    My android application get restarted when I take the application from home screen, but this not a consistent. Some time it works perfectly (resume with the last visited activity). My application contains a splash screen activity and 5 activities in tab layout. Usage Start application After splash screen the application shows one of the activity in tab Press home button Try to invoke application from home screen Application gets restarted, it is not happening always. I am working on actual device.   • How to debug c++ DirectShow filter

    What debugging tools are available for directshow filters? Presently, I have a project that compiles and registers a video source filter that I then setup a graph in GraphEdit. I am using c++ in visual studio 2008. Is it possible to get a debugger attached to the filter in any way where I could set break points, inspect variables, etc? Barring that is there a way to log diagnostic information somewhere that I can view in real time?

    I'm parsing this line: <type>branch</type> with this code if ([elementName isEqualToString:@"type"]) { [currentBranchDictionary setValue:currentText forKey:currentElementName]; } When I test the value in the type key, it does not contain branch but instead it contains branch\n. Here is the test I'm performing: if ([[currentBranchDictionary valueForKey:@"type"] isEqualToString:@"branch"]) { NSLog(@"no new-line"); } else if ([[currentBranchDictionary valueForKey:@"type"] isEqualToString:@"branch\n"]) { NSLog(@"new-line"); } this returns the "new-line" output I don't understand where the carriage return is being added, can anyone help?

    Intermittently when I start debugging a web application VS hangs (not responding). It will start OK if I run the appllication without debugging. When it has happened once it will do it every time until I delete the vbporj.user file. This problem appeared when I moved to Win7 64bit. I am using VS2008 Pro and everything is patched up to date. I am using the internal IIS7.

    i have two maven projects, the first one is a library and the other one use it to works properly, the both have to elvolve regardless each other, this is why i use two different project. But breakpoints on my library code doesn't work when i launch my app (the second application).     I get this, clicking 'no' means the page displays flawlessly. it's refering to this part of jquery1.4.2.js: // Get the Nth element in the matched element set OR // Get the whole matched element set as a clean array get: function( num ) { return num == null ? // Return a 'clean' array this.toArray() : // Return just the object ( num < 0 ? this.slice(num)[ 0 ] : this[ num ] ); }, I assume i'm calling something in the wrong context somewhere in one of my js files (which would be a real mission to find). Will standard IE8 users get this error? (i imagine ms make it pretty difficult to reinstall ie!)

    Hi. I'm trying to read some ODBC details form a registry and for that I use RegQueryValueEx. The problem is when I compile the release version it simply cannot read any registry values.     I have Perl program based on io::async, and it sometimes just exits after a few hours/days without printing any error message whatsoever. There's nothing in dmesg or /var/log either. STDOUT/STDERR are both autoflush(1) so data shouldn't be lost in buffers. It doesn't actually exit from IO::Async::Loop->loop_forever - print I put there just to make sure of that never gets triggered. Now one way would be to keep peppering the program with more and more prints and hope one of them gives me some clue. Is there better way to get information what was going on in a program that made it exit/silently crash?

    I'm learning JavaScript but seem to be having a problem. I have a piece of code that is executed when the page is fully loaded. The function then gathers all the button elements on my HTML page. From here I loop through getting each button's title attribute and then assign an onclick event to the button that is equal to a function that writes to the console.log with the title. I have tried various ways of doing this but it is not working. Here is the JavaScript code that I'm working with. Currently all it does is loop through calling the function and logging the tile to the console.log, but this is not supposed to happen.     I am getting the exception: The type initializer for 'my class' threw an exception. in my browser after running my web application. Since this seems to be an error message generated from the view (.aspx), there is no way I can see the stack trace or any log for the source of this error. I have read a bit around the net and one solution to debugging is to throw a TypeInitializationException and then looking at the inner exception to find out what was wrong. How can I do this when I don't know where to surround code with a try/catch ?

    Does anyone know of a walk-through or any examples of any code to setup sensors in android. I have the drivers available to me. Also i have implemented the sensors library as instructed in the Android-Reference along the sensors.h template. I am still unable to get any response at the apps level. How do i trace this issue? what might be the problem? Thanks in advance UPDATE: Jorgesys's link below points to a great APP to test if the sensor drivers are functioning properly or not. Not that i know they are not functioning, Any ideas of on where to dig??...

    Hi. So I have the (mostly vilified) #define MAX( a, b ) ( ((a) > (b)) ? (a) : (b) ) somewhere in a program (yes, yes, I know). At some point in the code there is a comparison X>-1?, where X is (as far as I can tell) a (signed) integer. The line is j += MAX(bmGs[i], bmBc[(int)y[i + j]] - m + 1 + i);, where y here is a char*. Not necessarily surprisingly, I find that the macro is returning -1 as the larger number (I'm guessing too long a number for int or an unsigned issue, but I can't find it). I would like to know techniques you guys may have for finding these kinds of errors. Notice that I'm not asking for programming advice about whether or not to use that macro, I'm sure folks are dying to tell me I should refrain from things like that, but the question is going somewhere else.     I have an application which takes measurements every second (I am running it in demo mode & generating random data, so the problem is not to do with reading from devices attached to the serial port). After 5 or 6 minutes it hangs. I have added try // entire body of procedure/function goes here except on E: Exception do begin MessageDlg('Internal coding error in <function name>()', mtError, [mbOK], 0); end; end; to every single function (and Application.Run() in the project file), but I don't see any message dialogs. Any idea how I can test this?

  • Android debug mode not working waiting for device

    I'm trying to get my android phone working to run apps from inside an IDE. Got it working on windows no problem, currently working in fedora (18) a lot though so wanted to get it working with that. Got IntelliJ and android sdk installed, problem is when I try to run the default hello world app it wont work it just says waiting for device.. Ran adb devices got List of devices attached ???????????? no permissions Leads me to believe the driver isn't installed? Phone I'm using is a HTC Sensation. Does anyone know what I can do to try and resolve it? The HTC web page doesn't offer me drivers to install. Also noticed in /etc/udev/rules.d/..android.rules there is nothing about Sensation. Seems it recognises my nexus 7 though.. Edit: Tried my nexus.. got List of devices attached 901839238298923 offline So it doesn't even work with that.. confusing.. Any help would be appreciated.
