  • Vertical Image Border Changes Alignment when Screen is not maximized

    - by Randy
I have some pretty straightforward HTML code with a few tables to organize various items of text or images. All works fine except that I need to place a vertical border on both the left and right sides of the screen. I am able to do this with a 2x2 pixel image that I stretch out. When the user has their screen maximized, everything looks great. But when the user hits "Restore Down", then the borders stay in place, but the tables get shoved down so that they start below where the borders end, which is off screen. in other words, the relational alignment between the borders and the tables gets all screwed up. Does anybody know how to make this alignment stay consistent on a restore down? I'm pretty much a newbie with html and asp, so speak slowly. If there is a better method to accomplish this, I'm all ears. Thanks. Here is the relevant section of code: <%@ Master Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="MasterPage.master.cs" Inherits="MasterPage" % <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:Image ID="LeftBorder" src="../Images/Border_Blue.jpg" runat="server" WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="1000" BORDER="0" alt="Image Missing" align="left"/> <asp:Image ID="RightBorder" src="../Images/Border_Blue.jpg" runat="server" WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="1000" BORDER="0" alt="Image Missing" align="right" /> <table id="BannerTable" style="height: 100px"> <tr> <td width="934px"> <img src="../Images/Header.jpg" alt="Image Missing" id="ImgBanner" align="left"/></td> </tr> </table>

  • How to have current page selection using inludes navigation

    - by Anders Kitson
I am using php includes to limit redundancy on my pages, how can I have my navigation have the current page selected with say a certain color for the HOME button when my navigation is called from a header.php file. If i were to say to add a "active" class to the home.php item and add a style so it looked different, that would happen across the board for all my pages, which is why I am using includes in the first place, how can I have one header.php file with my navigation, that also allows each page the ability to show the current page you are on reflected in the navigation? This is the nav portion of the header.php file <ul> <li><a href="index.php">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="portfolio.php">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="news.php">News</a></li> <li><a href="contact.php">Contact</a></li> </ul> This is the index.php file that the header.php file is included in <?php include("includes/header.php"); ?> <div class="span-8" id="welcome"> <p>Lorem ipsum</p> </div> <div class="span-16 last" id="slideshow"> <img src="images/introImage1.png" alt="fountain"> <img src="images/introImage2.png" alt="bench"> <img src="images/introImage3.png" alt="bridge"> </div> <?php include("includes/footer.php"); ?>

  • W3 xHTML Validation Errors on jQuery code!

    - by Chris
I have some jQuery code that, without it in the document it passes validation fine, but with it in it causes errors. The code in question is here: $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "data.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { //Update error info errors = $(xml).find("Errors").find("*").filter(function () { return $(this).children().length === 0; }); if (errors.length == 0) { statuscontent = "<img src='/web/resources/graphics/accept.png' alt='' /> System OK"; } else { statuscontent = "<img src='/web/resources/graphics/exclamation.png' alt='' /> "+errors.length+" System error"+(errors.length>1?"s":""); } $("#top-bar-systemstatus a").html(statuscontent); //Update timestamp $("#top-bar-timestamp").html($(xml).find("Timestamp").text()); //Update storename $("#top-bar-storename").html("Store: "+$(xml).find("StoreName").text()); } }); There are loads of other jQuery code on the page which all works fine and causes no errors so I cannot quite understand what is wrong with this. The page isn't "live" so cannot provide a link to it unfortunately. The error it lists is document type does not allow element "img" here And the line of code it points to is here: statuscontent = "<img src='/web/resources/graphics/accept.png' alt='' /> System OK"; It also has an issue with the next assignment to statuscontent

  • How do I get rid of the space between <img> elements in a row in a html page?

