  • Tomcat's connection pool opens only 20 connections to mysql

    - by stck
    I have a java application with following line in context.xml <Resource driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" initialSize="10" maxWait="7000" name="jdbc/app" password="pass" type="javax.sql.DataSource" url="jdbc:mysql://dbhost:3306/dbname?autoReconnect=true" username="user" validationQuery="SELECT 1" removeAbandoned="true" removeAbandonedTimeout="30" logAbandoned="true" /> In mysql 'show variables' tells me that max_connections is 151. Still, use information_schema; select count(*) from processlist where User = 'user'; never shows me more than 20 connections. On tomcat's catalina.out -log I get Caused by: org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot get a connection, pool exhausted at org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource.getConnection(PoolingDataSource.java:103) at org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSource.getConnection(BasicDataSource.java:540) at org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DataSourceUtils.doGetConnection(DataSourceUtils.java:113) at org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DataSourceUtils.getConnection(DataSourceUtils.java:79) What should I check for to find the problem?

  • When transactionManager is not named "transactionManager" ...

    - by smallufo
    I am trying Spring 3(.0.2.RELEASE) and JPA2 and Hibernate 3.5.1-Final... One thing upsets me is that spring seems only accept a transaction Manager named "transactionManager" If I don't name it "transactionManager" , Spring will throws NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No bean named 'transactionManager' is defined. Here is my config : <context:component-scan base-package="destiny.data.mining"/> <context:annotation-config/> <bean id="miningEntityManagerFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean"> <property name="persistenceUnitName" value="mining"/> </bean> <bean id="miningTransactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager" > <property name="entityManagerFactory" ref="miningEntityManagerFactory"/> </bean> <tx:advice id="txAdviceMining" transaction-manager="miningTransactionManager"> <tx:attributes> <tx:method name="get*" read-only="true"/> <tx:method name="save*" propagation="REQUIRED"/> <tx:method name="update*" propagation="REQUIRED"/> <tx:method name="delete*" propagation="REQUIRED"/> <tx:method name="*" propagation="SUPPORTS" read-only="true"/> </tx:attributes> </tx:advice> <aop:config> <aop:pointcut id="methods" expression="execution(* destiny.utils.AbstractDao+.*(..))"/> <aop:advisor advice-ref="txAdviceMining" pointcut-ref="methods"/> </aop:config> <tx:annotation-driven transaction-manager="miningTransactionManager"/> In this config , an Entity Manager Factory is not necessarily named "entityManagerFactory" , and "txAdvice" is not necessarily named "txAdvice" , either. But I don't know why on earth Spring requires a transaction manager named "transactionManager" ? Is there any way not to name a transaction manager "transactionManager" ? (I'm running multiple spring config files , so I try my best to avoid name-conflicting) test code : @RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class) @ContextConfiguration(locations={"classpath:mining.xml"}) public class MiningPersonDaoTest { @Inject private EntityManagerFactory miningEntityManagerFactory; @Inject private MiningPersonDao miningPersonDao; @Transactional @Test public void testUpdate() { MiningPerson p = miningPersonDao.get(42L); p.setLocationName("OOXX"); miningPersonDao.update(p); System.out.println(p); } } ii

  • "Oracle", "Sybase", "SQL Server" vs just "SQL/JDBC" in the CV

    - by bobah
    How would you define a testable measure of the expertise that, if you're honest with yourself, lets you write in your CV words "Oracle", "Sybase", or "SQL Server" and not just "Relational Databases, SQL, JDBC" in your software developer's CV? What every XXX-developer (XXX - a vendor name) should know? The question is similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2119859/questions-every-good-database-sql-developer-should-be-able-to-answer but is vendor-specific. Below is a start of the list as an example, demonstrate what kind of answers I am hoping to get. If you are expert in X then you know that Y (X - Y below): Sybase/SQL Server - they are very similar, Sybase is much more expensive Sybase/SQL Server - for Java you can use either native Sybase/JSQLDB driver or jTDS that is using TDS protocol and can connect to SQL Server as well, TDS traffic can be dumped and analyzed with hexdump command Sybase/SQL Server - for C++ you can use FreeTDS to connect to any, for Perl - same Sybase/SQL Server - a query can return multiple result sets and return codes, all need to be processes otherwise errors can happen Sybase/SQL Server - sp_help, sp_helptext Sybase/SQL Server - your tables/views/procedures are under DBName/dbo/... Sybase - for C++ on Linux you can use Sybase client API to connect (at least until recently) SQL Server - JDBC driver has a configurable transparent failover capability Oracle - for C++ Linux one can use OTLv4 that is a very powerful yet lightweight wrapper around Oracle client API Oracle compilation (contributors: ammoQ) PLSQL Java Stored Procedures '' is null Hierarchical Query Analytic Functions Oracle Text

