    Seit dem 14.09.2012 steht ein neues Release 2 von Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c zur Verfügung. Zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte von Enterprise Manager hat Oracle ein neues Release für alle Komponenten und Plattformen am gleichen Tag freigegeben. Das neue Release steht also sowohl bzgl. OMS als auch der Agenten für alle unterstützten Plattformen zur Verfügung. Damit kann das neue Release sofort für alle Umgebungen eingesetzt werden. Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 2 trägt die Versionsnummer 12.1.0.2 und ist vor allem ein Stabilitätsrelease. Es enthält hauptsächlich Bugfixes und Performance-Verbesserungen. Es gibt aber auch einige neue Features. Der heutige Tipp zeigt die neuen Features auf.

  • Are There Realistic/Useful Solutions for Source Control for Ladder Logic Programs

    Version control for ladder logic (LL) programs for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) seems to be virtually non-existent. It may be because LL is a visual language and tends to be stored in binary files, or it may be because source code control hasn't "caught on" in process control engineering circles - or perhaps my Google-Fu is weak tonight. Do you know of any realistic and useful solutions for version control for such systems? Definitions: realistic = changes to the programs are tracked by user and subject to reversion and merges useful = the system integrates with visual LL designers, is not limited to LL from a single PLC manufacturer, and does not cost a ridiculous amount of money? Note: I have heard of people using SVN or Mercurial et al to track the binary files, but I don't think the diff/merge capabilities would display readable differences.

  • Solutions for software using many calls to a server

    I am developing software that uses many calls to a server. On a client side it's a Silverlight application. Almost every time a user clicks on a button in it, it sends 1-5 WCF calls to a server. There can be up to dozen or so users at a time. The server is a database server that serves data to a client. I am an intermediate level developer and am thinking about caching some data and syncing my changes from time to time. Are there any official solutions or technologies for it, like, patterns and such?

  • Wesquare (NL) helps major CG customer integrating Oracle Service Cloud (RightNow) with JDEdwards

    Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE When this well known, Italy based, CG player claimed that they needed a new CRM tool, Oracle partner WeSquare had a precise idea of what would be required, knowing that the customer was using JDEdwards as an ERP: they immediately thoughts about a solution that would help synchronizing the customer’s back-end system with the new CRM interface. The customer asked for presentations from three companies, including Oracle, and eventually selected Oracle Service Cloud (RightNow) with Alfa Sistemi (Oracle Platinum Partner) as a System Integrator supported by Wesquare (Oracle Gold partner specialized in RightNow). Synchronizing an On Premises ERP with a new SaaS based CRM platform could be seen as an uphill task, but WeSquare was determined, during the presales cycle, to prove that they had the skills and the attitude to make the difference. So, they rolled up their sleeves and got to it: five days of relentless work, missed lunches, and hours of brainstorming showed its result in the form of a new interface that works fabulously well with the JDEdwards ERP back-end and was successfully pitched by Oracle to the end-customer to win the deal! WeSquare took the occasion to learn that they can integrate Oracle Service Cloud (RightNow) with practically every other solution that a customer may run. Eine große Anzahl von Zielsystemen wirft die Frage auf, wie diese Menge effizient verwaltet werden kann. Dazu gehören die Kontrolle des Zugriffs, die möglichst automatische Einstellung des Monitorings und die Bildung von benutzerorientieren Sichten. Zu diesem Zweck gibt es das Konzept der Gruppen, in denen Zielsysteme (Targets) zusammengefasst werden können.
