• ASP.NET MaskedEditExtender issue

  I have asp.net textbox with MaskedEditExtender. • Flex Error #1014: Class flash.net::NetStreamPlayOptions

  I have a pure ActionScript project. I'm using Flex Builder on a Mac, Flex SDK 3.4 and I've even added the playerglobal.swc from the Flash folder to the project's library path. I get autocomplete when I add import flash.net.NetStreamPlayOptions; import flash.net.NetStreamPlayTransitions; But when I run the movie, I get: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.net::NetStreamPlayOptions could not be found. I don't get it.. What must I do to use those classes?

• Neither IE or Firefox respects the control values that are output

  I'm writing a survey designer asp.net mvc. It has buttons to move questions up and down. The buttons post the whole form back and the affected questions are swapped on the server. When the form returns the only thing that is changed are the values for each survey question. Both firefox and IE seem to ignore this change. Nothing is persisted to the database (until save) and url doesn't change so the post just returns the same view but I've stepped through my code to ensure the sequence of values being rendered in the view reflects the swap which is ok. However "view - source" doesn't show the change suggesting caching issue (maybe auto complete). I've tried autocomplete="off" in my form. Response.Cache.SetNoStore(); in my global.asax [System.Web.Mvc.OutputCache(NoStore = true, Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "*")] before my controller and the following in my page header NOTHING!!! This must be real common. Anyone got a clue?

  I am using the free Kendo UI Core Framework. I am looking for a searchable Combobox that fires the sql after inserting, for example, 2 letters. Behind my Listbox there are more than 10000 items and now it takes too much time when I load or refresh the page. Is it possible to trigger the sql query only by user input like the autocomplete widget do? • Getting PDT code completion to recognise runtime return types from base class?

  Hi guys, I've got an abstract base class: abstract class BaseClass { /** * @return CLASSNAME */ public function fluent() { // do stuff return $this; } } Generally, i would put BaseClass where CLASSNAME is and all would be fine, PDT would pick up the phpdoc return type and happily autocomplete. Until, that is, I subclass BaseClass and add additional methods, and code compete on an instance of the derived class. PDT will only recognise the methods from BaseClass and not those from the derived class. What I need is something like @return self or @return this. Does PDT have such functionality? Or is there an alternate trick without having to declare these methods in every derived class?

  Hi everyone... i have a webservice that i want to test by typing the url in the address bar in the web browser localhost:1981/myProject/admin/autocomplete.asmx and when i do this it gives this compilation error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Oledb' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Data' (are you missing an assembly reference?) i know this is because we added this in our web.config <add namespace="System.Data.Oledb"/> <add namespace ="System.Data"/> in the namespaces section..... when i call this web service through ajax it works but if i try to test it it gives this error. Is there any way to prevent this?

  I have a GWT app with a bunch of textboxes. In firefox I would expect that when I type a word in a textbox that I have already typed in and submitted, that firefox would offer to autocomplete that text. But for this GWT app it is not happening. Also in IE it seems that none of my css stuff is loaded. And when I IE developer tools on my GWT page, it can focus in on any of the textboxes it just focuses on the encompassing DIV around all the textboxes.

  I'm not able to get intellisense to work with javascript/jquery code in vs10. Not even getting highlighted opening/closing bracket and parens, much less autocomplete. In VS08 we had to install a patch to get intellisense for jquery. VS10 doesn't need that patch to support -vsdoc files. There was a bug in 08's intellisense that, if any of a project's included .js files had an error, we'd lose intellisense for javascript. That was supposed to be fixed in vs10. What the current set of troubleshooting steps to enable intellisense for VS10? thx

• Rails Asset Caching Breaks First few page loads

  We're using Rails asset caching for JS and CSS like this: <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults, 'autocomplete', 'searchbox', 'jqmodal', :cache => set_asset_cache(:admins) %> In our deploy we call rake tmp:assets:clear each time. The problem is that the first few page loads after a deploy come up with no css on the page. I guess until the cached all.js and all.css have been regenerated. We deploy many times per day and this is scary for any users who happen to come across a busted page. Have people found any way to make this smoother so the new cached assets are guaranteed to be there on the first new page load?

• Powershell 4 compatibility with Windows 2008 r2

  In my environment I have a single server that has access to pretty much my entire network. That server is running Windows 2008 r2, and I have upgraded Powershell to version 4.0. The question I have is this... Can I run cmdlets from that machine on other machines that are version 4 specific? For instance, when I am using Powershell, even though it is version 4, it doesn't give me an intellisense autocomplete for "Get-Volume" like it would on a 2012 r2 machine. I understand that it won't run on that machine because the infrastructure won't allow for it, but what about a 2012 r2 machine remotely? I am looking to run batch scripts from there for various purposes.