    - by Aperture
I'm displaying 3 <img> in a row like this: <div style="width: 950px"> <img src='/UploadedImages/86.jpg' alt='' style="width: 300px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 1px solid Black" /> <img src='/UploadedImages/85.jpg' alt='' style="width: 300px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 1px solid Black" /> <img src='/UploadedImages/84.gif' alt='' style="width: 300px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 1px solid Black" /> </div> As you can see I have thin black borders around the images. My problem is that there are white spaces about 5px wide between the borders of neighbouring images and I have set the margin to be 0px but it does not work. So what is happening here?

  • PHP & WP: Render Certain Markup Based on True False Condition

    - by rob
So, I'm working on a site where on the top of certain pages I'd like to display a static graphic and on some pages I would like to display an scrolling banner. So far I set up the condition as follows: <?php $regBanner = true; $regBannerURL = get_bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); //grabbing WP site URL ?> and in my markup: <div id="banner"> <?php if ($regBanner) { echo "<img src='" . $regBannerURL . "/style/images/main_site/home_page/mock_banner.jpg' />"; } else { echo 'Slider!'; } ?> </div><!-- end banner --> In my else statement, where I'm echoing 'Slider!' I would like to output the markup for my slider: <div id="slider"> <img src="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory') ?>/style/images/main_site/banners/services_banners/1.jpg" alt="" /> <img src="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory') ?>/style/images/main_site/banners/services_banners/2.jpg" alt="" /> <img src="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory') ?>/style/images/main_site/banners/services_banners/3.jpg" alt="" /> ............. </div> My question is how can I throw the div and all those images into my else echo statement? I'm having trouble escaping the quotes and my slider markup isn't rendering.

  • alter prettyphoto to pull from div or span, not title

    Here's the section of code from prettyphoto.js that I need to alter. What I am trying to achieve is have each photo have a following hidden div or span that holds the description for the photo. This way I can include html in the description. Possible? Thanks! var images = new Array(), titles = new Array(), descriptions = new Array(); if(theGallery){ $('a[rel*='+theGallery+']').each(function(i){ if($(this)[0] === $(_self)[0]) setPosition = i; // Get the position in the set images.push($(this).attr('href')); titles.push($(this).find('img').attr('alt')); descriptions.push($(this).attr('title')); }); }else{ images = $(this).attr('href'); titles = ($(this).find('img').attr('alt')) ? $(this).find('img').attr('alt') : ''; descriptions = ($(this).attr('title')) ? $(this).attr('title') : ''; } $.prettyPhoto.open(images,titles,descriptions); return false; });

  • Cakephp 1.3, Weird behavior on firefox when using $this->Html->link ...

    - by ion
Greetings, I am getting a very weird and unpredictable result in firefox when using the following syntax: $this->Html->link($this->Html->div('p-cpt',$project['Project']['name']) . $this->Html->div('p-img',$this->Html->image('/img/projects/'.$project['Project']['slug'].'/project.thumb.jpg', array('alt'=>$project['Project']['name'],'width'=>100,'height'=>380))),array('controller' => 'projects', 'action' => 'view', $project['Project']['slug']),array('title' => $project['Project']['name'], 'escape' => false),false); OK I know it is big but bear with me. The point is to get the following output: <a href="x" title="x"> <div class="p-ctp">Name</div> <div class="p-img"><img src="z width="y" height="a" alt="d" /></div> </a> I'm not sure if this validates correctly both on cakephp and html but it works everywhere else apart from firefox. You can actually see the result here: http://www.gnomonconstructions.com/projects/browser To reproduce the result use the form with different categories and press search. At some point it will happen!! Although most of the time it renders the way it should, sometimes it produces an invalid output like that: <a href="x" title="x"></a> <div class="p-cpt"> <a href="x" title="x">name</a> </div> <div class="p-img"> <a href="x" title="x"><img src="x" width="x" height="x" alt="x" /></a> </div> Looks like it repeats the link inside each element. To be honest the only reason I used this syntax was because cakephp encourages it. Any help will be much appreciated :)

