  • Asp.Net error reporting with stacktrace

    I have an Asp.Net web site set up to log errors using Log4Net (in global.asax) and redirect users to a custom error page (set up in web.config with: ). On this error page the users have the opportunity to write about what they did when the error occurred and post the description back to us to help fix the problem. My question is this: How do i connect the error stacktrace to the users error report? It appears that .Net has handled the error when it was written to the log file and the custom error page has no information about the stacktrace. If only I could see the stacktrace from the custom error page code-behind my problem would be solved.

    I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my system. However, I need to install Windows 7 back, and I expect that it would alter GRUB and it did. Right now, my partition on my Software RAID 0 looks like this: nvidia_acajefec1 is Ubuntu 10.10 and nvidia_acajefec3 is Windows 7. I've been following some guides around and I am always stuck at GRUB not able to detect the usual RAID content. I've tried running: sudo grub > root (hd0,0) GRUB complains it couldn't find my hard disk. So I tried: find (hd0,0) And it complains that it couldn't find anything. So I tried: find /boot/grub/stage1 It said "file not found". Here's the text from the console: ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ grub Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time.   • Can't Boot, video drivers or x-server problem?

    I was uninstalling some programs that I installed to try and get my iPod touch working with Ubuntu (I gave up on that) when ubuntu just crashed. Now after I choose ubuntu in GRUB, it gives me a screen that says "Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode: your screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself" It was working just fine before I started to uninstall those programs. I think that I might have uninstalled something necessary to the system. If I click OK on the screen, it gives me options to reconfigure, troubleshoot, exit to console, or restart X. But no matter what I choose I still can't boot into ubuntu - I get stuck looking at the splash screen which stalls forever. I was receiving support from one of my mate's and he was doing something with the LiveCD, and now the message doesn't pop up any more, I just get stuck at a never ending splash screen. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    I want the resolution of my console to match my screen resolution(1440x900). 1024x768 works fine but for some reason when I put 1440x900 when I switch to ttyX the command prompt is almost right off the bottom of the screen! The Ubuntu splash screen goes off the edge of the screen during boot as well.     I've been dual booting my system with Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) and 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) but today after an update, I can't boot into 10.10, there's only option to boot into 11.04 and Grub also looks a bit different. Before this update, I used to see first option for 11.04 and an other option called /dev/sda1 for 10.10 but now there is a new option called Previous Linux Versions, but when I Enter into that menu, there is no option to boot into 10.10 all the options take me to 11.04 now it looks like this... And when I click on Previous Linux Versions...

    I have to install Ubuntu 11.10 from the AMD64 mini.iso on a system with UEFI BIOS motherboard. I have configured a virtual machine in VirtualBox for making a test install before I setup the real system. In VirtualBox I have enabled EFI. When the virtual machine is powered on and boot mini.iso the Grub commandline is shown. If I try to boot the normal Ubuntu CD it works fine and I get the normal boot options "Install Ubuntu" etc. Does Ubuntu mini.iso not work with EFI?

    I'm running Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2, and Postgres 8.2 on Windows, and I'm seeing something funky in Apache's error.log file. Occasionally, I'll see the message "row number -1 is out of range 0..-1" pop up over and over. Unlike all the other lines in that log file, there's no timestamp or log level. Just that exact string. Googling around, it appears that message is, character for character, a common Postgres error message, but is not an Apache error. I've seen it happen multiple times, and on several different servers. I can't seem to reproduce it, though. I've tried throwing all sorts of error ridden database queries and result set inquiries at Postgres via PHP, and none of them seem to trigger that line being written to the log file. Is it possible for Postgres errors to be ending up in my Apache log file, and if so, how? What would trigger an error message like that? Thanks!

  • Apache only logs PHP errors if LogLevel is set to debug

    I'm developing a CodeIgniter application and for reasons that I do not fully understand errors have stopped being logged in the file specified in the Apache site conf. The page I'm testing is definitely generating a 500 error, but that is not reflected in the logs unless I set LogLevel debug. Setting LogLevel to error or warn results in no errors being logged. I don't think this is a CI issue because I've been developing this site for close to a week now and errors have been logged as expected until I picked the project up again this morning. Though for what it's worth, I've got: error_reporting(E_ALL); set in my index.php.