  • During Spring unit test, data written to db but test not seeing the data

    - by richever
    I wrote a test case that extends AbstractTransactionalJUnit4SpringContextTests. The single test case I've written creates an instance of class User and attempts to write it to the database using Hibernate. The test code then uses SimpleJdbcTemplate to execute a simple select count(*) from the user table to determine if the user was persisted to the database or not. The test always fails though. I was suspect because in the Spring controller I wrote, the ability to save an instance of User to the db is successful. So I added the Rollback annotation to the unit test and sure enough, the data is written to the database since I can even see it in the appropriate table -- the transaction isn't rolled back when the test case is finished. Here's my test case: @ContextConfiguration(locations = { "classpath:context-daos.xml", "classpath:context-dataSource.xml", "classpath:context-hibernate.xml"}) public class UserDaoTest extends AbstractTransactionalJUnit4SpringContextTests { @Autowired private UserDao userDao; @Test @Rollback(false) public void teseCreateUser() { try { UserModel user = randomUser(); String username = user.getUserName(); long id = userDao.create(user); String query = "select count(*) from public.usr where usr_name = '%s'"; long count = simpleJdbcTemplate.queryForLong(String.format(query, username)); Assert.assertEquals("User with username should be in the db", 1, count); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); Assert.assertNull("testCreateUser: " + e.getMessage()); } } } I think I was remiss by not adding the configuration files. context-hibernate.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd> <bean id="namingStrategy" class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.FieldRetrievingFactoryBean"> <property name="staticField"> <value>org.hibernate.cfg.ImprovedNamingStrategy.INSTANCE</value> </property> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean" destroy-method="destroy" scope="singleton"> <property name="namingStrategy"> <ref bean="namingStrategy"/> </property> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource"/> <property name="mappingResources"> <list> <value>com/company/model/usr.hbm.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.use_sql_comments">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.query.substitutions">yes 'Y', no 'N'</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.provider_class">org.hibernate.cache.EhCacheProvider</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_minimal_puts">false</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">thread</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/> <property name="nestedTransactionAllowed" value="false" /> </bean> <bean id="transactionInterceptor" class="org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor"> <property name="transactionManager"> <ref local="transactionManager"/> </property> <property name="transactionAttributes"> <props> <prop key="create">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="delete">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="update">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="*">PROPAGATION_SUPPORTS,readOnly</prop> </props> </property> </bean> </beans> context-dataSource.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="dataSource" class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <property name="driverClass" value="org.postgresql.Driver" /> <property name="jdbcUrl" value="jdbc\:postgresql\://localhost:5432/company_dev" /> <property name="user" value="postgres" /> <property name="password" value="postgres" /> </bean> </beans> context-daos.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="extendedFinderNamingStrategy" class="com.company.dao.finder.impl.ExtendedFinderNamingStrategy"/> <bean id="finderIntroductionAdvisor" class="com.company.dao.finder.impl.FinderIntroductionAdvisor"/> <bean id="abstractDaoTarget" class="com.company.dao.impl.GenericDaoHibernateImpl" abstract="true" depends-on="sessionFactory"> <property name="sessionFactory"> <ref bean="sessionFactory"/> </property> <property name="namingStrategy"> <ref bean="extendedFinderNamingStrategy"/> </property> </bean> <bean id="abstractDao" class="org.springframework.aop.framework.ProxyFactoryBean" abstract="true"> <property name="interceptorNames"> <list> <value>transactionInterceptor</value> <value>finderIntroductionAdvisor</value> </list> </property> </bean> <bean id="userDao" parent="abstractDao"> <property name="proxyInterfaces"> <value>com.company.dao.UserDao</value> </property> <property name="target"> <bean parent="abstractDaoTarget"> <constructor-arg> <value>com.company.model.UserModel</value> </constructor-arg> </bean> </property> </bean> </beans> Some of this I've inherited from someone else.   • Is it possible to create a jdbc connection without a password (using postgresql 'trust')?

