  • "Verifying DMI Pool" hang caused by raid array..

    Hi Experts, I have a problem, I obtained a new server with 4 hard drives (2 500 gig, 2 two TB), and an adeptec RAID card. I arranged them in two arrays with RAID 1 (500 gigs together as primary and the 2 TB drives for lots of data). When both arrays are configured, the server hangs while booting at message "Verifying DMI Pool", however if I remove the second array from the configuration the server boots fine. I have checked they are both on different channels, I have disabled all other peripherals from the boot menu and ensured the hard drive is #1. I have booted into the linux rescue mode and checked that it is reading both arrays fine. What else could be causing these problems? Thanks

    we're managing some web sites for our clients on our servers, some running Windows Server 2003 R2 and others running 2008 R2. In Windows Server 2008 R2, we can disable completely .NET framework usage for some application pools, which is great since most of our websites are still using classic ASP. After some issues with classic ASP applications being configured to run as ASP.NET 4 in a CLR 2.0 pool, we wanted to do the same thing in IIS6 - that is, have application pools without any .NET support. Is this a supported scenario in IIS6? Thanks

  • Unable to set .NET 4 on Application Pool from remote, works locally on server

    I have setup Remote Administration for IIS successfully and connected to it. For some reason .NET Framework 4 doesn't show up as an option when configuring the Application Pools from remote even though .NET 4 is installed on both server and client (not that client should matter). If I login to the server with RDP and configure the Application Pools it work as intended, the option shows up. Even more odd is if I edit an Application Pool that already runs .Net 4 it shows up as an alternative (kind of strangly formatted text though, just says v4.0 instead of .NET Framework v4.0.30319 ) How should I proceed to solve this?

    So IIS likes to shut down app pools that aren't in use. While this makes sense, I would like to have certain app pools conterminously running, but I don't want to just disable the automatic app pool restart as some of the settings (e.g., maximum memory limit) are good to have. I know that Microsoft announced the IIS Application Warmup module as an IIS 7.5 feature only then to do a Bait & Switch and pull it again so that they can put it in IIS 8 instead, so I wonder if something exists to run on IIS 7.5/Windows 2008 R2?

  • Tomcat's connection pool opens only 20 connections to mysql

Still, use information_schema; select count(*) from processlist where User = 'user'; never shows me more than 20 connections.     How does an IIS App Pool determine its Internet Settings? I'm specifying a custom identity under which to host a .NET web application, a service account that is part of our Active Directory domain. When the application runs, it needs to make HTTP requests to other servers. This action causes it to read web and proxy settings from some location, but I can't understand where it goes for this information. Does it look: At the default account's settings on that box? At the default profile on the AD server? Its own local/roaming profile? A combination of the above? Somewhere completely different?

  • IIS7 application pool spawning worker processes

    IIS7 ASP.net 2.0 Number of worker processes growing out of control in single app pool. Appear to keep spawning upwards. Monitoring the w3wp.exe process i can see "current connections" to web service sometimes spawn out of control but not always , only worker processes are consistently growing when this issue occurs. Number of worker processes normally 0 - 20 , when spawning they can reach 1000 + This was deployed in: %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet.config maxConcurrentRequestsPerCPU="50000" maxConcurrentThreadsPerCPU="0" requestQueueLimit="50000" But issue still occurs. Have tried running PROCDUMP on the exe process but the mini dump isnt a great help. I understand this is 99% probable an app issue , what i need help with is tracking it down. Thank you for any tips.     i'm new to this topic ... i'm using a ThreadPoolExecutor created with Executors.newFixedThreadPool( 10 ) and after the pool is full i'm starting to get a RejectedExecutionException . Is there a way to "force" the executor to put the new task in a "wait" status instead of rejecting it and starting it when the pool is freed ?   • Brother MFC-J470DW scan function "Check Connection"