  • Simple jQuery syntax help, don't know where I've gone wrong

    - by Jascination
I'm having trouble with a jQuery code at the moment, I know WHERE the problem lies, but I don't know what the problem is exactly. Probably very basic, but I'm new to this. You can see a (non)working fiddle here: http://www.jsfiddle.net/CvZeQ/ Basically I want to set different .click function based on whatever is selected (I have 5 image maps, each with a different #mapname, and want each to pertain to a different variable (answer1, answer2, answer3...) so as to store the selected 'answer' for each map.) Here is the code I'm using for one of the maps: $(window).load(function(){ //Get cookies when page loaded var useranswers=$.cookie('survery'); useranswers= JSON.parse (useranswers); // do something with previous answers //#shape functions $('#shape area').hover( function(e){ $('#'+ this.alt).addClass('hover'); }, function(e){ $('#'+ this.alt).removeClass('hover'); } ).click( function(e){ $('img.selected-region').removeClass('selected-region'); }, function(e){ $('#'+ this.alt).addClass('selected-region'); }, function(e){ var answer1 = $(this).attr("class"); }); }); I know the problem lies somewhere with the .click function, but I'm not entirely sure what I've done wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • matching images inside a link in regex

    - by user225269
    What is wrong with regex pattern that I created: $link_image_pattern = '/\<a\shref="([^"]*)"\>\<img\s.+\><\/a\>/'; preg_match_all($link_image_pattern, $str, $link_images); What I'm trying to do is to match all the links which has images inside of them. But when I try to output $link_images it contains everything inside the first index: <pre> <?php print_r($link_images); ?> </pre> The markup looks something like this: Array ( [0] = Array ([0] = " <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><a href="url">Title</a></strong></p> <p>Desc</p> <p><a href="{$image_url2}"><img style="background-image:none;padding-left:0;padding-right:0;display:inline;padding-top:0;border-width:0;" title="image" border="0" alt="image" src="{$image_url2}" width="569" height="409"></a></p> But when outputting the contents of the matches, it simply returns the first string that matches the pattern plus all the other markup in the page like this: <a href="{$image_url}"><img style="background-image:none;padding-left:0;padding-right:0;display:inline;padding-top:0;border-width:0;" title="image" border="0" alt="image" src="{$image_url}" width="568" height="347"></a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><a href="url">Title</a></strong></p> <p>Desc</p> <p><a href="{$image_url2}"><img style="background-image:none;padding-left:0;padding-right:0;display:inline;padding-top:0;border-width:0;" title="image" border="0" alt="image" src="{$image_url2}" width="569" height="409"></a></p>")

However, if they make more than one change to the same element, I first want to see if there is already a caution image there before sending a new one. Any theories/methods on how to just scope out the next (but not $.next()) element?