    - by mojones
    I am using jdbc to connect to a postgresql database in a java application (actually the app is written in Groovy). I have postgresql set up to use the 'trust' authentication method. Is it possible to open a jdbc connection without specifying a password? When I try to use the normal constructor with a blank password, it fails with Exception in thread "Thread-2" org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "myuser" Even though, from the command line, this works fine psql -U myuser mydatabase Welcome to psql 8.3.5, the PostgreSQL interactive terminal. • Is there other ways to do insert/update/delete on a remote oracle database?

    - by gunbuster363
    I asked a question recently concerning the speed of execution of insert/update/delete using JDBC driver in a remote machine, but the problem cannot be solved easily. I would like to ask, is there any other way to execute the insert/update/delete to the oracle? The current situation is this: the DB is on a seperate machine than the java program used to update the DB. I looked up the internet and found people suggesting using pure sql or pl/sql to do the update, is that possible? And do we need to operate the sql or pl/sql in a local machine? Because I have no knowledge about pl/sql, so I am not sure if we can create some kind of script and call it on a remote machine. Let say the situation is like this: the input data is on machine A, and the original java program are also on machine A, but the oracle is on machine B. is there any other approach other than JDBC?

  • Spring / Hibernate / JUnit - No Hibernate Session bound to Thread

    - by Marty Pitt
    Hi I'm trying to access the current hibernate session in a test case, and getting the following error: org.hibernate.HibernateException: No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation of non-transactional one here at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.SpringSessionContext.currentSession(SpringSessionContext.java:63) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl.getCurrentSession(SessionFactoryImpl.java:574) I've clearly missed some sort of setup, but not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first crack at Hibernate / Spring etc, and the learning curve is certainly steep! • Why are transactions not rolling back when using SpringJUnit4ClassRunner/MySQL/Spring/Hibernate

    - by Trevor
    I am doing unit testing and I expect that all data committed to the MySQL database will be rolled back... but this isn't the case. The data is being committed, even though my log was showing that the rollback was happening. I've been wrestling with this for a couple days so my setup has changed quite a bit, here's my current setup. Also I have been able to successfully implement rolling back of transactions outside of my testing suite. So this must be some sort of incorrect setup on my part. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • What is the most simple way to execute java class every 30 seconds

    - by Gandalf StormCrow
    I've been reading about java/spring/hibernate and worked trough a "dummy" examples so I told my friend to recommend something a bit harder for me, and now I'm stuck.. here is the simplest class I could think of package spring.com.practice; public class Pitcher { private String shout; public String getShout() { return shout; } public void setShout(String shout) { this.shout = shout; } public void voice() { System.out.println(getShout()); } } What is the most simple way to print out something by calling metod voice() from spring beans, and do it repeadatly every 30 seconds lets say, here is what I've got so far : <bean id="simpleTrigger" class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SimpleTriggerBean"> <property name="jobDetail" ref="jobSchedulerDetail" /> <property name="startDelay" value="0" /> <property name="repeatInterval" value="30" /> </bean> <bean class="org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean"> <property name="schedulerName" value="pitcherScheduler" /> <property name="triggers"> <list> <ref bean="simpleTrigger" /> </list> </property> </bean> <bean id="pitcher" class="spring.com.practice.Pitcher"> <property name="shout" value="I started executing..."></property> </bean> And yes I'm trying to run this on Jboss 5, I'm building a project with maven.

  • post xml to Spring REST server returns Unsupported Media Type

    - by Mayra
    I'm trying to create a simple spring based webservice that supports a "post" with xml content. In spring, I define an AnnotationMethodHandler: <bean id="inboundMessageAdapter" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.AnnotationMethodHandlerAdapter"> <property name="messageConverters"> <util:list> <bean class="org.springframework.http.converter.xml.MarshallingHttpMessageConverter"> <property name="marshaller" ref="xmlMarshaller"/> <property name="unmarshaller" ref="xmlMarshaller"/> </bean> </util:list> </property> </bean> And a jaxb based xml marshaller: <bean id="xmlMarshaller" class="org.springframework.oxm.jaxb.Jaxb2Marshaller"> <property name="contextPaths"> <array> <value>com.company.schema</value> </array> </property> <property name="schemas"> <array> <value>classpath:core.xsd</value> </array> </property> </bean> My controller is annotated as follows, where "Resource" is a class autogenerated by jaxb: @RequestMapping(method = POST, value = "/resource") public Resource createResource(@RequestBody Resource resource) { // do work } The result of a webservice call is always "HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type". Here is an example service call: HttpPost post = new HttpPost(uri); post.addHeader("Accept", "application/xml"); post.addHeader("Content-Type", "application/xml"); StringEntity entity = new StringEntity(request, "UTF-8"); entity.setContentType("application/xml"); post.setEntity(entity); It seems to me that I am setting the correct media type everywhere possible. Anyone have an ideas?

