that records the id 3 again since it just seems to count the total records and increments it by one for the new record. This causes problems when selecting rows as now the row id's are 1, 3 and 3. Does anyone know how to access the row ids of records as I could probably use the afterSubmit event and reassign the row id's increasing from 1. ( so after i delete row id 2, this will set the other row id's to 1 and 2) Any other suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks

  • Is there a good extension for working with SVN in Emacs?

    I've tried psvn.el, but the command to diff the file you're currently looking at is just hideous: M-x svn-file-show-svn-diff. I tried installing vc-svn.el, but couldn't get that working on my version of Emacs: GNU Emacs 21.3.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600) of 2004-03-10 on NYAUMO. I've tried putting a copy of vc-snv.el in my site-lisp dir, but when I try to run the command "M-x vc-diff" it says my file "is not under version control". The emacs wiki page, which mainly focuses on vc-svn.el, seems to be horribly out of date, as many of the links do not work.

  • How to get debugging of an App Engine application working?

    I've got 10+ years in C/C++, and it appears Visual Studio has spoilt me during that time. In Visual Studio, debbuging issimple: I just add a breakpoint to a line of code, and as soon as that code is executed, my breakpoint triggers, at which point I can view a callstack, local/member variables, etc. I'm trying to achieve this functionality under App Engine. I assume that is possible? All the searching I've done to this point has led me to using Pydev in Eclipse. As best I can tell, I am successfully launching my simple 'hello world' program in Debug mode. But the IDE doesn't even seem to have an option to set a breakpoint? I must be missing something. I've googled long and hard about this, but am having no luck. Most results trace back to the same old threads that don't deal directly with my issue. Can anyone shed some light on how you get basic debugging setup using Pydev/Eclipse with App Engine? Alternatively, if there's an easier way to debug App Engine than using Pydev/Eclipse, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks in advance.

    I'm trying to write a simple tool for monitoring the state of a Queue Manager. One of the things I'd like to monitor is the current queue depth of each queue. I haven't been able to find a way to programmatically enumerate all of the queues on a particular Queue Manager, though. Do any of the MQ APIs provide this functionality? I'd prefer to do this with C, but if it's only possible with another language's bindings, I'd at least like to know that.

  • How can I troubleshoot Virtualbox port forwarding from Windows guest to OSX host not working?

    There are a plethora of questions about virtual box port forwarding problems but none with my specific details. I have a Windows install living in Virtual Box, hosted within OSX. I've got several webservers running on localhost on different ports within the Windows install. I cannot for the life of me get port forwarding to work so I can access those webservers from OSX.   • Using a "local" S3 emulation layer as a replacement for HDFS?

    I have been testing out the most recent Cloudera CDH4 hadoop-conf-pseudo (i.e. MRv2 or YARN) on a notebook, which has 4 cores, 8GB RAM, an Intel X25MG2 SSD, and runs a S3 emulation layer my colleagues and I wrote in C++. The OS is Ubuntu 12.04LTS 64bit. So far so good. Looking at Setting up hadoop to use S3 as a replacement for HDFS, I would like to do it on my notebook. Nevertheless, I can't find where I can change the jets3t.properties for setting the end point to localhost. I downloaded the hadoop-2.0.1-alpha.tar.gz and searched the source without finding out a clue. There is a similar Q on SO Using s3 as fs.default.name or HDFS?, but I want to use our own lightweight and fast S3 emulation layer, instead of AWS S3, for our experiments. I would appreciate a hint as to how I can change the end point to a different hostname. Regards, --Zack

  • jQuery fading in an element - not working exactly as i want it to...

    Anybody see what's wrong? Doesn't seem to do anything. If i replace $(this, '.inner').stop(true, false).fadeIn(250); with $(.fadeInOnHover .inner').stop(true, false).fadeIn(250); then all the .inner elements on the page will fade in (which isn't really what i want, as i have ~10 of them). I know it's possible to achieve what i want to do, but i don't know how in this case.   • Fail2Ban adds iptable rules but they are not working?

    Fail2Ban just blocked my IP for 3 SSH attempts. It added the iptables rule and I can see it using the "sudo iptables -L -n" command. But I can still access the site and login through SSH! What might be the problem? Is it because im using CloudFlare? I have set Nginx to write the real IPs to the access logs instead of the Cloud Flare IP. Isn't it enough?     Here is the setup: Router Windows XP 32-bit Windows 7 64-bit The XP machine has a Lexmark printer physically attached. I have installed the x64 drivers for the printer installed in Windows 7. When I try to print to the printer on the Windows 7 machine, it doesn't work - I get an error: Windows cannot connect to the printer. Error 0x0000000d I have made sure UDP/TCP ports 135-139 are unblocked on the Windows 7 machine.

After upgrading to 10.04 I noticed it had overwritten all my modifications, so I recovered the layout and overwrote the symbol file's base entry. Sadly KDE (and, presumably, the entire OS) seems to ignore the files altogether. The help files don't mention anything about modifying layouts anyway (and the layout switcher seems to be using setxkbmap, which uses the above path according to its man page), so I'm at a bit of a loss. Do I need to compile this into some other format somehow or how do I get it to work?