This post attempts to highlight some of the best practices along with dos & don’ts that our practice has accumulated over the years in the identity & access management space in general, and also in the context of R2, in particular. Best Practices The following section illustrates the leading practices in “How” to plan, implement and sustain a successful OIM deployment, based on our collective experience. Planning is critical, but often overlooked A common approach to planning an IAM program that we identify with our clients is the three step process involving a current state assessment, a future state roadmap and an executable strategy to get there. It is extremely beneficial for clients to assess their current IAM state, perform gap analysis, document the recommended controls to address the gaps, align future state roadmap to business initiatives and get buy in from all stakeholders involved to improve the chances of success. When designing an enterprise-wide solution, the scalability of the technology must accommodate the future growth of the enterprise and the projected identity transactions over several years. Aligning the implementation schedule of OIM to related information technology projects increases the chances of success. As a baseline, it is recommended to match hardware specifications to the sizing guide for R2 published by Oracle. Adherence to this will help ensure that the hardware used to support OIM will not become a bottleneck as the adoption of new services increases. If your Organization has numerous connected applications that rely on reconciliation to synchronize the access data into OIM, consider hosting dedicated instances to handle reconciliation. Finally, ensure the use of clustered environment for development and have at least three total environments to help facilitate a controlled migration to production. If your Organization is planning to implement role based access control, we recommend performing a role mining exercise and consolidate your enterprise roles to keep them manageable. In addition, many Organizations have multiple approval flows to control access to critical roles, applications and entitlements. If your Organization falls into this category, we highly recommend that you limit the number of approval workflows to a small set. Most Organizations have operations managed across data centers with backend database synchronization, if your Organization falls into this category, ensure that the overall latency between the datacenters when replicating the databases is less than ten milliseconds to ensure that there are no front office performance impacts. Ingredients for a successful implementation During the development phase of your project, there are a number of guidelines that can be followed to help increase the chances for success. Most implementations cannot be completed without the use of customizations. If your implementation requires this, it’s a good practice to perform code reviews to help ensure quality and reduce code bottlenecks related to performance. We have observed at our clients that the development process works best when team members adhere to coding leading practices. Plan for time to correct coding defects and ensure developers are empowered to report their own bugs for maximum transparency. Many organizations struggle with defining a consistent approach to managing logs. This is particularly important due to the amount of information that can be logged by OIM. We recommend Oracle Diagnostics Logging (ODL) as an alternative to be used for logging. ODL allows log files to be formatted in XML for easy parsing and does not require a server restart when the log levels are changed during troubleshooting. Testing is a vital part of any large project, and an OIM R2 implementation is no exception. We suggest that at least one lower environment should use production-like data and connectors. Configurations should match as closely as possible. For example, use secure channels between OIM and target platforms in pre-production environments to test the configurations, the migration processes of certificates, and the additional overhead that encryption could impose. Finally, we ask our clients to perform database backups regularly and before any major change event, such as a patch or migration between environments. In the lowest environments, we recommend to have at least a weekly backup in order to prevent significant loss of time and effort. Similarly, if your organization is using virtual machines for one or more of the environments, it is recommended to take frequent snapshots so that rollbacks can occur in the event of improper configuration. Operate & sustain the solution to derive maximum benefits When migrating OIM R2 to production, it is important to perform certain activities that will help achieve a smoother transition. At our clients, we have seen that splitting the OIM tables into their own tablespaces by categories (physical tables, indexes, etc.) can help manage database growth effectively. If we notice that a client hasn’t enabled the Oracle-recommended indexing in the applicable database, we strongly suggest doing so to improve performance. Additionally, we work with our clients to make sure that the audit level is set to fit the organization’s auditing needs and sometimes even allocate UPA tables and indexes into their own table-space for better maintenance. Finally, many of our clients have set up schedules for reconciliation tables to be archived at regular intervals in order to keep the size of the database(s) reasonable and result in optimal database performance. For our clients that anticipate availability issues with target applications, we strongly encourage the use of the offline provisioning capabilities of OIM R2. This reduces the provisioning process for a given target application dependency on target availability and help avoid broken workflows. To account for this and other abnormalities, we also advocate that OIM’s monitoring controls be configured to alert administrators on any abnormal situations. Within OIM R2, we have begun advising our clients to utilize the ‘profile’ feature to encapsulate multiple commonly requested accounts, roles, and/or entitlements into a single item. By setting up a number of profiles that can be searched for and used, users will spend less time performing the same exact steps for common tasks. We advise our clients to follow the Oracle recommended guides for database and application server tuning which provides a good baseline configuration. It offers guidance on database connection pools, connection timeouts, user interface threads and proper handling of adapters/plug-ins. All of these can be important configurations that will allow faster provisioning and web page response times. Many of our clients have begun to recognize the value of data mining and a remediation process during the initial phases of an implementation (to help ensure high quality data gets loaded) and beyond (to support ongoing maintenance and business-as-usual processes). A successful program always begins with identifying the data elements and assigning a classification level based on criticality, risk, and availability. It should finish by following through with a remediation process. Dos & Don’ts Here are the most common dos and don'ts that we socialize with our clients, derived from our experience implementing the solution. Dos Don’ts Scope the project into phases with realistic goals. Look for quick wins to show success and value to the stake holders. Avoid “boiling the ocean” and trying to integrate all enterprise applications in the first phase. Establish an enterprise ID (universal unique ID across the enterprise) earlier in the program. Avoid major UI customizations that require code changes. Have a plan in place to patch during the project, which helps alleviate any major issues or roadblocks (product and database). Avoid publishing all the target entitlements if you don't anticipate their usage during access request. Assess your current state and prepare a roadmap to address your operations, tactical and strategic goals, align it with your business priorities. Avoid integrating non-production environments with your production target systems. Defer complex integrations to the later phases and take advantage of lessons learned from previous phases Avoid creating multiple accounts for the same user on the same system, if there is an opportunity to do so. Have an identity and access data quality initiative built into your plan to identify and remediate data related issues early on. Avoid creating complex approval workflows that would negative impact productivity and SLAs. Identify the owner of the identity systems with fair IdM knowledge and empower them with authority to make product related decisions. This will help ensure overcome any design hurdles. Avoid creating complex designs that are not sustainable long term and would need major overhaul during upgrades. Shadow your internal or external consulting resources during the implementation to build the necessary product skills needed to operate and sustain the solution. Avoid treating IAM as a point solution and have appropriate level of communication and training plan for the IT and business users alike. Conclusion In our experience, Identity programs will struggle with scope, proper resourcing, and more. We suggest that companies consider the suggestions discussed in this post and leverage them to help enable their identity and access program. • Disable Windows Key Hotkeys when using Virtualbox