  • Spring Framework 3 and session attributes

    - by newbie
    I have form object that I set to request in GET request handler in my Spring controller. First time user enters to page, a new form object should be made and set to request. If user sends form, then form object is populated from request and now form object has all user givern attributes. Then form is validated and if validation is ok, then form is saved to database. If form is not validated, I want to save form object to session and then redirect to GET request handling page. When request is redirected to GET handler, then it should check if session contains form object. I have figured out that there is @SessionAttributes("form") annotation in Spring, but for some reason following doesnt work, because at first time, session attribute form is null and it gives error: org.springframework.web.HttpSessionRequiredException: Session attribute 'form' required - not found in session Here is my controller: @RequestMapping(value="form", method=RequestMethod.GET) public ModelAndView viewForm(@ModelAttribute("form") Form form) { ModelAndView mav = new ModelAndView("form"); if(form == null) form = new Form(); mav.addObject("form", form); return mav; } @RequestMapping(value="form", method=RequestMethod.POST) @Transactional(readOnly = true) public ModelAndView saveForm(@ModelAttribute("form") Form form) { FormUtils.populate(form, request); if(form.validate()) { formDao.save(); } else { return viewForm(form); } return null; }

  • Spring security custom ldap authentication provider

    - by wuntee
    I currently have my ldap authentication context set up like this: <ldap-server url="ldap://host/dn" manager-dn="cn=someuser" manager-password="somepass" /> <authentication-manager> <ldap-authentication-provider user-search-filter="(samaccountname={0})"/> </authentication-manager> Now, I need to be able to set up a custom authorities mapper (it uses a different ldap server) - so I am assuming I need to set up my ldap-server similar to (http://static.springsource.org/spring-security/site/docs/2.0.x/reference/ldap.html): <bean id="ldapAuthProvider" class="org.springframework.security.providers.ldap.LdapAuthenticationProvider"> <constructor-arg> <bean class="org.springframework.security.providers.ldap.authenticator.BindAuthenticator"> <constructor-arg ref="contextSource"/> <property name="userDnPatterns"> <list><value>uid={0},ou=people</value></list> </property> </bean> </constructor-arg> <constructor-arg> <bean class="org.springframework.security.ldap.populator.DefaultLdapAuthoritiesPopulator"> <constructor-arg ref="contextSource"/> <constructor-arg value="ou=groups"/> <property name="groupRoleAttribute" value="ou"/> </bean> </constructor-arg> </bean> But, how do I reference that 'ldapAuthProvider' to the ldap-server in the security context? I am also using spring-security 3, so '' does not exist...

  • Spring Security session-management setting and IllegalStateException

    - by JayL
    I'm trying to add <session-management> in my Spring Security namespace configuration so that I can provide a different message than the login page when the session times out. As soon as I add it to my configuration it starts throwing "IllegalStateException: Cannot create a session after the response has been committed" when I access the app. I'm using Spring Security 3 and Tomcat 6. Here's my configuration: <http> <intercept-url pattern="/go.htm" access="ROLE_RESPONDENT" /> <intercept-url pattern="/complete.htm" access="ROLE_RESPONDENT" /> <intercept-url pattern="/**" access="IS_AUTHENTICATED_ANONYMOUSLY" /> <form-login login-processing-url="/j_spring_security_check" login-page="/login.htm" authentication-failure-url="/login.htm?error=true" default-target-url="/go.htm" /> <anonymous/> <logout logout-success-url="/logout_message.htm"/> <session-management invalid-session-url="/login.htm" /> </http> Everything works great until I add in the <session-management> line. What am I missing?