    I dual-boot with Windows and Ubuntu. Usually, when I restart my computer, it is to switch os. Is there a way to tell it to Grub so that it preselects the right os in its menu when I restart my computer? Currently, I have the following two lines in /etc/default/grub file : GRUB_DEFAULT=saved GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true These lines make Grub preselects the os I just left. Maybe there is a similar way to tell Grub that I want it to preselect the os I use before the one I just left.

    SQL Server Agent fails to start because of the error 15281 is a very common error. When you start to restart SQL Agent sometimes it will give following error. SQL Server blocked access to procedure ‘dbo.sp_get_sqlagent_properties’ of component ‘Agent XPs’ because this component is turned off as part of the security configuration for this server. A system administrator can enable the use of ‘Agent XPs’ by using sp_configure. For more information about enabling ‘Agent XPs’, search for ‘Agent XPs’ in SQL Server Books Online. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15281) To resolve this error, following script has to be executed on the server. sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1; GO RECONFIGURE; GO sp_configure 'Agent XPs', 1; GO RECONFIGURE GO When you run above script, it will give a very similar output as following on the screen. Now, if you try to restart SQL Agent it will just work fine. That’s it! Sometimes there is a simpler solution to complicated error.     Today, i installed ubuntu along with my preinstalled windows8 on Lenovo Y580. At the end of installation this messasge popped up saying that Grub installation failed. After this i installed Easy BCD ( http://neosmart.net/EasyBCD/ i use this also on my PC where i use win7 with Ubuntu). The problem i got is - because of choosing installation along with win8 i dont know where ubuntu is installed so i cant boot it even when using Easy BCD. What should i do now? Lucia

    I'm currently using ubuntu 12.04 which has grub2 and wanted to install windows 8 from my USB, i also created a bootable usb flash drive using windows 7 dvd download tool, the problem is - I formatted my hard drive and whenever i try to boot from the flash drive i get an error "error: unknown filesystem" and gives grub rescue prompt, since my dvd drive is not working the only way for me to install win8 is from USB,can anybody help me with this?

    I have Lenovo Y560 Laptop on which installed Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10 as dual boot.Due to some reason i had to recover boot loader using bootrec.exe /fixmbr and bootrec.exe /fix boot,It created one partition of size 198MB named "tet" and my both os were working fine. Ysterday while making some changes in partition table i deleted that "tets" partition and after reboot im getting following error Error:unknow filesystem grub rescue i tried to boot from windows installer cd and but it stucks at "starting windows" so not able to run commands which i have mentioned earliar and tried to boot from Ubuntu 11.10,it stucks after showing following error memory full can't kill anymore process. Please help me out

    I have windows8 and ubuntu 13.10 installed on my laptop in dual-boot mode.While updating the disk management system my pc got hanged and on restarting it have grub rescue mode prompting on the screen.I tried ls (hd0,msdos_) all the commands but it shows 'unknown file system".i tried booting with ubuntu,boot-repair,superboot live cd but it shows "Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!" and hangs on the screen with two blinking lights.please suggest some help as soon as possible thanks in advance

    I was previously using Win7 and had two partitions on my hard disk. After learning about Ubuntu I decide to remove Windows and install Ubuntu 11.10 instead. All my important files and documents are stored in my second partition. After successful installation, during restart I get the error : error: unknown filesystem grub rescue> Please help me to resolve the problem, and note that I don't want dual boot my machine.

  • Format a pc with a GRUB error

    i have a pc with a grub error {caused by deleting ubuntu partition in XP dual boot} i would like to format the hard disk and install a new OS [chromium] i do not have either the ubuntu or the XP installation drives although i do have the chromium bootable drive when i try to boot from the chrome bootable USB its says "your system is repairing itself" and restarts. this keeps happening over and over again. i just want to format my HDD completely and start over with chromium (i have no important data on the HDD)