    I have a Brother MFC-J470DW printer that I have connected to a Linux desktop (running Ubuntu 14.04) using a wireless router network. The printer works fine for printing and copying, but now I want to add the scan function. To set up the scan function, I went to the Brother web page for this printer: http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=eu_ot&lang=en&prod=mfcj470dw_us_eu_as&os=128 and under Scanner Drivers selected "Scanner driver 64bit (deb package)", "Scan-key-tool 64bit (deb package)", and "Scanner Setting file (deb package)". For each package, I clicked the EULA, and selected "open with Ubuntu Software Center". Then after the USC window pops up, I click on Install and the red line goes from left to right. In each case, the USC window then had a green checkmark and the Install box changes to Reinstall (that's how you know it worked). So now I try it out. Hitting the Scan button on the printer, selecting "Scan to file", and hitting ok produces the message "Check Connection". I checked the Brother Linux Information FAQ (scanner) page and the 14th question seems the same as mine: When I try to use the scan key on my network connected machine, I receive the error "Check connection" or I can not select anything except "scan to FTP". I explored the solution given for this FAQ, but found from ifconfig that I am already using eth0, the default setting, so presumably that is not the problem. I also found brscan-skey installed in /usr/bin and did drrm@drrmlinux2:~$ brscan-skey -t drrm@drrmlinux2:~$ brscan-skey but that didn't help - I still get the "Check connection" message. What can you suggest to fix this problem?

  • Reverse WiFi to Broadcast connection coming from a USB device

    I am using the app called Clockworkmod Tether. It connects using a script ( command line " gksu ./run.sh " ) on the computer. All my programs connect to the internet perfectly, minitube, midori, transmission torrents. But the network manager does not show any connection, wired or wireless. So this may cause issues? What I want to do is take this connection, and be able to share it some way, any way, by wireless. This Acer Timeline "Aspire 5810TZ" does have an Ethernet, so wired out to a router might be an option. But I would prefer to simply reverse the Wireless card to broadcast out to about 2 or 3 devices. Is this possible? Yes I have taken a look at the other questions already posted here, but the answers are 1 year old or older, and not clear at all. I am moderately comfortable (4.5 out of 10 ) on the command line. But pretty much need line by line directions for what commands are needed and what order, ect. Edit I have already tried the method of "Left click network manager, Create New Wireless Network" It is created fine, and I am able to connect to it with a tablet, but am un-able to get an outside connection with it. Using the "Shared to other computers" option because DHCP doesn't seem to work, and WEP Passphrase Security. I get an IP address on the connected device. But as I said, won't bring up any outside webpages or the like. So perhaps this is the wrong approach?

  • Wired connection problem through router

    I'm having trouble to connect my Ubuntu 11.10 to internet through ethernet. I installed a router to get Wi-Fi and now (by a wired connection) I can't have internet with ubuntu (but I can with Windows 7). I see several attempts per minute of the network-manager to get a connection, but after a minute it stops trying. I tried other solutions from other posts (this one has a similar issue Wired connection not working) but again nothing. My IP is dynamic. A couple of things I see and did: I see no inet addr, only inet6. I ignored ipv6 from the internet connections, and restarted the network-manager service and nothing. A difference with the post I mentioned is the RX packets with errors I have, is this a clue of the problem? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

  • Ethernet Connection Unavailable

    I'm running Ubuntu Server 12.04 on a laptop with an Intel NIC (driver e1000e). When I connect the ethernet port to the internet (college network, DHCP) it works out of the box. Now I'm trying to connect it to a networked USRP (if you want to know what it is). A friend of mine managed to do this in his laptop (running regular Ubuntu 12.04) just by setting up a new Wired connection in the Network Manager with appropriate addresses. However, when I do the same, no wired connections are available. The output of nmcli -p dev is =========================================== Status of devices =========================================== DEVICE TYPE STATE ------------------------------------------- wlan0 802-11-wireless connected eth0 802-3-ethernet unavailable but the cable is connected to the device and the device is powered up. Any idea how to solve this? UPDATE: After stopping the network-manager service, setting up the connection manually and starting the service again, it now detects the ethernet connection. However, the device still can't receive data and doesn't answer to pings. UPDATE 2: As suggested I tried using a cross over cable but the result is exactly the same. However, I found out that connecting the device to the dock (as opposed to directly to the laptop) works fine. I know that the ethernet port in the laptop works fine, because connecting to the network through it works. Is it possible that the port in the laptop doesn't support Gb Ethernet (because that's what the device requires) but the one in the dock does?

