  • Subversion: Secure connection truncated

    - by Nick
Hi, I'm trying to set-up a subversion server with apache2/webdav access. I've created the repository and configure Apache according to the official book, and I can see the repository in a webbrowser. The browser shows: conf/ db/ hooks/ locks/ Although clicking any of those links gives an empty xml document like: <D:error> <C:error/> <m:human-readable errcode="2"> Could not open the requested SVN filesystem </m:human-readable> </D:error> I've never used subversion before so I assume this is correct? Anyway, when I try to connect via a command line client, it asks for my password, I give it, then I get the (useless) error message: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://svn.mysite.com': Could not read status line: Secure connection truncated (https://svn.mysite.com) The command I'm using is: svn checkout https://svn.mysite.com/ svn.mysite.com Subversion was installed using Ubuntu's package manager. It's version 1.6.6 on Ubuntu 10.04. My Virtualhost Cofiguration: <VirtualHost 123.123.12.12:443> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName svn.mysite.com <Location /> DAV svn SVNParentPath /var/svn/repos SVNListParentPath On AuthType Basic AuthName "Subversion Repository" AuthUserFile /etc/subversion/passwd Require valid-user </Location> # Setup The SSL Certificate Paths SSLEngine On SSLCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/mysite.com.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/private/dmysite.com.key </VirtualHost>

  • SVN X remains in tree-conflict

    - by Paul Knopf
I am using VisualSVN (which uses Tortoise). I accidentally move a folder to a different location. When tries to move it back, SVN pukes with this error. It happened once before and I managed to do some random updates/commits, not knowing what I was doing and it was "fixed". I cannot pull the same magic again, so I need to know how to get my files and directory and of tree-conflict. Thanks!

  • SVN (Subversion) Problem "File is scheduled for addition, but is missing" - Using Versions

    - by Mike
I'm using Versions for SVN. I attempt to commit and get this message: Commit failed (details follow): '/Users/mike/Sites/mysite.com/astss-cvsdude/Trunk/cart/flashfile.swf' is scheduled for addition, but is missing I suppose this is because I had added files to the repo, and then deleted them via the filesystem. I'd like to have it simply make note of my change, and apply the change to the repo. How can I get around this?

  • How to migrate from SVN to GIT Locally

    - by Guilherme
I'm working on a project that initially used Subversion, but the remote repository was removed and i don't want to use Subversion any more. I want to migrate it to git. There's a way to do it without the remote repository, keeping all revisions history (without doing a git init .)? I've already made a subversion to git migration with git-svn with no problems it on other projects, but they were on remote repository and i cannot find any info about migrating it locally.

  • Ignoring svn folders in WinMerge

    - by Martin
I'm trying to recursively compare two subversion working copy folders using WinMerge. Unfortunately, WinMerge displays lots of differencing files inside of the subversion control folders (.svn or _svn). Is it possible to somehow exclude the subversion folders from the comparision? Or is there another (free) diff-tool which is able to do this?

  • Prevent checkins to SVN

    - by Joseph Mastey
My team uses SVN for our software platform, and we create tags periodically to help keep module versions straight. Best practice, as I understand it, is not to modify a tag once it has been created. However, it seems that sometimes the temptation is too great and a modification is made to one of the tags. Is there a way to prevent these kinds of checkins, or at least make them a complete pain so that we can discourage them automatically? Thanks, Joe

  • SVN post-commit hook not executing file

    - by Oded
I have created an exe file that will print to console the first and second arguments that it receives. In the SVN post-commit hook I wrote: PATH_TO_FILE\print.exe "%1" "%2" when I make a check-in, it gets stuck. %1 is the PATH %2 is revision number

  • SVN client on windows without administrator rights

    - by Liu Chang
I am trying to install an svn client on a friend's work windows laptop without much success. It seems that everyone is using TortoiseSVN nowadays, which unfortunately doesn't install without administrator access. Is there any way around it or another client I can try? I don't need anything fancy - just basic http/https, but a GUI is very much preferred over a command line client. Thanks!

  • Updating from svn repository returns "Could not read chunk size" error

    - by Denis
When updating from subversion repository using tortoise svn client I get error looking like that: Could not read chunk size: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. It doesn't prevent me from updating, just interrupts update process, so that I have to repeat update several times, before it is complete. What can cause such behaviour and how to fix it?

  • Migrating svn repo with non-flat branch hierarchy to mercurial

    - by Assaf Lavie
Is there a conversion utility from svn to hg that can deal with a branch hierarchy that's more complex than just a flat list of branches under /branches? My repository has a directory that looks (conceptually) like this: /branches /projectA /v1.x /v1.1 /v1.2 etc.. IOW I need a tool that can get a tree structure as input that represents the branch hierarchy, and migrate this into hg (could be flat in HG, don't really care).

  • Use SVN Revision to label build in CCNET

    - by hitec
I am using CCNET on a sample project with SVN as my source control. CCNET is configured to create a build on every check in. CCNET uses MSBuild to build the source code. I would like to use the latest revision number to generate AssemblyInfo.cs while compiling. How can I retrieve the latest revision from subversion and use the value in CCNET? Edit: I'm not using NAnt - only MSBuild.

  • Adding comments to SVN revisions

    - by pako
I'm using Subversion 1.6 and WebSVN. I'm looking for a simple tool, that would enable me to add custom comments to SVN revisions. So I would be able to see the stream of incoming revisions and mark which of them I already reviewed. An ability to share the comments with other programmers would also be a welcome addition, but it's not necessary. Could you recommend any tools for this?

  • SVN Tree Conflict Errors

    - by John
I seem to see such errors quite often in our SVN 1.6 repo. We got these quite a lot while we used to just work on /trunk so I don't think it's due to merge/branching confusion. It seems that a cleup and marking the conflict resolved always works, but it's a little concerning to see errors in your version control system when you're just adding/updating/deleting files. What causes it?