  • Injecting Mockito mocks into a Spring bean

    - by teabot
    I would like to inject a Mockito mock object into a Spring (3+) bean for the purposes of unit testing with JUnit. My bean dependencies are currently injected by using the @Autowired annotation on private member fields. I have considered using ReflectionTestUtils.setField but the bean instance that I wish to inject is actually a proxy and hence does not declare the private member fields of the target class. I do not wish to create a public setter to the dependency as I will then be modifying my interface purely for the purposes of testing. I have followed some advice given by the Spring community but the mock does not get created and the auto-wiring fails: <bean id="dao" class="org.mockito.Mockito" factory-method="mock"> <constructor-arg value="com.package.Dao" /> </bean> The error I currently encounter is as follows: ... Caused by: org...NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.package.Dao] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. Dependency annotations: { @org...Autowired(required=true), @org...Qualifier(value=dao) } at org...DefaultListableBeanFactory.raiseNoSuchBeanDefinitionException(D...y.java:901) at org...DefaultListableBeanFactory.doResolveDependency(D...y.java:770) If I set the constructor-arg value to something invalid no error occurs when starting the application context.

  • Spring 3 DI using generic DAO interface

    - by Peders
    I'm trying to use @Autowired annotation with my generic Dao interface like this: public interface DaoContainer<E extends DomainObject> { public int numberOfItems(); // Other methods omitted for brevity } I use this interface in my Controller in following fashion: @Configurable public class HelloWorld { @Autowired private DaoContainer<Notification> notificationContainer; @Autowired private DaoContainer<User> userContainer; // Implementation omitted for brevity } I've configured my application context with following configuration <context:spring-configured /> <context:component-scan base-package="com.organization.sample"> <context:exclude-filter expression="org.springframework.stereotype.Controller" type="annotation" /> </context:component-scan> <tx:annotation-driven /> This works only partially, since Spring creates and injects only one instance of my DaoContainer, namely DaoContainer. In other words, if I ask userContainer.numberOfItems(); I get the number of notificationContainer.numberOfItems() I've tried to use strongly typed interfaces to mark the correct implementation like this: public interface NotificationContainer extends DaoContainer<Notification> { } public interface UserContainer extends DaoContainer<User> { } And then used these interfaces like this: @Configurable public class HelloWorld { @Autowired private NotificationContainer notificationContainer; @Autowired private UserContainer userContainer; // Implementation omitted... } Sadly this fails to BeanCreationException: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Could not autowire field: private com.organization.sample.dao.NotificationContainer com.organization.sample.HelloWorld.notificationContainer; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.organization.sample.NotificationContainer] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. Dependency annotations: {@org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired(required=true)} Now, I'm a little confused how should I proceed or is using multiple Dao's even possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Spring Security HTTP Basic Authentication

    - by Raspayu
    Hi people! I am trying to do a really simple basic authentication with Spring Security. I have configured properly the namespace, and there are no Exceptions in the server. In my "servlet.xml" I have got the next for Spring Security: <security:http> <security:http-basic></security:http-basic> <security:intercept-url method="POST" pattern="/**" access="ROLE_USER" /> </security:http> <security:authentication-manager alias="authenticationManager"> <security:authentication-provider> <security:user-service> <security:user name="cucu" password="tas" authorities="ROLE_USER" /> <security:user name="bob" password="bobspassword" authorities="ROLE_USER" /> </security:user-service> </security:authentication-provider> </security:authentication-manager> It nearly all goes perfect: the methods that are not POST doesn't prompt any login form, and the POST method prompt it. The problem is, that nor "cucu", neither "bob" can login there. Can anyone see what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance! ;-)

  • spring 3 AOP anotated advises

    - by Art79
    Trying to figure out how to Proxy my beans with AOP advices in annotated way. I have a simple class @Service public class RestSampleDao { @MonitorTimer public Collection<User> getUsers(){ .... return users; } } i have created custom annotation for monitoring execution time @Target({ ElementType.METHOD, ElementType.TYPE }) @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) public @interface MonitorTimer { } and advise to do some fake monitoring public class MonitorTimerAdvice implements MethodInterceptor { public Object invoke(MethodInvocation invocation) throws Throwable{ try { long start = System.currentTimeMillis(); Object retVal = invocation.proceed(); long end = System.currentTimeMillis(); long differenceMs = end - start; System.out.println("\ncall took " + differenceMs + " ms "); return retVal; } catch(Throwable t){ System.out.println("\nerror occured"); throw t; } } } now i can use it if i manually proxy the instance of dao like this AnnotationMatchingPointcut pc = new AnnotationMatchingPointcut(null, MonitorTimer.class); Advisor advisor = new DefaultPointcutAdvisor(pc, new MonitorTimerAdvice()); ProxyFactory pf = new ProxyFactory(); pf.setTarget( sampleDao ); pf.addAdvisor(advisor); RestSampleDao proxy = (RestSampleDao) pf.getProxy(); mv.addObject( proxy.getUsers() ); but how do i set it up in Spring so that my custom annotated methods would get proxied by this interceptor automatically? i would like to inject proxied samepleDao instead of real one. Can that be done without xml configurations? i think should be possible to just annotate methods i want to intercept and spring DI would proxy what is necessary. or do i have to use aspectj for that? would prefere simplest solution :- ) thanks a lot for help!

