• Why am I unable to send an attachment with Outlook via SMTP that I am able to send via Gmail / Google Apps?

  I have Google Apps installed and I have tried to set up Outlook 2007 to send messages via SMTP. I followed the guide, selecting what I believe are all the correct settings. Yes, I am using POP for incoming, that is intentional but I don't believe it should affect outgoing messages. When I log into gmail (google apps) for my company, I can send a message that has an 8MB attachment (pdf file, not zipped or anything) and it sends fine. However, when I send the same message in Outlook with that same 8mb attachment it fails. Why am I unable to send an attachment with Outlook via SMTP that I am able to send via Gmail / Google Apps? The message headers are (some info omitted for privacy): Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. • Google Chrome is in Danish

  I'm not sure what i have done, but by default, Chrome comes up in Danish. I can ignore this most of the time but its v annoying and i cant seem to change it. For example google directions come up in Danish too and have to be translated back to English! I have tried the spanner icon, and i've confirmed the only two languages specified are En and US English. Does anyone have any ideas how i can default it back to English all the time.   I can ALT+TAB to Chrome, then CTRL+T to a new tab, then type my request and hit ENTER, but then when I want to look into the first search result I need to take my hand off the keyboard to click it?? Surely someone can recommend a plugin which enables me to just press 1 to go to the first search result, 2 for the second, etc. Or something like that? EDIT: This Greasemonkey script offers precisely what I want, and appears to install perfectly well on Chrome - but doesn't work at all :( Also, I'm using Google Chrome 4.0.249.43 on 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10.

• Analyse frequencies of date ranges in Google Spreadsheet

  I have a Google Spreadsheet where I would like to compute occurrences of date ranges. As you can see in my sheet, there is a column date_utc+1 which contains almost random date data. What I would like to do is put the date values into bins of 6 hours each, i.e., 12/5/2012 23:57:04 until 12/6/2012 0:03:17 would be in the first bin, 12/6/2012 11:20:53 until 12/6/2012 17:17:07 in the second bin, and so forth. Then, I would like to count the occurrence of those bins, such as bin_from bin_to freq ----------------------------------------------- 12/5/2012 23:57:04 12/6/2012 0:03:17 2 12/6/2012 11:20:53 12/6/2012 17:17:07 19 ... ... ... Hope it is clear what I mean. Partial hints are very welcome as well since I am pretty new to spreadsheeting.

• Shockwave not responding in Google Chrome

  When browsing in Google chrome, I get an error message The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x0025bf18. I get a pop-up message later saying that the shockwave plugin is not responding. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Chrome (even by clearing my browsing data while uninstalling) and still the error persists. There are 2 instances of shockwave that I could see in my chrome by typing chrome://plugins. I've tried disabling either of those alternatively too. This prevents me from browsing a lot of sites including FB and Stackoverflow through my favorite browser. I dont have any problem when I work from Internet Explorer. Please help!

• Windows 7 64-bit Google Chrome Makes Desktop Unresponsive

  For the past 1-2 weeks my desktop becomes unresponsive sometimes. The problem seems to happen as I load a page in Google Chrome; it could be any page though today it happened when I tried to load a page with Flash content in it. The problem is not consistent and there is no pattern. I can do a virus scan using some software (not antivirus installed--never needed that) but I strongly suspect it is some software I installed or some Windows Update. This is a very powerful Dell Optiplex 990 with 16GB RAM, so Memory shouldn't be an issue. When the problem happens the cursor becomes spinning even over the taskbar and control alt delete takes a long time. Eventually I get a message that 'this program is not responding' with end/close and 'cancel' icon. But repeated end or cancel does nothing. Then the menu for ctrl alt del comes up. The rest of the applications keep running fine though I can't get to them because the cursor is the wait-cursor. What is happening? How can I find what exactly caused the problem? Thanks.

• Cannot play windows WMA lossless files on Rhythmbox

  I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 with all its updates (without Windows) on it’s own drive and everything is working fine. I want to play WMA audio files, also mp3 files. The mp3 files play fine. The WMA files do not play. Used "Rhythmbox Music Player" with and without "Ubuntu-restricted" -extras. Still does not play the lossless windows audio files. I am frustrated with searching to play a WMA file ("download this converter"), but one cannot use this until one "deletes this". I have done everything but it still does not play my windows lossless files that I made from all my CD’s. I am looking for a music player that I can use to play mp3’s and WMA lossless music files and automatically put the album cover on and update the info if one exists. Installation should be as simple as possible. Right now I am back to the original virgin Ubuntu 10.10 with all the recent updates. This computer will do nothing but play music (mp3 and WMA) through a stereo system. I also use Internet to update album info for the music. I do not care what bells and whistles the music player program has, as long as it is an easy install and just plays my mp3 and wma lossless music files. Any help would be appreciated.

• Using Durable Services for saving wcf instances

  I am currently creating a service which connects to a DAL and that can run a few stored procedures, one of the issues I am facing is that for certain times of the month, we can't update the database, (at the moment this is done manually. This is done via the user adding a note to their calendar) But I would like to automate this process, one of the possible solutions I can think of using is a durable service. When the date is lets say the 1st of the month, the Update/Insert/Delete instances can get saved to a database, and then ran after that date in a batch. Is this the intended use of durable services ? Is there a better route I could possibly take ?

• Removing google mail markers with jquery after getting them from xml

  Hi there, I'm trying to create a page that contains a google map. The map is filled with markers from an xml file. I just can't figure out how to remove "old" markers, that don't match the latest user input. At the moment my js stops after the very first xml item. The clearList.push(marker); is supposed to put the generated marker away for later usage. When the user hits the search button I want all markers to be gone and use clearMarkers();. • Connecting to Magento Web Services with Java

  I was in the unenviable position of needing to connect to Magento, a PHP ecommerce platform, web services using Java.  It was kind of difficult to get the classes generated from the WSDL so I figured I would throw the results up on my github account for any other poor sap in a similar position. First, pull down the project using git: git clone git://github.com/webdevwilson/magento-java.git and build it with maven: mvn install Here is a quick example of how to pull an order using the generated classes: MagentoServiceLocator serviceLocator = new MagentoServiceLocator(); String url = "http://domain.com/index.php/api/v2_soap"; Mage_Api_Model_Server_V2_HandlerPortType port = serviceLocator.getMage_Api_Model_Server_V2_HandlerPort(url); String sessionId = port.login("username", "key"); SalesOrderEntity salesOrder = port.salesOrderInfo(sessionId, orderId); I also have some wrapper code in there that makes it a little easier to call the API.   A great news to all the iPAD customers. In addition to their new Apple’s product, iPAD consumers also get an additional bonus of new Gmail Interface along with the iPAD. The iPAD’s large multi touch screen allows us to now check Gmail in jus fraction of second The new Gmail interface for iPAD has two pane with the E-Mail header on the left side and the actual conversation on the right side. Though this new pane slightly reminds us about the Microsoft’s Outlook version, the look and feel of Google’s makes us feel that its new to the market.
