• I have just created a subnet for a local network, connecting to a standalone server on another network, now I cannot connect to the internet

  I am just learning some new aspects of servers and networking. We have a network of 5 subnets that all interconnect with each-other. In order to get two computers on the subnet that we were setting up, I changed the IP from the subnet where the standalone server is on (where they used to be set up)to the local subnet we are remotely hooking up. Likewise I also changed the gateway to coincide with the new subnet. Only problem is that since doing this, I am unable to establish a connection to the internet. I can ping the server and correspong gateway & DNS server, but cannot get connected to the internet. We do have a dumb-switch (non-programmable) connected that receives both the internet and private network inputs and distributes (or should do so) to about 5 other computers. Bottom line, I cannot currently connect to the internet, and am wondering what could be causing this.. It is likely something very obvious and pardon me being more vague than I probably should be, but I could use some help resolving this! Thanks for any help!

  I need to set up some sort of a script on my Vista machine, so that whenever a file is added to a particular folder, it automatically triggers a background process that operates on the file. (The background process is just a command-line utility that takes the file name as an argument, along with some other predefined options.) I'd like to do this using native Windows features, if possible, for performance and maintenance reasons. I've looked into using Task Scheduler, but after perusing the trigger system for a while, I haven't been able to make much sense of it, and I'm not even sure if it's capable of doing what I need. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

What is causing this behavior and how do I get just a single raising of that event? I suspect that when the viewstate for the dynamcially created dropdownlists is restored and the selection restored, then the event is fired because technically the selected index did change when the control was recreated. The reason I suspect this is that the event fires the for each dropdownlist...

  Hi I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition x64 on a Windows Server 2008 VM. I run the installer for a standalone installation and this works fine for the setup support rules bit. That passes ok but then I get this error: TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure. SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error: Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created.. BUTTONS: OK How can I resolve this?   I'm getting strange error message from the following code: ArrayType * arrayType = ArrayType::get(Type::getInt32Ty(ctx), 0); stack = builder->CreateAlloca(arrayType, ConstantArray::get(arrayType, std::vector<Constant *>())); This code compiles fine but it gives me llvm::Value* getAISize(llvm::LLVMContext&, llvm::Value*): Assertion `Amt-getType() == Type::getInt32Ty(Context) && "Malloc/Allocation array size is not a 32-bit integer!"' failed. during execution. What's interesting, is that I never said of what type array size should be, it was created somewhere inside helper functions. So I naturally see no good reason for assert to be there. But I must be doing something wrong anyway, can you help me spot the problem? Thanks in advance. PS. LLVM, as good as it is, lacking documentation tremendously.

  I'm using a JMS queue to read from and insert data into a postgres table created by grails. The problem is obtaining the next sequence value. I thought I had found the solution with the following statement (by putting "DEFAULT" where the ID should go), but it's no longer working. I must have changed something, because I needed to recreate the table. • jQuery width() returns 0 for a span element created on the fly?

  Hi, I'm trying to determine the width of a string. I'm using the following code but it always return 0. It seems to be that as the span element is created and not already present in the page body, jQuery width() returns 0. Is there a way such that I can get the width of the text without resorting to creating dummy html code in the page?   Is there any way to change the name of a dynamic assembly after it has been created? I'm using a framework that uses dynamic methods, and it is creating a dynamic assembly with the same name as my main assembly (which causes problems with WPF when it tries to load resources). So I need to find a workaround, and I thought of trying to change the name of the dynamic assembly. I've tried using GetName() and then setting the Name property, but it appears that GetName returns a clone of the name because my change doesn't stick. What else can I try?

  Hi, I worked on code .It is working successfully. But Problem i am facing is: New Columns are not visible in List ( I tried with With Setting Required = "TRUE" ). I tried with compairing Field Value of Both Visible and No-Visible Columns. Difference i found is : Visible Columns (Created Manually) doesn't contain Version value. wereas columns i am creating have it. So i tried with passing null value to "ndVersion.Value". But it is still not working and automaticaly putting some value to version. Can you help me out in this? I tried Solution given Here . But it din't Worked again. :(

