  • Problem with two kernels installed and '@fedora' entries in 'yum list'?

    - by Paul
FC11 beta upgraded to FC12. When I do yum list I see listing on the far right column as follows: 'fedora' 'installed' and '@fedora'. Previously I never had '@fedora' and only seemed to appear when I upgraded from FC11-FC12. Also when i look at the kernels installed I have kernel-PAE 2.6.30-0.97.rc.fc12 installed kernel-PAE 2.6.31.5-127.fc12 @fedora Why do I have two entries?

  • How do I launch unicorn_rails as a startup script with rvm installed on my ubuntu 12.04 machine?

    - by ne0lithic_coder
I have a rails app on my server. I have a script startup.sh which launches unicorn_rails and then nginx. In order to get my server to launch on system boot, I've added a line to call my startup script to /etc/rc.local However, this doesn't work. I added some checks to make sure the script is being called and it is. It's the call to unicorn_rails which I think is failing. Does anyone have experience with this?

On Monday I had the opportunity to present the MIX 2010 Day 1 Keynote in Las Vegas (you can watch a video of it here).  In the keynote I announced the release of the Silverlight 4 Release Candidate (well ship the final release of it next month) and the VS 2010 RC tools for Silverlight 4.  I also had the chance to talk for the first time about how Silverlight and XNA can now be used to build Windows Phone 7 applications. During my talk I did two quick Windows Phone 7 coding demos using...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • TFS 2010 and the missing Area & Iterations (stale data) Issue

    - by andresv
The symptom is this: you change some area or iteration in a TFS Project, but the change is not reflected (or updated) in VS or any other TFS Client. Well, it happens that TFS now has some clever caching mechanisms that need to be updated when you make a change like this, and those changes are propagated by some scheduled jobs TFS is continuously running in the Application Tier.  So, you you get this behavior, please check (and possibly restart) the "Visual Studio Team Foundation Background Job Agent" service. In my case, this service was logging a very odd "Object Reference Not Set" into the Windows Event Log, and a simple restart fixed it. Hope this is fixed by RTM...   (we are using the RC version). And by the way, if the job agent is broken there are some other things that stops working like email notifications. Best regards, Andrés G Vettori, CTO, VMBC

  • Wireless iwconfig rate auto too low

    - by Jamie Kitson
Hi, left to its own devices my wireless connects at too low a speed. I have a 20meg internet connection and my wireless is slowing it down to like 3meg. When I reboot into windows it's fine. When I run iwconfig eth1 rate 24M or even 48M the connection is much faster and runs fine, why won't it automatically go higher? Is this the fault of the driver? I am running Broadcom's driver compiled from source. Would adding iwconfig eth1 rate 24M to rc.local be the right way to force it at boot?
