  • How to force Json.Net to put an integer value into a string field?

    - by Earlz
Hello, in using Json.Net I have a class like this class Foo{ public string name; public string value; } and I have a JSON string that looks like this: [{"name": "some name","value": "1"}] The problem with this is that Json.Net detects "1" as being an integer(due to ambiguities with JSON) and will refuse to put it into the string value of Foo How can I override this behavior so that it will put the string "1" into value?

  • Parameterizing a SQL IN clause on an integer column?

    - by SkippyFire
Jeff Atwood asked the original question about parameterizing a SQL IN clause, but I want to do this with an integer column. If I try the code from the original post I get the following exception, which makes sense: Conversion failed when converting the varchar value '%|' to data type int. Anyone try this before?

  • Who "invented" i,j,k as integer counter variable names? [closed]

    - by mjy
Possible Duplicate: Why are we using i as a counter in loops I've used these myself for more than 15 years but cannot really remember how/where I picked up that habit. As it is really widespread, I'm curious to know who originally suggested / recommended using these names for integer loop counters (was it the K&R book?).

  • How to pass an integer to create new variable name?

    - by Joe
I have 50 svg animations named animation0, animation1, animation2 etc. and I want to load them when the integer 0 to 49 is passed to this function: function loadAnimation(value){ var whichswiffy = "animation" + value; var stage = new swiffy.Stage(document.getElementById('swiffycontainer'), whichswiffy); stage.start(); } It doesn't work at the moment, maybe it's passing 'whichswiffy' rather than 'animation10'? Any ideas?

  • VB.NET: How to know time for which system is idle?

    - by Daredev
I'm making an application in which I'm implementing auto-monitor turn off when system is idle, i.e. when user is not interacting with the system. I found a link: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/SystemIdleTimerComponent.aspx it does provides the componenent to know when system is idle. But when I include: Public WM_SYSCOMMAND As Integer = &H112 Public SC_MONITORPOWER As Integer = &Hf170 <DllImport("user32.dll")> _ Private Shared Function SendMessage(hWnd As Integer, hMsg As Integer, wParam As Integer, lParam As Integer) As Integer End Function Private Sub button1_Click(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs) SendMessage(Me.Handle.ToInt32(), WM_SYSCOMMAND, SC_MONITORPOWER, 2) End Sub It shows this error: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'Form1' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.

  • Java generics parameters with base of the generic parameter

    - by Iulian Serbanoiu
Hello, I am wondering if there's an elegant solution for doing this in Java (besides the obvious one - of declaring a different/explicit function. Here is the code: private static HashMap<String, Integer> nameStringIndexMap = new HashMap<String, Integer>(); private static HashMap<Buffer, Integer> nameBufferIndexMap = new HashMap<Buffer, Integer>(); // and a function private static String newName(Object object, HashMap<Object, Integer> nameIndexMap){ .... } The problem is that I cannot pass nameStringIndexMap or nameBufferIndexMap parameters to the function. I don't have an idea about a more elegant solution beside doing another function which explicitly wants a HashMap<String, Integer> or HashMap<Buffer, Integer> parameter. My question is: Can this be made in a more elegant solution/using generics or something similar? Thank you, Iulian

  • DbMetal chokes on repeated foreign key references in SQLite - any ideas?

    - by DanM
I've been struggling to get DbMetal to process my SQLite database. I finally isolated the problem. It won't allow a table to have two foreign key references to the same column. For example, a SQLite database with these two tables will fail: CREATE TABLE Person ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, Name TEXT NOT NULL ); CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id) ); I get this error: DbMetal: Sequence contains more than one matching element If I get rid of the second foreign key reference, no error occurs. So, this works: CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL ); But I really need both "person" columns to reference the person table. I submitted a bug report for this, but I could use a workaround in the meantime. Any ideas?

  • Doctrine generate models - problem with relation type

    - by mrok
I am trying generate doctrine models from yaml schema I have schema like that: Product: columns: id: type: integer(5) primary: true unsigned: true autoincrement: true activation_time: type: datetime notnull: true enduser_id: type: integer(5) unsigned: true notnull: true relations: Enduser: foreignType: one type: one foreignAlias: Product Hostid: columns: id: type: integer(5) primary: true unsigned: true autoincrement: true value: type: string(32) fixed: true notnull: true Order: columns: id: type: integer(5) primary: true autoincrement: true unsigned: true expire_date: type: datetime description: type: clob Enduser: columns: id: type: integer(5) primary: true unsigned: true autoincrement: true hostid_id: type: integer(5) unsigned: true notnull: true order_id: type: integer(5) unsigned: true notnull: true relations: Order: foreignAlias: Endusers Hostid: foreignAlias: Endusers and the problem is that models generated by doctrine generate-models-yaml are wrong in BaseEnduser $Product is defined as Doctrine_Collection $this-hasMany('Product', array( 'local' = 'id', 'foreign' = 'enduser_id')); instead just Product object what did I wrong? relation is defined as foreignType: one type: one