    - by statenjason
I'm currently running a VirtualBox of Arch Linux with Windows 7 x64 as the host. In Arch, I use dwm for window management. As dwm is heavily dependent on hotkeys, I've used the ALT key as its META key to prevent conflict with the Windows 7 host. However, when using emacs (also heavy hotkey usage) within dwm, there are issues because it's also using ALT for its own META. I'd like to change either dwm or emacs to use the windows key as META, but commands such as Win+L will be captured by the host machine and lock my system. Is there any way to prevent these hotkeys from being triggered while within VirtualBox?

  • How could two processes bind onto the same port?

    - by Matt Ball
I just ran into an issue where a request made to localhost:8080 from curl was hitting a different server than the same request made from inside Node. lsof -i :8080 revealed that two processes were both binding onto the same port: COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME node 51961 mball 14u IPv4 0xd980e0df7f175e13 0t0 TCP *:http-alt (LISTEN) java 62704 mball 320u IPv6 0xd980e0df7fe08643 0t0 TCP *:http-alt (LISTEN) How is this possible? Were they binding onto different interfaces? Or was it the IPv4 vs 6? If you're curious, node was hitting the other node process, curl was hitting the java process. The java process was started after the node process.

  • Copy and Paste without needing to use the Mouse

    - by Paul Farry
In previous versions of windows when your were Copying Files (Ctrl-C) then alt-Tab (to the appropriate window) and Pasting (Ctrl-V) using the Keyboard everything could be driven by the keyboard. With Vista and 7, it seems if you are copying and pasting (and the files exist) in the Destination Location you have to Click the Copy and Replace, there doesn't seem to be a way to do it... "Do this for the next {n} Conflicts" can be driven by Alt-D, but the "Copy and Replace" and "Don't Copy" are not. Or is there and have I just missed something? I'm more than happy to change registry or something to enable Keyboard shortcuts for this.

  • Function keys on Dell laptop work double as OEM keys

    - by Factor Mystic
I'm working with a new Dell Studio 1555, and the F1-F12 keys at the top of the keyboard are dual function with OEM keys such as volume and screen brightness. The problem is, is that the OEM keys are the default, and you have to press the Fn key to get the F- key to work. For example, this means you have to hit Alt+Fn+F4 to close a window, instead of the regular Alt+F4. This is really annoying. Is there a way to reverse the default functions of the F- keys in Windows? Ideally this is possible without some kind of third party hotkey manager.