  We simply created a DataGridView control dynamically and bound it to a DataTable. We were tying to style certain columns. But, when we tried to access the columns we got a null reference. On further investigation we found that if we add the DataGridView control to the main form, and then try to access its columns, it works fine!!! Code which throws error: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); Code which works fine: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable this.Controls.Add(gv); //adding to form Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); //the assertion fails!   A few years ago we deployed TortoiseSVN 1.4.3 to our software development team and we used this client to create a repository on a share point. We are now looking at upgrading to the latest 1.6.x version of TortoiseSVN. I had hoped this would be transparent as the additional features and modifications will all be client-side. For the most part this is true except for a very important feature -- merging. When I try to merge a feature branch back into truck I get a "Merge tracking not supported error." So now the question becomes, how does one upgrade a 1.4.3 TortoiseSVN created repo to be compatible with the latest 1.6.x version of TortoiseSVN? As a follow up question, if we were to successfully upgrade the repo such that the 1.6.x client works flawlessly, will we still be backwards compatible with a 1.4.x client?

  I have a DataSet that I have added to my project where I can Insert and Add records using the Add Query function in Visual Studio 2010, however I want to add transactions to this, I have found a few examples but cannot seem to find one that works with these. I know I need to use the SQLClient.SQLTransaction Class somehow. I used the Add New Data Source Wizard and added the Tables/View/Functions I need, I just need an example using this process such as How to get the DataConnection my DataSet has used. Assuming all options have been set in the wizard and I am only using the pre-defined adapters and options asked for in this wizard, how to I add the Transaction logic to my Database. For example I have a DataSet called ProductDataSet with the XSD created for this, I have then added my Stock table as a Datasource and Added an AddStock method with a wizard, this also if a new item calls an AddItem method, if either of these fails I want to rollback the AddItem and AddStock in this case.

  I'm writing a c# application that can create a series of request messages. Each message could have a response, that needs to be waited on by a consumer. Where the number of outstanding request messages is constrained, I have used the windows EVENT to solve this problem. However, I know there is a limit on how many EVENT objects can be created in a single process, and in this instance, its possible I might exceed that limit. Does anyone know if there is a similar limit on creation of mutex objects or semaphores? I know this can be solved by some sort of pool of shared resources, that are grabbed by consumers when they need to wait, but it would be more convenient if each request message could have its own sync object.

  Hi, I want to pass parameters betweeen applet and jsf components So when a value of a input textbox changed, its binding backing bean makes connection to a servlet. The servlet create an attribute and save to HttpSession using (request.getSession(true)).setAttribute(name, value); Then at some event, applet will access another servlet. This servlet will try to retrieve the Attribute saved to Session previously. However, everytime, the attirbute returned is null as the new session is created instead. Everything was fine until today: A dictionary, created in a constructor and NEVER deleted, was lost (null referece) just after deserialization from file, for the first time in more than a year doing the same without troubles. So, is there a Software Tool to look into binary serialization content showing a human/developer-readable version (a la Reflector) of what is stored? AKA: How to analyze (easy, no binary to IL translation. That would take months) binary serialized content? Thanks!

  Hi when saving to a model, my created and modified fields aren't automatically populated by CakePHP. It was automatically populated when I was using MySQL but now it isn't. I'm not using NOW() back when I was still using MySQL. Why is it? Also when a field's value is not set 'NULL' (with quotes) is inserted causing errors because SQL Server says I can't insert a string to a field of type smallint/date etc. How do I fix this?   i have some rows of data displayed in a table and on mouse over of each row i've list two buttons inside a div element and then display it for some time. And i've associated some functions to be called on clicking the buttons that are dynamically created and displayed elements.. So what i did was i wrote a function which will create elements dynamically and place them exactly where i wanted using styles. And i wrote another function which will remove these dynamically added elements. I called them on mouseover and mouseout events of the row. now when i move mouse out the row to click the button they get disappeared bcoz of my mouseout function. So how can i proceed this? And what is the perfect method to create these kind of stuffs?

  Given: I have a custom server control in the markup of an aspx page. This control creates child controls in its CreateChildControls() method (e.g. it retrieves content from a database and based on that content dynamically creates either a CheckBoxList or a RadioButtonList) Now I understand that I cannot access the dynamically created controls on postback unless I add them again on Page_Init or Page_PreInit (as per here). My question is, how do I add them again explicitly in Page_Init or Page_PreInit if they are just going to be added yet again when we get around to calling Render() on each of the custom server controls? I'm very certain this is not a unique problem, so there must be a best practice way of doing it...I just don't know what it is :/