• How can one close html tags in vim quickly

  It's been a while since I've had to do any html-like code in vim, but recently I came across this again. Say I'm doing a simple bit of a html page: <html><head><title>This is a title</title></head></html> How do I write those closing tags for title, head and html down quickly? I feel like I'm missing some really simple way here that does not involve me going through writing them all down one by one. Of course I can use ^P to autocomplete the individual tag names but what gets me on my laptop keyboard is actually getting the brackets and slash right.

• Advanced search functionality

  I have a website with a jQuery based autocomplete search functionality which works great. Currently though I have just one search box for all categories, what I want is for someone to be able to type in, say for example, dorian gray dvd (in any order) which will search for dorian gray within the dvd category. What this will require then is a bit of magic on the server side to figure out if any of the words are category keywords, and then limit the search by that. What is the best (and quickest) way to do this in PHP / MySQL? I currently have a few trains of thought Search the category table for matches and perhaps order the results by that. Or split up the search terms into an array and separately search the categories for that for a match. Another thought I just had is to concat the category title to the dvd title in the database and match against that, or something similar... but this sounds computationally expensive? Any advice?

  Hi guys! -- I am working on a (auto) tag suggestion system (NOT tag autocomplete). Lets say I want to suggest tags for a given question like here on SO (although SO's tagging system is auto-complete). My main idea is to get the intersection between the tags_set and the given question.split()_set. (In python the set_intersection is efficient enough). Also, in order to make it a little bit more accurate I might use words-distance to count as 'the same' very close words i.e movie == movies. For now I am not thinking about using any Collaborative Filtering technique looking for the tags to similar questions and so on, because I believe since the question text is pretty short (comparing with a blog article or a paper) it is not worth the effort. So I was wondering if you have any other (more) efficient approaches to suggest. Any ideas, specially from people who they have done something like that before, are more than welcome.

  I am implementing chat in my application, very similar to the iPhone's built-in Messages app. I have a UITextField next to a button. The user types something into the text field, and very often the text field suggests various autocorrections. In the built-in Messages app, tapping the Send button will cause the currently visible autocorrection suggestion to execute. I am seeking this behavior in my application, but haven't been able to find anything. Does anyone know of a way to programmatically execute the currently visible autocorrection/autocomplete suggestion of a UITextField when a completely separate control is activated? It's obviously possible somehow.

• Extra < using auto complete in Sublime Text 2

  I installed the All Autocomplete package in my Sublime Text 2 editor and everything works fine except when I type "<div" or something similar, the auto-complete box pops up, I select the one I want and hit enter and it adds "<<div></div>" with an extra "<" in the front of my tag. I have to go back and delete the extra "<" every time...(!) I can't seem to resolve this issue. If I use the command CTRL+Space, the box pops up and I can select the tag I want and it does not include the extra tag but that messes with my flow. Has anyone out there experienced this? • Why does jquery button take a second to refresh after updating a page using ajax

  when i refresh a part of a webpage that has a jquery ui button, it seems like I have to call: $(":button").button(); again or it shows up as a regular button. Thats fine but when i do this, it still shows up as a regular button for a split second before converting to the styling of the jquery theme. is there anyway to avoid this as it looks a bit messy. NOTE: i noticed that this is for anything that i am theming using jquery ui like autocomplete, button, etc. so its not button specific issue.

• Rails 2 and Ngnix: https pages can't load css or js (but will load graphics)

  ADMISSION: i've posted this same question on stackoverflow, before realising it's probabaly better suited to superuser, but it kind of depends on the answer: If it turns out to be a problem in my nginx config, it's definitely superuser. If it turns out to be a problem in my Rails config (or code) then it's arguably stackoverflow. I'm adding some https pages to my rails site. In order to test it locally, i'm running my site under one mongrel_rails instance (on 3000) and nginx. I've managed to get my nginx config to the point where i can actually go to the https pages, and they load. Except, the javascript and css files all fail to load: looking in the Network tab in chrome web tools, i can see that it is trying to load them via an https url. Eg, one of the non-working file urls is https://cmw-local.co.uk/stylesheets/cmw-logged-out.css?1383759216 I have these set up (or at least think i do) in my nginx config to redirect to the http versions of the static files. This seems to be working for graphics, but not for css and js files. If i click on this in the Network tab, it takes me to the above url, which redirects to the http version. So, the redirect seems to be working in some sense, but not when they're loaded by an https page. Like i say, i thought i had this covered in the second try_files directive in my config below, but maybe not.