    I have two Ubuntu machines. Both have openssh-client and openssh-server installed on them. ssh-ing from machine G (fresh Ubuntu 11.10 installation) to machine K works great. But ssh-ing from machine K to machine G results always in the Error: Connect to host some_hostname port 22: Connection timed out I went through the troubleshooting section of help.ubuntu.com and I got the following results: ps -A | grep sshd # results in 848 ? 00:00:00 sshd - sudo ss -lnp | grep sshd # results in 0 128 :::22 :::* users:(("sshd",848,4)) 0 128 *:22 *:* users:(("sshd",848,3)) - ssh -v localhost # works! - sudo ufw status verbose # yields: "Status: inactive" I haven't change anything in the config file. What can I do to locate the Problem and solve it? Glad about every hint! Edit: ping was succesful in both directions! I did a telnet <machineK> 22 from machin G which resulted in Trying and then in telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out. But telnet the other way around worked just fine! Edit 2: ssh start/running, process 966 # yields: ssh start/running, process 966 /etc/hostname # contains my hostname, let's call it blubb /etc/hosts # contains the following 127.0.0.1 localhost # 127.0.1.1 blubb 129.26.68.74 blubb # I added this! - sudo service ufw status # yields: ufw start/running I installed Gufw and set it to ON. Then I selected from Incoming the option ALLOW. Then I sshed to another machine from where I sshed back to my machine. Still the same error as above: connect to host blubb port 22: Connection timed out Any more hints, what I can check?

  • Ubuntu 12.04 + Bluetooth problems with maintaining connection

    I have an Apple Wireless Mouse, Apple Wireless Keyboard, Apple Wireless Trackpad, and a pair of headphones. All of these connect to the computer via a Bluetooth dongle. After several hours I've managed to get the devices paired (all except the headphones) with the computer. However, I'm facing a problem where a connection can't be maintained even with one device. I first started with the gnome bluetooth applet, this couldn't even pick up devices, so I installed blueman, and this at least detected the devices but it couldn't keep the connection going. Then i read somewhere to get hidd installed and use the command line using the mac address of the device (which I got from blueman) and this worked really well, the connection was stable, but there's still a couple of issues that I need help with: If I am to use hidd I need to execute this via terminal, which means for the keyboard and the mouse I need to have two of each. This doesn't make sense. I need the bluetooth daemon to have started with the devices picked up a lot earlier, and especially at grub bootloader. The mouse and the trackpad both work if i use hidd, however, I cannot get the right mouse to work nor the scroll wheel to work. The headphones don't work period, they don't work with any of the bluetooth applets, and with hidd either. When I use blueman aplet, it attempts to pair and states 'Authentication Rejected". The headphone is Phillips SHB9100. If someone can help me with this, I would be grateful.

  • problems establishing ssh connection

    since two days I am facing a really weird problem. I have receantly installed ubuntu server 14.04 LTS on a workstation. It has a fix IP address, which I can successfully ping from other computers in the network. But when I try to establish a ssh connection from a windows computer via putty I get some strange errors, which I cannot fix. The Problem is that putty takes a really long time trying to establish a connection. After about 10 seconds I get the following error: Network error: Software caused connection abort But when I click the Restart Session option a several times after putty shows the error message, I can login in. But now comes the other problem. When the login appears on the putty console I type in the user, but it really takes a long time until I can type in the password to login. This is what I already tried: sshd: ALL in etc/hosts.allow commented line session optional pam_motd.so in etc/pam.d/login and etc/pam.d/sshd configured the firewall with: sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport ssh -j ACCEPT checked if ssh server is listening on port 22 UseDNS no in etc/ssh/sshd_config I hope someone can help me, because this problem is really annoying. Since control returns to the WCF system after the completion of that method, I don't know how I can close that connection afterwards.   • How do I properly handle a faulted WCF connection?

    In my client program, there is a WCF connection that is opened at startup and supposedly stays connected til shutdown. However, there is a chance that the server closes due to unforeseeable circumstances (imagine someone pulling the cable). Since the client uses a lot of contract methods in a lot of places, I don't want to add a try/catch on every method call. I've got 2 ideas for handling this issue: Create a method that takes a delegate and executes the delegate inside a try/catch and returns an Exception in case of a known exception, or null else. The caller has to deal with nun-null results. Listen to the Faulted event of the underlying CommunicationObject. But I don't see how I could handle the event except for displaying some error message and shutting down. Are there some best practices for faulted WCF connection that exist for app lifetime?