  • How can i inject servletcontext in spring

    - by M.R.
    I need to write a junit test for a rather complex application which runs in a tomcat. I wrote a class which builds up my spring context. private static ApplicationContext springContext = null; springContext = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext( new String[] {"beans"....}); In the application there is a call: public class myClass implements ServletContextAware { .... final String folder = servletContext.getRealPath("/example"); ... } which breaks everything, because the ServletContext is null. I have started to build a mock object: static ServletConfig servletConfigMock = createMock(ServletConfig.class); static ServletContext servletContextMock = createMock(ServletContext.class); @BeforeClass public static void setUpBeforeClass() throws Exception { expect(servletConfigMock.getServletContext()).andReturn(servletContextMock).anyTimes(); expect(servletContextMock.getRealPath("/example")).andReturn("...fulllpath").anyTimes(); replay(servletConfigMock); replay(servletContextMock); } Is there a simple methode to inject the ServletContext or to start the tomcat with a deployment descriptor at the runtime of the junit test? I am using: spring, maven, tomcat 6 and easymock for the mock objects.

  • Problem between Glassfish and Spring Security Basic Authentication

    - by Raspayu
    Hi! I am enabling a simple HTTP Basic Authentication with Spring security in my project. My environment is an Glassfish Server (bundled with Netbeans), and almost everything works perfect: I have set up it to just ask for authentication with the POST method, with hardcoded users with "user-service", and it works with user names with no special characters. The problem comes when I set up an user with "@" or "." Here is the spring-security related part of my servlet.xml: <security:http> <security:intercept-url method="POST" pattern="/**" access="ROLE_USER" /> <security:http-basic/> </security:http> <security:authentication-manager alias="authenticationManager"> <security:authentication-provider user-service-ref="uservice"/> </security:authentication-manager> <security:user-service id="uservice"> <security:user name="[email protected]" password="pswd1" authorities="ROLE_USER" /> <security:user name="[email protected]" password="pswd2" authorities="ROLE_USER" /> <security:user name="pepe" password="pepito" authorities="ROLE_USER" /> </security:user-service> I have looked also for what did the browser send to the listening port, and it sends right the par "username:password" in base 64, so i think the problem is in my server(Glassfish v3). Does anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance! Raspayu

  • How to use a Spring config file in a Maven dependency

Does anyone know how?

  • autocommit and @Transactional and Cascading with spring, jpa and hibernate

    - by subes
    Hi, what I would like to accomplish is the following: have autocommit enabled so per default all queries get commited if there is a @Transactional on a method, it overrides the autocommit and encloses all queries into a single transaction, thus overriding the autocommit if there is a @Transactional method that calls other @Transactional annotated methods, the outer most annotation should override the inner annotaions and create a larger transaction, thus annotations also override eachother I am currently still learning about spring-orm and couldn't find documentation about this and don't have a test project for this yet. So my questions are: What is the default behaviour of transactions in spring? If the default differs from my requirement, is there a way to configure my desired behaviour? Or is there a totally different best practice for transactions? --EDIT-- I have the following test-setup: @javax.persistence.Entity public class Entity { @Id @GeneratedValue private Integer id; private String name; public Integer getId() { return id; } public void setId(Integer id) { this.id = id; } public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } } @Repository public class Dao { @PersistenceContext private EntityManager em; public void insert(Entity ent) { em.persist(ent); } @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public List<Entity> selectAll() { List<Entity> ents = em.createQuery("select e from " + Entity.class.getName() + " e").getResultList(); return ents; } } If I have it like this, even with autocommit enabled in hibernate, the insert method does nothing. I have to add @Transactional to the insert or the method calling insert for it to work... Is there a way to make @Transactional completely optional?
